  1. All good guys, received all payments so far It's funny how there was at least 10 people in the other thread saying count me in but haven't heard from them since lol xD
  2. LOL I think self tapping screws might be the way to go. Anyway, post up some pics guys
  3. Yes, most of the time, just outside, unless you have leaks and water gets into the inside of the headlight, then you will need to take the whole lens off. What changes them? The sun, the Australian sun changes the colour of the plastic, thats why I'm tryin to get some UV sealant, so it lasts a bit longer because I have to clean them again lol. If you just cut and polish them, they will turn yellow again in a month or two, so with the headlights, it's kinda like a constant thing, just gotta keep cleaning. Not much that you can do about it, because it's plastic. REPLY TO YOUR EDIT: You don't "need" to remove your headlights, you could mask around the light and cut & polish or just polish it with it on the car, but I took mine off coz I had to take my front bar off. So I thought I might as well take them off because it's easier for me to clean. http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/topic/325267-restoring-your-headlights-with-pictures/page__p__5298123__hl__headlight__fromsearch__1#entry5298123 http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/topic/249905-yellow-fever-restoring-r33-and-r34-model-headlights/page__p__4774164__hl__headlight__fromsearch__1#entry4774164 Search mannnn.... It isn't that hard...
  4. Actually, your right, bonnet isn't s2, only the spoiler lol
  5. Cool! It's a men date! I still gotta get my other headlight back from Vu (plastic welding my tabs), so once that's done, I'll drop by Can you please PM me your number lol
  6. Thanks Anna That's ok, just means someone else will have to step up and help the club And to be honest, I think the newsletters are getting more and more interesting, especially with Ash's F1 experience thingy.
  7. 1995 is a series 1.5. It's got the series 2 spoiler and pretty sure series 2 bonnet. But the rest is series 1.
  8. But I still can't justify spending $38 on a 10mL bottle lol, do you have any spares enough to do my headlights and I'll pay you some money? lol
  9. There's HEAPS and HEAPS of thread on restoring headlights.... Look in Cosmetic Section as well as DIY Section. But a quick solution would be cut & polish, or even toothpaste. If you want kits, try glassylite or some other one from Autobarn. @Immacreflections - That's what I was looking at before, might give that a go
  10. Can I pleaseeeee get that off you? If you want, I'll give you some monies
  11. For $490, it wouldn't be genuine right?..
  12. LOL I just thought I'd sand it because the front bar is off lol. I used to just cut and polish but it fades back too quickly so I thought I might as well try sanding it. But now, I need to get some UV sealant.. Any ideas where I could get it from?
  13. Thanks for the reply Matt Yeah, I know those headlight restoration kits have the sealant but I don't wanna be spending $40-60 for a bottle of sealant, because I've already did the sanding and polishing already which would be included in the kits. Please let me know soon if you could just get the sealant by itself, because my car is off the road for a few days and would like to seal the headlights before I start driving again
  14. Hey guys, I sanded back my headlights the other night and gave it a real good polish and I'm just wondering if UV sealant is required? If so, what options do I have? Thanks!!
  15. Yeah, coz the skirts needed to be kinda re-fibreglassed in some corners lol. I agree, the Impul kit is one of my favourite, but I only like the sides and rear, the front is a little too much for me haha. The side is simple and the rear is like factory but with added "pods" lol, just a clean, simple kit.
  16. Hmmm... I can edit ANY of my posts... Doesn't matter how long.. EDIT: Badges for everyone!! LOL
  17. Haha, I kinda want to do it once and do it right-ish lol. I let the filler to set for like 15mins, then sanded it. And yeah, when the car is all done, I'll message you to come down (3-4 shops away) to have a look at it And it will have brand spanking new looking headlights to go with it, sanded and polished them with my orbital polisher Thanks Let's see... 1. Prepare the areas you wanna touch up/spray, make sure it's alllll clean and grease free, you can use Prepsol. 2. I sanded back the damage with 120, 220 grit dry sand paper (left side of bumper only, if you don't need to fill, just sand back your panel so it's all smooth and move to step 5) 3. Use body filler for my bumper and let it dry for 15mins or so. 4. Dry sand back the body filler so your panel is all smooth again, start of with rough and eventually end up with 400 grit. 5. Use Prepsol to clean the area again. 6. Mask off the areas you want to spray 7. Spray a few coats of primer on (5-6 coats), and wait 5-10mins between each coat. 8. Wet sand back the primer using 400, 600 grit. 9. Once it's all smooth, use Prepsol to clean area before applying paint. 10. Apply 3-5 coats of colour and wait 15mins or so between each coat and then for the last coat, wait like 1 hour. 11. Not sure how long to wait, but after letting the paint dry and cure, wet sand it with 2000 grit before polishing and buffing it. Anyway, those steps are just what I did, doesn't mean they are correct or the best way to go about it, but I'm happy with the results.
  18. That just depends on what he uses, coz I know that 2 x 24 led strips are only worth like $3-4 lol
  19. Nope, I reckon it would be similar height, because the lip slopes down from the front to the rear, so the rear of the lip is lower, which should line up with the skirts. If you want, I took my Nismo skirts to my panel beaters yesterday, so hopefully I'll have them on my car sometime next time, I'll send you some pics, because I think the Nismo skirts is pretty similar to Impul.
  20. Lol done. How come you can't edit your post?
  21. bump!
  22. Thanks for all the encouragement Arthur Since I've sprayed it, I've got lots of questions lol. -I've been told that I won't need a clear coat on this yellow as it is just a flat colour, true or false? -I've been told to wait at least 3-4 weeks before I start wet sanding it with 2000 grit, so the paint harden, what should I do? -Would it matter if I put the bar back onto the car and drive it with it un-sanded? Thanksssss
  23. Even better, that way you can LED your reverse light LOL
