Could be a bad batch, when Vortex98 first came out we had a car towed into work with half a tank of water after filling up on it.

Also keep in mind that the tests where probably done at room temperature not at the temperatures often seen by brake hoses (you should all know rubber gets softer with heat). Also with braided hoses being silver wouldn't they be less susceptible to transfering heat to the brake fluid. Carlos

Check your revs/speed in fourth with your mates cars, it may have a non turbo box in it. They have shorter ratios except for fourth which is still 1:1. Carlos

Fit R32 GTR rear calipers to the standard HR31 discs, that's what i done with my upgade. Only sign of lock up is from the front under extreme braking although i haven't investigated it much. Carlos

Is it possible to get the dimensions of the Air Con condensor? Height , width of the core & width of mounting points. Also would you have any of the Air Con hoses? Carlos

I've got a similar noise on my HR31 coupe after fitting R32 GTR brakes, seems to be coming from both sides, i've pulled the pads out a couple of times & can't see anything abnormal, still investigating as i've only had the brakes on for a couple of weeks. Carlos

Just buy a motor & ecu a lot cheaper when you have everything else. All the guages work perfectly in a HR31 with the R32 senders, except the tacho there is a small mod that will allow it to work. You will need a different top radiator hose (i used Datsun 1600/180B). If you car doesn't have ABS you may have clearance issues between the disc & lower control arm & have fun finding wheels with the right offset & enough caliper clearance (i am). Carlos

I have spare crossmember that i want to modify the outer brackets to be the same as the inners & run a second eccentric bolt. I've done a couple of measurements & worked out that the bushes are different, so the outer bushes will need to be replaced with bushes for the inner. Carlos

xr8eater, Aus R31 with A/C (twin core); 660mm wide, ~510mm high overall (core is 400mm high), 34mm thick core, but the top mounts are different. R32 RB20DET & RB26DETT (from R32 engine manual) 646 wide, core 380mm high, 25mm thick. So there is a great improvement if it will fit. Carlos

Roy, whilst reading this thread i was going to suggest maching the pads. With the pad backing plates as mentioned they are only there to reduce sqeal, when i was working at Mitsubishi we used to remove them & apply CRC anti-squeal instead as they contributed to brake shudder, also i've removed them on my on cars & noticed improved pedal. It's an oil to water cooler that mounts to the engine block where the oil filter screws on & the oil filter (standard) screws onto it. It has a heat exchanger which the engine coolant goes through. It's orignal oil cooler on RB25DET's that i bought to fit to my RB20DET silvertop but hits the coolant pipe under the inlet manifold. Krzysiu, what do you mean by rails? Carlos

I have a RB25DET oil/water cooler for sale $50, does not fit R32 RB20DET, should be ok for RB30. I'm in Sydney, can post at buyers expense.
