A very nice one exists atm, but it comes with a hefty price tag, its made by east bear and costs around the $550 mark just for the lip They also have a few more styles of lip, but i believe they are only suited to certain front gtt front bars, no doubt they could be customized to fit though

To Carbon Bonnet Or Not To Carbon Bonnet?
RusH_ replied to stenve's topic in Exterior & Interior Styling
personally, i love the carbon bonnet, carbon boot look, and you car looks great, i second having black rims, and possibly carbon mirrors (budget allowing for all this carbon) but i've always loved the carbon on white effect My love of carbon aside, if you want it all to remain under the radar, then painting the lot white would be the way to go, it just seems a shame to paint such a nice weave -

There is no denying that the Top secret gtr style bar to suit a gtt is hot, but i've always thought it was missing something, that something is a front lip like on the gtr version Allan, Is it possible that you guys would consider making a lip to go with that front bar? Is anyone else interested in a lip for it

I really didn't want to jump on board with this, but you are now simply contradicting yourself, re-read that statement that i highlighted in bold, then re-read what your initial posts said, initially it was that an expensive cable is better and will deliver better 'quality', now it is that the cheapie cable may have been fine originally but you bought an expensive one just to be sure that it will work. So it's either, the expensive cable is better because it provides a better quality of image and sound, or it's better because you think that it is less likely to break/get damaged. I think the general consensus with most things is that you pay more as you expect to get better build quality, but for something that is put under minimal stress at best, for the wider market, a cheap cable will do the job, and an equal level of quality. Comparing HDMI cables to Turbos is ridiculous, totally different kettle of fish. Here are just a few of the many results that turn up in google when looking for a comparison between and expensive and a cheap HDMI cable, there is not a lot of support for the big name big price cables to be found. http://uk.answers.yahoo.com/question/index...03162558AAaTtpp http://stuff.tv/forums/thread/33821.aspx http://www.popularmechanics.com/technology...de/4235717.html http://uk.answers.yahoo.com/question/index...14075037AAq9seT http://uk.answers.yahoo.com/question/index...08144553AAjU9Fy At any rate, the cheapie cable that i am using now works brilliant, delivers beautiful picture and audio. Use what you feel works best, but for the record, there is no substantial evidence that i can find that proves an expensive cable to be any better than a cheap one.

Alright, for those interested, I took the cable back today and tested it, sure enough the cable didn't work, I was given another free of charge, took it home, plugged it in, and presto, PS3 picked it up right away, had to reset the Display settings by holding in the 'On' button when turning the system on (for those who didn't know about that) Now just have to get the lady off the tv so i can play some Fight Night round 4 Cheers for all of the input guys
-
Thanks, i hope so too, will update it as soon as i have news. I have played it in HD before, just not my own, and it has been sometime since i have last played in HD, hence i cannot remember what kind of visual difference it has, no doubt im biased to Sony more so than Microsoft, but i try and be as open as possible, that said, i don't want this thread to turn into some fan boy rant between consoles as i can appreciate each for what they are, and personally prefer the PS3.
-
yeah i have only been playing in standard def, although the component cables allow up to 1080i which looks pretty nice, but since i have the ability to use a HDMI cable id like to make sure it works, even if the difference is only minor between 1080i and 1080p (this im not too sure of) I will also give the ports a clean, the one on the tv i imagine should be immaculate being brand new, but its quite possible that the ps3 port is somewhat dusty as i've had it for near on a year. and fingers crossed its a faulty cable, will most likely take it back and have it tested tonight
-
ah thats not a bad idea, i think i might do this
-
Ok, just to clarify, I have tried connecting it both ways, using both the HDMI and the avi and just the HDMI cable on its own.
-
Damn that sux Have you tried using a different HDMI cable yourself? and when you connected the PS3 to your mums tv, did it detect that a HDMI device had been connected?
-
My reason for thinking its not the cable is as i said, the ps3 still detects a HDMI device as being connected. I have used both component cables and the usual avi cables, both work fine. The reason for using both the avi cables and the hdmi is to start it in avi, then switch channels when using the method of starting with the avi cables, going into the display settings and changing it to HDMI output and then switching input channels on the tv. As i said unfortunatly i have no other HDMI devices, and i don't happen to know anyone with a HDMI cable that is close enough to use. I may have to just go and buy another cable to test that theory, The PS3 itself hasn't missed a beat, and the TV is only about 1 week old, So id like to explore other options and hear from those who have a similar problem, and hopefully fixed it.

I have searched mate, if you can supply a link ill gladly change my price, that said, this is brand new, it doesnt have a box but came right out of the case when i bought it and has been boxed ever since.

unfortunatly i havent got any other hdmi devices, The thing that throws me is that with the cable plugged in, it detects that there is a HDMI device attached, but it just doesnt seem to want to display anything (or audio for that matter), the only other thing i can think of is to try another cable at this point, but even then, i dont see why it would detect the device if the cable was faulty,
