  1. stocko wheels? ewww! ive got 17's, F 235/45, R 255/40. this is a very good point you make, you might be onto something. i think 40 and 45 refer to the mm measurement of the sidewall, therefore: rolling circumference = F 1.642metres, R 1.611metres. i have measurements inside my door, which i assume may be stock. 16's, F 205/55, R 225/50. rolling circumference = F 1.452metres, R 1.436metres you are definitely onto something. stock at 110kmh... = F 124kmh, R 123kmh (with 17's sizes) FUDGE! maybe i really was doing 122... but im still going to take it to court and probably win because of the other guy in the citroen. in fact, today i just destroyed the prosecution and got off a burnout! representing myself lol. what an excellent submission! i hope other people will take this into consideration. maybe the cop wasnt such a monkey lol.
  2. not sure mate, dark blue maybe black. i believe it was a 2door 3 series. but that is a slightly educated guess only.
  3. well i assume he was wearing a recorder of some description. halfway into the piece i got the shits with something he said, so just to be a smartass i asked if he was recording it. he said he was, and i asked why he didnt feel it necessary to advise me of such, he claimed he didnt need to... either way, the recording, if admitted in court will back up my story, because i vehemently denied all wrongdoing. and if they dont admit it, then they will look like fktards when i tell the magistrate of how they illegally recorded me.
  4. i didnt say i was an idiot for the tyres. like most people i cant just throw $600 at some new rubber when they look slightly worn. there is still reasonable tread on the shoulders, its in the center where they are getting low. i do look at them sometimes, but seemingly glancing at the shoulder is not enough. mind you ive only had them for 15000km, and i am not prone to burnouts. youre right re: legal advice. but part of the reason i posted this is so hopefully people can learn from it, and not take shit from HWP in future. i often read posts about peoples experiences with police, and i wish i knew all this stuff sooner because it would have saved me a lot of hassle on the last few years.
  5. well actually i wasnt complaining about the tyre defect. "fair enough" would indicate this. i agree with you that they can be dangerous, but what is rather stupid is that theyre not actually forcing me to replace them, i just have to pay a $79 fine. im pretty sure i will get over that... and the state gov will enjoy my money more than i ever could... i also realise bald tyres can void insurance, so it is in my best interests to replace them. right after i use them for mad launches at WSID. "when they get caught"... mate i WASNT speeding. im pretty sure you would have the shits if you got booked for some other wanker who OVERTOOK me right in front of the cops. and then pulled over all by himself! god, its not like i was street racing and complained that i was done while the other guy got away... thankyou for your bitter and largely unhelpful input. kind regards to everyone else.
  6. thankyou. the car is not particularly hoonish, its a nice clean r33, although he didnt walk around the front to see the fmic and all that crap. and i agree completely re: court. i have been a few times now lol, and you can plainly see the disdain given to bogans by the magistrate/judge. whereas i wear a sharp suit, have a nice tidy haircut, and my speech is clear and articulate. mind you, in a past hearing, the police prosecutor pulled up info on his laptop about gtr's and rattled off all this rubbish about how the car is famed for street racing and other hoon activities (i own a gtst). and went on to suggest i bought the car so i could be a hoon. naturally, i had a chuckle to myself. and answered all his questions with straightforward "no, thats not correct". they usually try to make you angry and hope you make a misake.
  7. agreed. think rattling, loss of power, knocking, plumes of smoke, oil leaks.
  8. yes the revs probably did get up to 9-10000. i think its worse for your valves than your pistons, but if something let go it would probably have happened instantly and been catastrophic. so dont do it again lol. revs going up, but not speed, is generally a good sign of clutch slip.
  9. interesting, i was recorded by a cop today without him mentioning it/asking my permission. he didnt seem to think it was an issue.
  10. hello, i am from tahmoor. but i drive a black r33 so its not me giving you grief i swear. see my recent topic about the c**t purple ss.
  11. just a little "122" on the back of the HANDHELD lidar. which as we all know, could have been from any bloody thing and doesnt prove it was my car doing it. esp, with several other cars in close proximity.
  12. hopefully that was your clutch slipping. best possible result! burnt clutch smells like shit, i daresay thats what it was.
  13. well the way i figure it, if you let the clutch right out, there is nothing stopping the engine from doing say 10000rpm. the rev limiter wont prevent this, it only cuts the spark (or fuel?) in an attempt to drop the revs. remember, if the tyres are going 150kmh, this speed is transferred through the drivetrain, and then to the engine. in 2nd this would = 10500rpm. this normally results in compression skid, where the tyres lock up, or the engine doing 10000rpm momentarily lol.
  14. i dont understand what you mean at all. if i wasnt speeding why should i plead guilty? oh and i know what happens if you plead not guilty. they set a new date, wasting another 2 months, and call the cops in to give evidence. its nervewracking, since they are prone to lying, and the magistrates are prone to taking their word as fact. but i will demand to see the video footage, if they cant provide it... would seem rather sus, no? if nothing else, at least the cop will have to spend hours writing a stat dec, and look like a fool when i ask him tough questions in court. oh and worst case scenario is maximum fine and $70 court costs lol.
  15. hey i saw your car! i wasnt competing, but i would like to in a few weeks, 16th methinks. didnt see the mis-shift, and im no techhead but i have heard it can do all kinds of things such as valve-bounce, the piston coming up and smashing into the valve. of course that is just heresay, if its running fine i shouldnt be too concerned. not like that poor bmw that got towed. or whatever it was that shat its guts up the end and delayed proceedings. ill race you if i see you there again. mind you im expecting mid 12s with a 230-240rwkw R33.
  16. for failure to display p plates, twice, one of which was so trivial i got off in court. on friday, i am in court protesting a burnout that never happened and the cops couldnt have seen, even if it did happen! i better get off that or i will go berserk... and bonus, then i can claim repeated victimisation by police lol. i have terrible luck with cops. why do you think i should plead guilty? i dont believe i am. and when i pleaded "guilty with an explanation" to the p plate crap, i got off the fine but bloody rta still took my points. hence in this situation, i may escape the fine, but will still lose my licence.
  17. well well. today i was wrongfully booked for speeding. heading south on the f5 between narellan rd and picton rd, i was doing maybe 110. i rarely speed on the f'way. overtaking a few slower cars, i saw a green citroen come up behind me doing at least 130, probably more. as soon as i cleared the cars i moved over into the left lane, and about 5 seconds later noticed that fkn unmarked purple ss (anyone from around these parts will know it), on the side of the road behind some armco. although i am on P2 i wasnt worried and assumed i wouldnt be booked for 110, so i just tapped the brake and kept going. checked my speed, maybe 108. in this same few seconds, old mate in the citroen flew past me in the right lane... as we got closer friendly policeman leaps onto the shoulder and points at the citroen, which is now in front of me, indicating it to pull over. almost immediately the citroen merges in front of me, then slows down and pulls onto the shoulder and stops. i continue on my merry way, cursing the police and feeling sorry for the citroen. then to my horror, the partylights start up, and drive straight past the parked citroen and eventually catch up and pull me over. i thought it was some kind of joke, and indicated as such. policeman claimed i was doing 122 and he got me when i changed lanes. i said there is no way that was correct, knowing from past experience they rely heavily on you admitting guilt. i asked them about the citroen, and they said they had seen it, but apparently got me on the lidar, not him. cue bullshit about my exhaust being too loud (it isnt), defect for rear tyres (fair enough, they are almost slicks, but i have rego soon and was just waiting for that). the cop wasnt too bad, thankfully didnt check under my bonnet... but eventually came back with the 2 tin's, $238 and $79, and claimed if there was even 1% doubt over which car he caught, he wouldnt have booked me *loud scoff*. now, i fully intend to take it to court, even if only to waste their time, and hopefully get my full licence in the interim (because this will be a suspension otherwise). but im actually confident i will get off it because: -no sign before the radar trap, which reeks of revenue raising, not safety. -cop claimed i was changing lanes when he "got me", therefore its a moving target, AND changing lanes TOWARDS the lidar will obviously cause a higher reading than your actual forward speed. (lane change of 4m/s = 14.4kmh) -the citroen pulled over and stopped all by itself, how big an admission of guilt do you want? -the cop didnt tell me our discussion was being recorded, until i made a point of asking. -the cops said they had no video of me being "caught", but it is my understanding that there should be footage of them once they switch their lights on. therefore, they will have captured the citroen pulling over, but they chose to ignore it and target me. (there should be no excuse for a failure to produce this footage) -i vehemently denied all wrongdoing in the recorded interview. -the defect penalty for the tyres doesnt actually indicate i have to replace them, its just a fine, which again reeks of revenue raising with no regard for safety. any advice welcome!
  18. i actually got told off for this once near cronulla beach. lucky they didnt try it on because i was ready to bolt lol. mind you, that same afternoon me and my mates were harassed by a bunch of sick k**tz, and sure enough there were no copz around to see the end result of me being punched in the face. funny story about defecting, well not funny, it makes my blood boil. one night i was approaching two cops on the side of the road, after making a racket for the previous few streets. i figured they would have heard me, so i turned off right in front of them and made my exit. unfortunately it was a very long cul-de-sac, so i just stopped up the end and sat there, too scared to go back out where the cops were. they arrived about 2min later, charged me with burnout (which never happened and is still in court lol) and attempted to defect me, but were too dumb for that. anyway, in court, when i explained why i sat in the cul-de-sac. i said i feel targetted by police, and i was worried they would attempt to defect me. which is surely a reasonable fear all skyline owners have.... BUT NO. in the magistrates eyes, that was a ludicrous explanation and sufficient grounds to find me guilty of a burnout! never mind the police proving my claims in their statements by... SEARCHING MY CAR FOR DEFECTS. which is not normal practice at all. oh and i also had a local rag article about a recent blitz/s (9 in 2 months from memory), quote: "Police targetted vehicles with loud exhausts, signalling them to stop, and issuing EPA notices and defects." cops huh.
  19. man i fkn hate when 4wds do shit like this! maybe its because i am secretly envious of them having more than 70mm of clearance lol.
  20. LOL april fools you fkrs!
  21. sorry, forgot to mention the typical ignorance of the fact that the vast majority of "hoons" drive commodores. but i guess a speeding house-on-wheels doesnt pose a threat to society now does it? its the turbo that comes along and sucks up a preschool and a petting zoo through its deadly imported fins.
  22. omfg you guys are fkd! terrorist cell...what a crock of shit. seriously though, i have never seen organised crime anywhere on this site. have you? ive had my car for more than 12 months, and have not heard of, or seen, any kind of organised street racing. and yet apparently south west sydney is a "hotspot". maybe they are referring to my small street which is woken up everytime i come home late at night lol.
  23. bit harsh perhaps. i would be reluctant to tsunami ladyfolk, or people wearing suits, imagine if it was you lol. that said, my dream tsunami moment would be a mass of teenyboppers waiting outside a nightclub. paint their blinding fluoro clothing with good old fashioned mud!
  24. how bizarre. thanks for your input! i think i may replace the diff down the track, but i guess having taller ratio would be good for highway, but standard ratio would be better for acceleration. im still not convinced my car is abnormal though lol. maybe the speedo is just out a bit haha.
  25. welcome to SAU! i trust you will find it very friendly and informative. i have recently been discovering the benefits of trading over here, and have bought and sold many items successfully now! enjoy, mitch
