  1. a quick question which is a sort of off topic regarding the attessa pressure guage. What sort of gauge is it (like what is it usually used for, i assume hydraulic stuff?) and what sort of pressure readings are expected with attessa operating correctly? i want a gauge for my 32r track car to check the 4wd is workin correct but unsure of the scale of the gauge and what psi does it go upto, etc.
  2. jesse streeter is the best bet, he charges minimal rates and great to deal with. Ive purchased a few things through him and so have mates with all good reports.
  3. get decent offsets and they look good, mine are 18x10 +20
  4. i might come down for a looksie too, im sort of tempted to throw the stagea on but its making stuff all power these days its not worth it.
  5. hey guys i was gonna start a new thread but ill ask in here as the main people in the know read this thread... wheres the best locations for the harness points on a 6 point harness? its in a r32 gtr and im running a fullcage and cobra fixed back seat so the main ones will go around the taxi bar, but what about the other 4 points? I found threaded holes for an eyelet on the sill side but no point on the tunnel side to connect one too. Unless i use the stud from the original seat mount? Then what about the points for the 5th and 6th points that run between the legs? should i just put it to a couple of eyelets that are mounted with a plate on either side of the floor pan for strength and bolted in? hopefully that makes sense, i just want to make sure i pick the strongest points possible and im sure others have set these harnesses up plenty of times.
  6. The box wont go they are running them in 8 and 9 sec cars over in the US, they are getrags, similiar to the supra 6 speeds and wayy stronger than any gtr 5 speed box that for sure. I think wayyy too people beleive the crap published in hpi etc and they dont have a clue. Its the transfer case on the early models which are known for going with big launches and higher power but you can buy a billet replacement case for under $1500au brand new and they are running 8s on them too SO much bullshit info with very little actual experience on these cars im afraid. Its as bad as trying to convince the yanks the gtr is a great car also. The motor is also stronger than a rb26 as well the yanks reckon 600awhp is the reliable limit of the stock internal bottom end if its in good health, dont think many 26s will go near that. Thats running 10s in a 1720kg car too, so no dodgy power figures.
  7. mitsubishi gto twin turbo. I have both a gtr and gto and the gto is smooth, very quick (low 13 sec car dead stock), awesome fuel economy (better than 10l/100km), very modern interior, great for cruising as it has low rpm on the freeway at 100kmh (2000rpm exactly) , has the most torque out of any import engine available (including the the lexus and nissan v8s) and gets heaps of looks and no cop attention because it doesnt look like a hoons car. Buy a decent condition one and it will be a great choice, i have a 1991 model and have had it for almost 3 years without any issues at all and done over 45000km in it. Oh and they have awesome modification potential for very little dollars as the yanks love em thats my 2c worth from owning one, the only thing lackin is the space to carry stuff, but i dont think a 300zx would be any different, and working on the motor isnt that fun but if you treat it well it shouldnt need to be played around with. throw some wheels on and lower it and it will look mint
  8. i know you were stirring, i dont think ive seen a non-stirring post from you yet. Yer i agree on brockas figures, he has pretty big cams so that should help alot, i think he has no port work on the head at all from memory? im thinking 575hp on the roller and 625hp or so on the hubber. Im keen on those precision turbos mentioned, they seem pretty good from what ive read up but cant find prices anywhere and any real solid info on them, like are they watercooled and ballbearing, t4 flanged, twin scroll?
  9. lol just because yours couldnt even crack 575hp on 25psi+ boost Put good quality bits in the motor and some good headwork/big cams and you will be suprised. Wait till its in a car again and new ecu with no misfire problems and then things will be alot different.
  10. thanks guys thats great help. I think the astra is one mentioned in the other thread. Ill have to look into it, the less stuff in the engine bay the better and will make engine removal and install alot easier.
  11. what did it make bubba? mine on 18psi has made 585rwhp with the 0.81 t04z on 98 pump fuel (Not on a happy hubber either lol). Brockas gt35 isnt exactly the same as what everyone else is running so dont know if his comparision is gonna be that clear, he is using the t4 housing on the 35 which surely effects results. But none the less will be good to see the difference.
  12. i tried a search on electric power steering pumps for aftermarket applications and nothing comes up, only mentions of using oem pump from the mr2, etc. Tilton searches bring up no mention either. Any chance on more details on where to buy the electric pumps and prices, work involved for a track only gtr?
  13. http://www.vividracing.com/catalog/enkei-r...43-p-24892.html# rpf1's (17x10) are $1115au from the US brand new plus delivery which wouldnt be anymore than 200 bucks, and they are light and a good brand. These are way cheaper from the US brand new than second hand in japan on yahoo auctions so dont waste your time looking in japan.
  14. Thanks mate, they are same as the nismo 400r wheels, and are called lmgt2. Im wondering whether to throw on the nismo front and rear bumpers now as i have the rest of the kit here but unsure at this stage. Even the nismo stagea has the same rims i have. The other pic below the nismo one is the front and rear bars im thinking of putting on, what do people think?
  15. www.proengines.com.au greg is a top bloke and he has no probs sending it to perth either. He supplies oil pickup as well to save any hassles, it fits with simple couple of mods to the block and highly reccomended as ive used one on my own engine.
  16. so who has a pic of the roof one or any idea what it is connected too or if its unboltable or fixed in the 260rs?
  17. i had an os giken quad plate and sold it for a npc twin plate, best decision i ever made. This NPC unit drives like stock its so smooth and handles over 450rwkw no dramas The os giken was a pain its just too light flywheel wise i reckon so u need to keep the revs up to take off or it stalls or bunnyhops. Definately not a street friendly clutch.
  18. ive also seen the fast pics and im 99% sure it shows some strengtheing across the roof area between the strut towers. Ive never seen it in real life so i dont know exactly what it is or if its able to be swapped into a non 260rs. Have you got any pics of the one that is just rear of the front x member? i have the one under the tailshaft tunnel but not the others on my rs4.
  19. i run individual egts in each exhuast manifold runner and cylinders 5 and 6 are not the hottest by a longshot on boost, only offboost, so i doubt very much they are the leanest. Im talking a 50 degree + in other cylinders compared to 5 and 6. This is with a stock 26 plenum and between 420 and 450rwkw. This is the same results on a friends car running a different turbo setup and motor combo but also stock plenum. I think this cylinder 6 is the leanest isnt indeed true when on boost, im sure when u let it idle down the plugs will show it is but thats because it is then not on boost. thats my 2c worth from real world testing not internet hearsay.
  20. Mike: no probs with loom rubbing as i have the underguard covers on still and they are not touching with a touch of work where one of the screws went in to hold it on. Darrin: Thanks mate for the advice, shes not as she used to be, only around 400hp at wheels now with new motor and turbo setup. Its not running front driveshafts because it doesnt need em (not loosing traction) but i do have the 4wd sump adaptor on it, and the rear isnt even that low, its actually on the highest circlip groove possible. Its supposed to be my daily now but been tinkering with it and im not too fussed about losing power its gotta look decent
  21. same as these... http://justjap.com/store/product.php?productid=17058 im chasing $160 delivered to anywhere in Australia. They are in the box in brand new condition and never been used. The box has been opened for a look but thats it. send a PM if your keen
  22. thanks Mike i cant lower the rear anymore until i sort out the clearance between coilover and wheel (they are 10"). Ive got a 5mm spacer on but its just not enough and rubs when i go up big curbs on an angle, but fine when driving around. I will pull abit of camber out of it and that will help, i need a wheel alignment too to check everything is ok. Im pretty happy with the look now, i got the nismo front and rear bumpers sitting here i could put on too but dont know if it needs em or if they will just create too much unwanted cop attention. I might paint em up and fit and see how they look.
  23. Hey Darrin any chance you have a cigarette lighter for sale? mines not workin and i want to try this gtech out instead of going to the drags lol
