after an hour of searching and reading i figured id just ask the question. R33 GTS25t, KKR430, injectors, exhaust, pod, ff plenum, fmic, z32 afm, remapped ecu, greddy profec b ebc, walbro fuel pump, splitfires my car is going pretty well with the remap i finished today, however i am losing boost in the top end for some bizarre reason. the boost gets up to about 18-19psi before 4000rpm, and holds that to about 5500rpm, then it gradually falls to 14-15psi. i dont think that constitutes spiking does it? it holds 18 for some time before falling. ideally i want 17-18psi right through, but i have been fiddling with the profec b incessantly to no avail. i realise you would normally increase gain in this case, but ive already got it up to about 25%, and its not really any different to when its on 10%. i read that if the standard solenoid is still attached it can bleed 2-3psi? anyone heard of this? the standard solenoid is near the back of the plenum right? i thought maybe the wastegate actuator was loose, but its spooling up pretty hard and seems to hold 18psi until the revs get quite high. i guess i can try another half turn of tension. also, im not sure about this, but from research, my set being at 70% seems ridiculous. and sounds very high to get only 18psi. help greatly appreciated! thanks guys!

Questions Regarding Turbo Selection For Rb25det
gt-ahhh! replied to Housie's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
dude i have similar set up but mines a dog. im hoping my ebc and stock ecu remap will fix it. full boost not till 5000+rpm = ridiculous. whats your boost control? i reckon it must be the wastegate leaking, but the actuator looks the same as the old hks one i had on my stock turbz? i would kill for response. -
man i dont get turbos and wastegates. maybe a screamer pipe will assist my understanding.

hello, i just paid $165 to get a greddy profec b ii installed. naturally i was very excited and couldnt wait to try out my new gadget. attempting to set the thing up was irritating at first, because i didnt seem to be able to get very good live readings, and the peak boost results were often ridiculous, ranging from 1.6psi, to 23.5psi, despite the car not feeling any different on either run. i have searched and figured out the tuning now, thanks to a very helpful guide i found. but turns out the ebc was set up all wrong. the hoses to the actuator and the compressor housing were the wrong fkn way around! and the pressure sensor was ludicrously connected to the "NC" (which is for external wastegate). i have no idea how you can get it so fkn wrong! clearly the pressure sensor should be connected to something pressurised.... like the manifold maybe... i have a question though, the manual says "NO" to the compressor housing, and "COM" to the actuator (internal gate). i changed it to this because it was the other way around, but i just want to confirm its correct if anyone knows. oh and the pressure sensor connects to the fuel pressure regulator right? now i have to try and dial in 18psi with the stupid % set boost function. what is with that? lol at modifying cars. need some splitfires too. anyone know of performance coilpacks in blue or yellow (to match my engine bay)??

Z32 Afm's With Plugs
gt-ahhh! replied to rb26s13's topic in For Sale (Private Car Parts and Accessories)
can i have a plug for $30? -
HAHA you got the maintaining part right! ive had my car for 18 months now, and am only now in a position to spend a bit on mods! well not really, i still owe 15k on it, but ive been waiting ages to do these mods! 2 blown engines and a turbo didnt help. oh and wheel bearings, clutch, tyres... fkn price of petrol! what a joke.

i think what hes getting at is something about p platers not being able to drive 6cyls with engine modifications or similar. i read something along those lines recently. i think what he wants to know is how they determine an "engine modification". i dare say it would be anything that improves the performance of the engine. pod filter inc. seb88y, are you allowed to drive turbo or not? i seriously wouldnt waste money on modding a average car, whats the point? if you want a bit of fun get a pulsar sss or something. i think they had sr20s in them. saw one "streetracing" at about 40 clicks on today tonight a few days ago! sick bro!

surely someone knows?

want to find out where i can get a top secret style front bar! for R33 GTSt S1 any good second hand ones going? or anyone know of a supplier? pref nsw, can arrange pickup. cheers, mitch
-
so i need a new front bar, a saw a pic of one which is apparently a "top secret" style for s1 r33 gtst problem is, i cant seem to find it anywhere! i tried just jap, carmate and psi parts. i also found "top secret imports", but their page has nothing on it, so i sent them an email. does anyone know where i can find one, and how much $$$ ? nsw preferred. cheers, mitch PS: i tried to search many times but its not working. so i trawled through this forum and couldnt find anything very useful.

haha i read the above reply just now. guess it kinda outdid my response, but admittedly i have had several beers, give me a break!

dude those pics are so whacked i dont even know what im looking at. try taking a pic from a normal angle lol i would say its similar to mine (3in bellmouth dump), but i cant really see it, and i dont recognise the wleding or the flange.

- police will probably assume it is turbo, and so you will be harassed since there will be p plates on it. any person with reasonable mechanical knowledge who looks under the bonnet will notice the turbo, along with the manifolds and piping. - my understanding is that even if you remove the turbo the car will still be registered as a turbo model, and so youll still be stuffed. not to mention the high cost involved. - im not sure how you will go, but you arent legally allowed to drive the car and so shouldnt be able to get insurance since it would be void anyway. even for a 20yo licensed driver insurance would probably be over $2000. and is therefore not worth paying. - metro area = bad. more police...more chance of getting caught. ill stop short of saying you should just drive it anyway, you might never get caught, but its rather irresponsible and youd be f**ked if you had an accident. its not worth it. either buy it now and wait till you can drive it legally, or wait a few years to buy one. trust me, there will be no shortage of R33s in the next few years. hell you can have mine, ill give you 18 months to come up with the $15k i want for it lol.

if you look in the forced induction section you will find loads of info to answer your many questions. http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/Fo...erforma-f8.html you will need a few mods to make 220+rwkw to get started: -full exhaust -pod filter (preferably with some way of getting cold air to it) -front mount intercooler -fuel pump then to get 220+rwkw you will have to look at($$$): -more boost (bigger turbo) -engine management (new ecu, or remap the stock one) more power again($$$): -injectors -manifolds -cams -internals just a basic rundown, i think most people would more or less agree with my assessment.

R33 Gts-t 205rwkw > 280rwkw. Best Method/possible?
gt-ahhh! replied to r33 chris's topic in General Automotive Discussion
upgrade the turbo fo sho! im told the injectors can handle about 250rwkw so youll need bigger ones. i run a forward facing plenum. not sure how much difference it makes, but worth researching i guess.
