Hi guys ive been doing some research on the forums about the 100km or import service people carry out on their gtr's. I'm not going to be chasing any serious power. I just want somthing reliable. These are the things i'm definatly doing. Replace ALL fluids Change timing belt and have others inspected Change all filters, oil, fuel etc. Now I hear alot of people also do these.. are these a good idea to do for what i want? Change fuel pump (if yes genuine or aftermarket?) Change oil pump (wouldnt this cost ALOT?) Clean injectors (if the car runs fine now is that necessary?) Water pump New spark plugs (again is this necessary if the car runs well?) any other MUST DO'S to stay reliable? (I already know the about the turbo's ) Thanks guys!

hey had a few offers but nothing i'm after.. Il be more specific. only want to spend up to 50 dollars on a boost or oil temp THANKS!
-
mate if your not going to run a cat AT LEAST put a gutted cat on the car for your own sake. At least then you have one if they look under your car.
-

Hey guys just wondering if i have a stock fuel pump in my gtr or not. I can hear it buzz loudly when i turn the car on (not start) for about 5-10 seconds. It's extremely noticable. Can you really hear the stock pump prepping? Thanks

Converting To Steel Wheel Turbos
gtrboosting replied to gtrboosting's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Beer baron that is the setup i'm going for. I alredy have a free flowing exhaust with new hks pods and suspension. I don't know what boost the car is running now but it feels slow compared to my old 180sx on 14psi. As I said ill do EBC, Cam gears, power fc and steel wheel turbo's running 15psi. Can you explain to me why you chose to upgrade to a NISMO pump? I thought the standard was fine for that kind of power figure? That should let me reach 250 providing things are in good condition. :) -
Converting To Steel Wheel Turbos
gtrboosting replied to gtrboosting's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
ok heres the plan. buy a EBC and run 10psi. Buy power fc and cams. Have the turbo's inspected and probably high flow them with steel wheels. get the power fc and cams insaled and tuned to 15psi. Drive around with 250awkw and be happy forever -
Converting To Steel Wheel Turbos
gtrboosting replied to gtrboosting's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
ok theres no way of knowing if my turbo's have already been rebuilt though with out taking them apart right? If i get someone to check the turbo's for me and they are still in good condition i asume it would be safe to run more boost through them. -
Do the standard R32 GTR turbo's have GARETT printed on them?
-
PLEASE ONLY POLL IF YOU ARE RUNNING 11-16PSI ON STOCK TURBOS So everyone is telling me its dangerous to up the boost on my 100,000km + turbo's to even 12psi. I don't get it. I owned a 180sx for 3 years and no one suggested i change the turbo before raising the boost pressure to 14psi. Are the R32 GTR turbo's that weak?
-
PLEASE ONLY POST IN RELLATION TO R32 GTR Hi guys I have heard so much about the fact the r32 gtr turbo's aint that great after 100,000kms and should be changed before rising up around the 10-15psi mark. I don't understand why some peoples engines die when a turbo go's and others don't. Anyway just want to find out roughly how many people actually suffered engine damage due to turbo going wammy.

Converting To Steel Wheel Turbos
gtrboosting replied to gtrboosting's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
hmm well i dont like the idea of buying a vehicle and instantly having to replace the turbos haha.. stupid turbos. I don't see why the turbo's go so quickly on the GTR's more then any other car? say a 180sx or gts-t. maybe 10psi will do -
Converting To Steel Wheel Turbos
gtrboosting replied to gtrboosting's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Ok so what you guys are saying is that you can purchase new turbo's for the same price as having your stock items high flowed or rebuilt with steel weels? What boost is safe with the standard 130,000km old turbos? around 12-13psi? keep in mind the car isn't being thrashed. Just a squirt now and then. -
Hi I just bought a R32 GTR and i dont want to go all out and buy new turbo's. Only want 250awkw. Alot of people have said its worth replacing the standard ones or getting them rebuilt with steel wheels. Has anyone here rebuilt theres with steel wheels? How much did the whole thing cost? Also anyone recommended in the Brisbane area? After rough prices. Thanks!

Power Loss When Engaged In Awd
gtrboosting replied to gtrboosting's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
ah i see how much power are we talking about here in full awd? 20kw? -
Hey guys just a quick question. when the r32 gtr engages in awd do you lose power? for example. Driving hard on a rainy day. or is the awd always engaged on the r32? Thanks
-
ahok looks like ill go for a metal cat then. now i just have to wait for some sort of deal to pop up
-
ohok last one i had was a flyn high flow.. dont think they make them anymore but that seemed to do the job well. Anyone else?
-
ok thanks alot!!! As for a cat. Does anyone know a good value for money high flow cat going around that wont break the bank?! I see some going for around 500:S
-
also in between the cat and muffler has a huge resonator/muffler thing. I know this would quiet the exhaust down but would it restrict flow at all? It's pretty massive. Thanks
-
ok so what i want to know now is. If i buy a dump/front pipe in 1 like the hks one http://www.nengun.com/hks/stainless-front-pipe-gtr Will an exhaust shop be able to fit the thing with out too many dramas? Will it cost a load in labour etc? I'm not looking to upgrade the turbo's any time soon but i dont want to buy a dump and front pipe seperatly when i can get a 2 in 1. Thanks!!!
