Yea I know exactly what caused it, When they did the compliance and installed the rear child restraints. (Mine are in the top of rear or the cabin where the tailgate is mounted) and one of the bolts had damaged the rear tailgate harness. It wasnt until I went looking for a reverse light signal for my camera and the tuner that it failed and rendered the car useless. Basicall if you short the reverse signal to earth you blow the fuse and the car wont start. Im glad this didnt happen somewhere else away from home or else I would have been stranded with no clue and to make things worse its hard to get the towed with the body kit as there are no accessible tow points. Now I am trying to work out how to route the video signal through the tailgate to finish the camera install. Cheers for you help and support.

Hi Guys, Has anyone outed wires through the M35 tail gate ?? I am trying to run a video cable through the tailgate on the M35 Stagea. Im not sure how you access the wiring harness between the 2 plastic layers of the tailgate around the window. Has anyone worked this out or installed a reverse camera in the tailgate.

Well I finally solved the problem , I was reading through some V35 documentation when it referenced another set of fuses and relays that are not that obvious on initial inspection. The fuse box is located on the passenger side firewall right in the corner. To see the Fuse box you need to remove the battery cover & surround as well as the black plastic window trim. A simple fuse was all the problem see picture of fuse location.

I had been driving I for a while, But hopefull I may have found the problem as I have located another set of fuses and relays that I will have to check tonight. Im keeping my fingers cross as this problem is driving me insane.

Thanks, Did you get replacement bushes for the car ?, Which ones did you need to replace ?, How much ? Did you replace the swaybar bushes at the same time ?

Well everything looks in order in the centre console, The only plugs that get disturbed when removing the console are the heated seats, 4WD syncro, hazards and shifter light. The shifter mechanism has only 1 main plug and this seems good. The AUTO ecu on the other side kick panel has a hundreds of wires going to it and about 6 connectors. Seems like a lot of wires how would you know where to start.

Cheers for the advice, WIll have a look under the car when I get the thing started, Got a starter issue, No signal or something from the shifter. Something else to look at tomorrow.

On the drivers kick panel on the M35 there is the fuses as well as some control unit and alot of harness. Whats on the C34s ? Should I unplug the plus and just make sure everything is connected secure ? I think it would be more like the centre console as I have had this out in the past. I appreciate your assistance.

Thanks Murray, I have had the contre console out in the past and it is possible that there is something wrong there, I will check the connections tomorrow and try to determine if there is something not right. It seems weard to me that there is an issue now when it had beed working fine for some time.

When the ignition is on and where the normal gear indication is there is nothing to say what gear it is in. Does anyone with M35 have the sear selection when the ignition is on "ON" mine saays nothing.

Well today I went to the car and the car wont start. When you flick it to start you can hear the fuel pump pumping but no starter motor. Everything else seems to be working as per usual. I checked the fuses on the drivers side kick panel and all was in order. I checked the battery as that seemed fine, The radio / windows and everything work fine. I disconnected the battery for 1h to see if that had anything to do with it. Its got me stumped. I thought it could be the imobiliser but that seems to be ok too. I couldnt check the integrity of the immobiliser connections into the cars harness as I had no idea what I was looking at. The only thing that seems different to usual is that when you move the shifter to reverse there is no revers sound on no revers lights. ( I noticed this when I tried to start it N) Any idea why there would be no reverse lights or signal ?. Is there a fuse for the Lights that I cant find but surely this wouldnt stop the car from starting ?? Please help me as I am stranded.

Well I checked the connections and wouldn't you know I had the sides connected and the rears connected together. So I rewired it today (front and sides together) and will check out the reception when I go out. The M35 is the same each double coax connection goes to an amp with a power wire in between, the signal conductors are red and white on each set so I connected the reds together and the whites together. I will check if the result is any better this way and get back to you.

Im not sure which wire was which side, from what i can remember i tied the same colors together as you described. On my car the the for aerial wires were two sets of pairs (double coax) the colors corresponded to an f-connector on each set of doubles. How did you determine what color aerial was either side or rear ?

Hi, Has anyone had much experience with diagnosing creaky suspension. I have noticed the when traveling over bumps, in and out of the driveway and some cornering there is a creaky noise coming from the front suspension. Im not sure if it is from the shockers, swaybar bushes are the control arm bushes. Under braking / acceleration there doesnt seem to be any noises which lead me to believe that the problem is not control arm bushes (Or maybe im just hoping this), From what i can tell could it be the swaybar bushes ? they seem a little deformed and worn but not too bad or do shockers make this type of noise also ? The car has done 60k and everything is original so its probably about time that some parts need replacing. Any ideas of what I should do ?? Remove the sway bar and see what happens or can I take the car some where do a propped diagnosis ? Let me know what experiences you have had regards Dan

had you tried changing the way the factory aerials are wired, eg connecting one of the side windows to the one of the back windows where they connect to the 2 F-Connectors on the tuner ?

I have found the reception great, You get some clipping/pausing in the signal rarely but overall it has worked much better than expected. I have not you had a chance to see whhat sort of range I get as I have only driven in the CBD.

I can confirm that the TV works well in the M35 the only difference is some of the wiring colours in the connector. One thing I noticed is that there is a little engine noise in the system but its not too bad.

Thanks, I look in that location and there doesn't seem to be anything there Nd the reference drawing is a straight 6 and not a V6.

Sounds like a silly question but im having trouble finding the engine number on my VQ25DET. Does anyone know where it is located ?

Can anyone tell me if the M35 Stagea used +ve or -ve triggering on the central door locking. Is the control unit located in the drivers side door ? Is there a wiring diagram abailable for this model ? I want to install a car alarm to my car and if anyone has had some experience with this there help would be great.

Yea its taken so long all I want now if for everything to be done. I used my car a test car for complience and this is the main reason its taking so long. The only good thing is that when it arrives most of the stuff I wanted to be done will be then the fun starts.

Hi Guys, Just wanted to let you know that my M35 2001 stagea is only about 3 weeks away from being on the road here in SA. Complience is being finished in Melbourne and the car is in the paint shop for the new kit and a Tow bar package. Its taken about 5 months since I purchased the car to get it to Australia, Engineered and ready for complience. Hopefully the attached picture is visible this is of the car at the engineers.
