  1. My car came through a few weeks ago and they didn't take anything including my full set of guages, elec controllers, spare 18" SSR rims in the back, etc. I was very relieved:)
  2. Yeah it did sell for a bit for a silvia but still cost me less than what i got for my 180 and is much more heavily modded. I was more after a heavily modded r32 but they were very scarce. The pictures don't show how damn low it is and the massive stretch to fit 215 and 225 tyres over the wide rims
  3. Here's a pic of my baby fresh from the docks. Needs a bit of a dust me thinks.
  4. I've got a customs agent but i'm still waiting to receive a call from them or their number from my import agent. When i asked my agent about when it's likely to be released, when i can see it, when i have to pay all charges, etc, all i received what a "i dunno". I'm getting a little sick of being underinformed.
  5. Apparently my car arrived last Thurs but i've got no idea when i can see it, when it'll be out of customs, when i have to pay for shipping, GST, etc :s
  6. I had a mate ask them about it for me this week. What you have to do is pay the complusary 3rd party on the car ($70 or so), then go to Qld Transport and get a permit to drive it round which costs about $20/day. However, the car will need to be complied before you can get a permit so i'll be getting my car towed from the docks to a compliance place in Brisbane, then drive it down to the Gold Coast to get the SC done.
  7. I heard the same when i was looking at fitting my r32 coilovers into my 180, the rears are the same but not the fronts (fronts are same as s14 i think?).
  8. Geez, pretty pricey. I got quoted $1250 from ADD for my silvia and $800/$1000 (2/4 seats) from another contact which is better but still pretty exy for the little that needs doing. Of course mine is only a 2 door, but my friend had his 4 door chaser done for $850.
  9. Hmm, i'm not sure now which ship my car is on. I was told it was on the one loaded on the 22 Jan (Haul Trekker), but Craig said it would arrive on the 24th Feb and i thought he said "Tramper", but that hasn't been loaded yet so we wouldn't know?? Might have to call back on Mon.
  10. You sound like you got away pretty lucky. I don't want to start off counting the number of f*ck-ups and times i've been pissed off, and my car is still on its way here :s I did find out my car is on the Hual Tramper ETA Feb 24th so at least that's some good news.
  11. Still haven't heard from my agent Time to stop using their "preferred method of contact" and find the time to give them a call to find out where the f*ck my car is.
  12. How long can i expect to wait to know if my car got onto the Kiwi carrier that was loading on the 19/20 Jan? Is it time to start crying and oiling up the push bike?
  13. I sent one off a few days after Christmas and it took about a week til i got the letter. Might be wise to give them a call.
  14. Just did some research and they sound like damn good tyres Adrian. I'm wasn't really looking at buying for about 4 weeks but PM me some pics and details and i might be enticed as the silvia will need some new rear tyres for rego.
  15. hmm, maybe i should take it more seriously and get some good tyres. I'm aiming to get in the HPI top 10 so will need a decent 60' to back up my mph. I had 245/45/16s Falken FK451s on my last 180sx and they still didn't offer much traction at Willowbank so i guess i'd fry 205 or 225 RT215s just as bad.
  16. I'm just trying to figure out which sized tyre would be most appropriate for my needs (250rwkw silvia, only occasional drag use so not wanting to spend a great deal). In a cheap semi-slick like the Falken RT215, there's not a great deal of width options available for each diameter so which would be better, a wide 17" tyre or a narrower 15" tyre with greater sidewall flex? Comparing, say, a 255/40/17 ($280) vs 225/50/16 ($190) vs 205/60/15 ($160), and possibly taking into account the price difference between them (ie. is the increase in traction worth the $120 difference. Prices from Tempe Tyres). Or maybe i should save and get some 255 15" BFGoodrich Comp T/As or Nittos but they'd be significantly more expensive again. cheers Neil
  17. All my fingers and toes are crossed that i got on the ship today. I never did manage to find out which port my car was at though.
  18. I'm a bit worried too but i was told it was all covered by insurance.

    Mini in Japan

Its over 15 years old so i'd say you wouldn't have any problems bringing one back.
  20. It wasn't in an r32, but my rb20det with mods in sig ran [email protected] (best 114.6mph).
  21. Gareth at J-spec says there's a Kiwi ship leaving on the 20th of Jan. I think my car is in Osaka so hopefully i've got first crack at a spot.
  22. I had an inspection done on my 180 for the new owner and they had to staple 2 extra sheets onto the report. I pretty much ended up with a big list of my mods as their "faults" plus a few other things that were actually quite handy to know.
  23. I express posted my import approval day, not that the extra 2 days postage would really have mattered with the 4-8 weeks at least i expect it to get on a ship.
  24. I agree, your mph and power seem right to me. If the people you've raced can't run 108mph then i'd say they've got a fairly 'happy' dyno reading to make over 200rwkw.
