hey guys just wondering if any you guys would know anything about coil overs on s13s (obviously) i have some jap deep dish wheels on the front and stockos on the back.. on the drivers side the wheel sticks out further than the passenger side, is there any way to fix this at all.. also last nite i put the deep dish on the rear and its sitting out a fair bit.. like 2-3cm out of the gaurd and this really concerns me as they are only 205's. would this be because of the design of the rim and where the actual studs go in.. meaning the std ones the studs sit at the very face of the rim and in the deep dish they sit furhter back into the rim? (if u know what i mean) they rae tein ha's and the front has as much camber as possible (bought car this way) possibly to allow the to actually fit in the gaurds? this is also a concern as i want to fit some bigger rims soon (8inch rears) and the suspension seems "un-aligned" anyway.. does any one know of this problem at all.. any one know how to fix it or cause? thanks guys.

i think, dont shoot me if im wrong.. usually there is a 27% drivetrain loss??? just subtract 27 or %% from your crank/flywheel or what ever figure

if map sensors were so bad then all aftermarket ecu's wouldnt come with map sensors in the first place.. you only UPGRADE to aftermarket ecu's not down grade.. at a given power stage a afm will become a restriction weather it be 600rwkw or not, at some point it will end up restricting power or the abilitly to tune.

RB20 Cheap turbo upgrade.. few questions
rbs13 replied to Cool Hand Luke's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
yea.. seems to be common practice to put a rb25 turbo on rb20... but anyway.. yea sorry was a td06.. where i got rx6 from is beyond me hehe. you can compare 2000 for your motor to 10000 for us ppl with rb20's but only you can get it built and goin for 2000 not every one!! and if we could im sure a lot of people would be driving round with 300rwkw rb30/25s with 3037's or some thing.. -
big boost with bigger turbo.. maybe... with the extra .4l the turbo would spool up quicker also it would drive better off boost.. more torque..

RB20 Cheap turbo upgrade.. few questions
rbs13 replied to Cool Hand Luke's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
wtf aiming too high for 250rwkw on a rb20.. your nuts mate :Djms have their drift 1via making round 250 with rx6 with std internals but good tuning i bet.. but i think that car gets put through utter crap when it gets taken out! i firmly belive that 250 is made pretty easy but it would take care ful tuning to make it reliable. rb's have low compression so it should be alright with taking 1.3-1.4 bar boost with good premium fuel etc. -
how much do rb26 rods and a crank cost these days???

Oil - Air seperators; what sort of gains?
rbs13 replied to Cool Hand Luke's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
instead of having the cam cover hose going to the plenum make it go to the oil catch can and on the other cam cover the one going to the intake just make that go to the oil catch can as well.. theres that way or.. leave the one in the plenum and make the intake hose go to the catch can instead.. if ya know what i mean?? -
not sure on how to acheive 200rwkw but hoping to get that soon in my silvia rb20.. but just a question how did you find having a big fmic and std turbo?? was it laggy? worth it or not? thinking of buying one but not sure if to wait till i get a bigger turbo first like an rb25 one. im pretty sure you will reach 200rwkw.. maybe get adjustable fuel reg to make sure fuel is ok.. and depending how hard ya drive maybe a fuel pump.. just to be sure!!!

What turbo for my RB20DET buildup?
rbs13 replied to rb20-calais's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
i would go 2540.. if you want more hp later.. which im sure you will .. you could get a xtr or what ever equilavent and get them to build it to your specs.. the only real good thing about hks turbos over their garret base is that they come into their own world when boost is increased.. if you only wanna run 1.0 bar i would stick with something garret produce, the hks badge adds about 600-1000bux! you could get the same exhaust housing the 2530 uses (same size a/r ratio or what ever) and then put on a bigger compressor housing to get a quick boost response/spool up and with the bigger compressor housing it will flow a bit more at the top.. talk to a turbo specialist about your wants and needs.. you could end up happier.. -
the knowledge base in this forum astonishes me
rbs13 replied to badman's topic in General Automotive Discussion
i can say i have around 100 or so magazines in my room which i constantly read over and over and learn stuff that way.. i started get interested in cars in year 12 and from then on it was cars cars cars.. probably why i didnt do too well.. i read a lot of technical stuff on forums no matter what its to do with.. doing stuff/mods to your own car helps the most also helping mates with their cars goes along way.. japanese = jibberish to me.. still i bought a couple of option magz... for the pics haha -
i just bought a rb20et silvia. has fuel pump. adjustable reg, exhaust, boost controller and some tuning by sub zero (dunno if i should be worried or not ) and made 220.5rwhp. with a upgraded clutch and 4.8 diff gears its heaps of fun!!!!
-
i think you can use rb26 crank and rods and get some 86/87 or so MM pistons to make your rb20det into a 2.4L.
-
i got a rb20det silvia... one thing... rb20's sound mad! i think the s14 has better performance cause its lighter (maybe?) both motors are fairly good, respond well to mods. both cars will handle really well with shocks/springs etc. i would go with the s14..looks newer chicks love em haha. but r32s can be made to look like gtrs.. and with the right money would go like one.. i guess its really up to you.. 200sx has way better interier looks wise
-
hey mate. good stuff i just bought a s13 rb20det and i tell you what.. its too fast for me at the moment..well not too fast but at the moment i only got stock rims on the back and it fishies at over 100kmh.. be carefull!
-
im doin the same... bought a s13 with rb20det.. so far its got 1 bar boost (std turbo) reco lsd, big fuel pump and reg, 3inch zoorst, clutch and boost controller.. im hoping to get into the 12s.. im thinking get a vl t3 cause they bolt on and just get that high flowed using t04 internals maybe different compressor housing?? also fmic, cam gears and then maybe computer.. if i can get tractioni mite get lucky... the guy im buying it off thinks that with traction a 12 would be possible as is!!! not too sure about that.. guess ill find out when i get it! probably best geting r33 gtst gear box as well.
