  1. knore, I have had lengthy discussions with Sydneykid about the GT-RS set up. He confirmed that they are a very good turbo set up for a 3Ltr RB26. Apparently most of the GTR's using this set up are running the OS 3Ltr block. But it will be interesting to see how these will perform on a 2.7.
  2. R31Nismoid READ what I wrote. I recommended the GT40 and the T04Z. I merely stated that Ben ran a GT42R and at no point did I compare Ben's set up to StageZilla's. According to Ben the GT35R is a fairly small turbo for a standard capacity RB26 so using it on a 2.7 ????? . My advice; do the research ask someone in the know! Call a reputable performance center. There are places that make custom turbo's for specific set ups.
  3. MMMM, this list of parts looks a lot like "4 Door Gtr's" old parts list he had for sale! Anyway, I would look into the GT40 or the T04Z. Ben from Racepace runs the GT42R on his 3Ltr track GTR. But correct me if I'm wrong. With your camshaft set up at 11.35 lift generally means your car will not be that streetable. I spoke to 4 Door Gtr on the phone about his set up and he said it was far too lumpy for the street. If you really want to know about which turbo is best suited for your set up give Lance at Croydon Racing a call. Try their website too (www.croydonracingdevelopments.com). Hope this helps in some way!
  4. Parts need to be cleared to make room. All offers welcome.
  5. Hi people, due to some interest in this kit after it was withdrawn from the for sale section I have decided to repost it. All relevant information is posted below however if there is something that I have missed please do not hesitate to PM me. Item: Blitz twin turbo kit Kit includes: • TURBOS 3KT- still unsure about AR however part number is 3070MGA611 • MANIFOLDS (Stainless steel) • DUMP PIPE • WASTEGATES (32 mm) • OIL LINES • FULL PIPING (For 32 GTR) Car/ Engine: Suits R32 or R33 GTR Location: Melbourne SE Item Condition: The kit is in perfect condition however one of the turbo’s needs to be reconditioned. The other turbo is in perfect condition there is no shaft play at all. All the manifolds and waste gates are perfect. Reason for Selling:I want to get rid of the clutter in the garage. Price and Payment Conditions: This kit was initially advertised at a price that was pretty low; as I had a lot of bills to pay. However as I am in no hurry to sell this kit I am asking for $2900 ono. I will consider any reasonable offer but please keep in mind this is a full high mount 900ps twin turbo kit for a GTR. So please no ridiculous offers. Extra Info: I'm not sure how much a rebuild will cost as I never needed to get a quote. I replaced this kit with another kit I had lying around. Extra Info about the kit: The Turbo’s are KKK/Blitz 3KT high mount turbo’s, which are rated at 450ps each will make 900ps on twin set up. These turbo’s are more commonly used on Porsche 911 track cars. Able to be used for track or drag, these turbo’s can produce big end power with good response. NO TIME WASTERS PLEASE Pictures
  6. Here, Here! Well said Dayne! If you are on an apprenticeship chances are that you are on a pretty low wage. So I think that you are going to struggle to pay for general maintenance of any sport car; whether it’s a 180, GTST or a GTR. Also as previously mentioned you have to also factor in insurance, which is not really cheap. Another thing that is making life harder for people is the petrol prices. Performance cars are going to drink fuel and you are probably going to find yourself pretty broke at the end of the week. Having recently celebrated a birthday I feel much wiser and maybe I can pass down some of this recently acquired wisdom to you my padawan. I think you should get a neat little run around, EG. 1600, mini or a 240 and drive that until you finish your apprenticeship and when a bit more money comes your way reward yourself by buying your sports car. This way you have a bit of time to think about what car you would really want and it gives you something to work for. I hope this helps in some way!
  7. Why dont you just get an R33 GTST?
  8. "I thought you were innocent until proven guilty." Isn't that how the law works? If you contest the cop’s allegation, doesn't he have to prove beyond reasonable doubt that you were speeding. Cops booking people without a reading is very unjust and if a case like this went to court, the infringements should be dismissed.
  9. DUDE! $2500 installed! For an OS? I would get on it. That's a pretty good price.
  10. not doubting it **JaR**! But GTST owners are better off than GTR owners when it comes to modifying.
  11. Yea does, thanks Pete. Just wondering as that is pretty much the same for a set of 2530's as well. Anything over the 10.8 is a bit
  12. Hey pnblight, Using the 2560 turbos what is the largest cam lift and duration you would go?
  13. GTST, you have a point. It was a poor choice of words on my behalf. It's just that when something goes wrong with a GTR it usually always means huge $$$$$. God help you if your car is already modified and you need to replace some parts. But if you ask any owner of a GTR they will tell you that it's a money pit.
  14. With the single turbo kits there are a few options you have, but as far as response these turbo’s are a grey area for me. 1. Garrett GT35R with 0.82 housing is pretty good. It will get you to the 300 mark you are aiming for. There are a few members on this site going in that direction. Wouldn't hurt to read Shaun's post on his engine build up. http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...1&st=&p=entry Also you will have to source a manifold and gate. 2. HKS T04R. Do Luck is using it on their R34GTR. I will provide you with a quote from HPI magazine vol 40 GTR special #4. "Rated to support over 600ps, these are very popular bolt on kits in Japan. They are generally considered to be the largest kit you should fit to an RB26 with a standard bottom end" There are more turbo's on the market but I am unaware of any that is as responsive as these units. But having spoken to Sydneykid about this matter, he recommends the HKS 2530 units over single conversion. Personally, I agree with him!
  15. I don't follow what you mean? Do a Pauline Hanson and "please explain!"
  16. Get a set of HKS GT-SS. Super responsive turbo and it will easily get the 340rwkw.
  17. I think this question is pretty hard to answer! It depends what you are after. If you put the money you save from buying a GTST instead of a GTR into a GTST you will have a very quick car. GTST's are pretty easy to modify and there are a lot of parts on the market for them now. So I have to say the maintenance costs will be pretty low. A GTR on the other costs heaps to maintain and performance/standard parts a pretty pricy (Although recently prices have come down sufficiently). Even with the high costs associated with a GTR driving one is an absolute pleasure. I have a couple of friends that have bought GTST's instead GTR's. One bought a R33 GTST and is building it for drag and the other opted for a R34GTT. I know having said all this I'm going to cop a pasting from everyone. I personally believe that the decision depends solely on you. It all comes down to what you want and what your budget allows you to have.
  18. RB26 Manifold pic above! Have a look at 1st post.
  19. Sorry Baz crank not available
  20. My comment was made regarding its aesthetics. I totally agree I would not consider using this plenum. Gary, what do you think about the JUN plenum?
  21. For Datsun 1600's the whitline kits are on the money! However, I have not heard much about whiteline kits for skylines. So I'm neither going to bag it nor am I going to say it's good. The jap brands out there are pretty damn good! I have seen HKS hypermax kits go for around $1500 on these forums. I think this is a pretty good buy for a set of suspension that is touted as being one of the best drag suspensions going around. Maybe you should get a price on a good set of jap suspension eg. Tein, HKS, APEXI to name a few and then make your decision. But make sure you do the research. Ask around, as there are a few cluey guys here that might be able to help you.
  22. Neat looking plenum though!
  23. I'm inclined to agree with you there R31Nismoid.
  24. Cool, thanks for clearing that up Daniel I see your point. BUT I got to ask you a question. I just want your opinion. I'm not going to argue or anything I'm just interested. For a GTR or GTST aiming for the 300-400rwkw mark is it necessary to use a big single throttle body?
