Rather than starting a new thread i figure ill dig up this old one, does anyone know, how to properly re-trim the R34 door inserts/trim piece Going on the above, the old material needs to just be ripped out basically and the new stuff tucked into the trim piece. That said, how would you get the new vinyl/material, to stick to the curves of the door plastic? glue perhaps?

Shitty Series 1 R34 Interior Plastic Paint
RusH_ replied to 666DAN's topic in Exterior & Interior Styling
lol yeah, it has been covered in this thread, not trying to sound rude but its only a few pages back. Metho and a steel wool scourer will get it all off pretty easy, wash it off afterwards, dry it, then use plastic primer from Super cheap one or 2 light coats, then a paint also from super cheap, cant remember the brand, its been mentioned a few times throughout the thread. as many coats of paint as you feel necessary to get a nice even cover. (i did about 3 i think) -
YES one mofo did this to me last night, i was so freakin annoyed, and the lag was terrible, doesnt enter half of the button presses, makes doing a weave very difficult

Shitty Series 1 R34 Interior Plastic Paint
RusH_ replied to 666DAN's topic in Exterior & Interior Styling
Im pretty sure i wrote up step by step how to do this in this thread, as have a few other people, go back a few pages and have a look, if its not there, do a search for R34 interior or something similar, because i know i have explained it in detail at least 3 times in different threads. -

Shitty Series 1 R34 Interior Plastic Paint
RusH_ replied to 666DAN's topic in Exterior & Interior Styling
its not a solid black underneath, its sort of a sparkly gray color, so you will need to spray it black and then add gloss if you want the shine, but i think a matte black would look heaps better, someone in this thread has done it gloss black i believe -
well i can confirm that online lags, maybe its just my connection but it was pretty horrible.

auto train sucks balls, generally i can get a minimum of contender, the only training i really hate is the one where you have low health and have to stay on your feet, and the heavy bag push, because there is a buffer on your button presses, it ends up doing like 2 punches more in the wrong coloured zone on the bag, and it then ends up coming closer to me rather than moving forward. Gonna try online play tonight PS3 username is RusH_au for those who wanna go at it!

Short Shifter For R34gtt
RusH_ replied to BASHO's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Well driftshop.com.au sell a C's 'Design' short shifter, reducing throw by 30% and also a B&M short shifter, but neither say they are compatible with R34's I wouldn't mind getting one myself, but want to get something that is more than a 10% throw like the nismo one, im not sure if the one on RHD is the 10% or a 25% decrease in shift though. J34, mind telling us where you got yours? or did it come with the car? -

still hooked on fight night round 4, and a spot of KZ2 here and there, now that i have the HDMI cable hooked up i might go back and have a muck around with mirrors edge and GT5 Prologue again (till GT5 actually comes out)

is this necessary? each to their own, back on topic, the thread was going well for the first few pages with minimal chit chat and plenty of kits to choose from... shall we keep it that way? For those interested, here are some more pics of Cara's kit, it reminds me of the C-West front bar.

Here is my shot at the other photo and a comparison

Hey Turk, For this job, i created a duplicate layer and hid the original (just so i don't ruin the original in case i need to start over). I used the Clone stamp tool as opposed to the healing brush, and sampled cleaner areas of the car that had similar color to the area that i was using it on. I adjusted the Flow down until i got a level that wasn't sampling too much of the other parts of the car, but enough for the darker clean black to show up and just dotted the dirty areas slowly, some more than others. Once i was done sampling, some of the lines between the panels (ie: skirt to door, front quarter to door) were very difficult to make out, on a new layer i used the brush tool, set to 100% flow, using pure black color and a very fine point(maybe 3px or so but with feathered edges) and drew in the lines for the creases that seemed to have been sampled over or were just hard to see, i then duplicated the layer, changed the lightness of the layer to +100 in the hue and saturation menu to make it white, and moved it one pixel right/left/up or down depending on the direction of the light. Then just used the eraser on a large size (something like 50px with a feathered edge and flow down around 16% to rub away at the white and black lines i had drawn until they blended in enough to look like the actual lines of the car should. Finally i merged all of those layers once i was happy with it and duplicated the resulting layer, set the layer style to multiply to bring out the dark tones, decreased the opacity of that layer until i got a nice smooth black that wasn't too dark (just looking at the paint and not the rest of the image). Then used the eraser again on quite a large size, around 70px or so with a feathered edge, and on 100% flow to remove the majority of the out side of the image leaving just the car (keep in mind the original merged layer is still back there). And to finish, i decreased the eraser size to a few different sizes using around 30% flow, depending on the area i wanted to erase, and started rubbing the paint sections back where there were reflections, as well as through the window and on the driver, the rims, headlights, tail lights, just anywhere that should be shiny. And that is is for the most part, i probably made some alterations here and there, i think i added a gradient down the bottom to create the shadow you would see going under the car, but that is the gist of it. -Steve
