  1. +4 get your wheels balanced
  2. In your boot, under carpet, should be like a aluminium cover and wiring harness going into this, take cover off, remove harness plug, there's the fuel sender. It's either held in by many 10 or so mm bolts or one big plastic/steel nut that holds the whole fuel sender unit down. Haven't taken one out of a skyline yet, sometimes takes abit of manuvering to actually get the sender unit out, careful not to bend the float arm. (take note how/where it sits before u remove it, making it sit differently when refitting may affect sender unit's float sensor (baffle plate may obstruct it from moving fully down, etc)). Final point, try not to enjoy the fumes too much, haha. :laughing-smiley-014:
  3. thanks for that jmaac! Downloading the 32gtr manual.
  4. have u ever seen the guage point at anything other than full? slight possibility intank float stuck? have seen a few cars bugger up like that what u've discribed.
  5. I could have easily made the same mistake. Didn't even realised there were two 'vortex's....
  6. Should be ok to drive on. Just putt around and don't boost it.
  7. Alrighty, thanks red7, i'll give them a try. Nice to know im not alone..haha.
  8. Very nice, them dc5s are hot! Anyways back to the original post, what was also covered was, any decent full synthetic will do if ur gonna drop the oil every 5000kms.
  9. Exactly what i was thinking! haha Sold!
  10. The thing with importing is that you don't really get to see what ur getting, which sucks/scary. I imported myself a gtr from asianway. They're a nice bunch of people, reasonably priced too. And extremly quick. From time of winning auction to time it landed in port of brisbane was 2.5 weeks! Piece of advice, if importing, try finding a car in the same city as ur agent's. My gtr was in the same city as my agent and he personally went there and inspected the car for me. (which turned out to be a pretty clean car) If not, agent can only go by inspection sheets and couple of photos. Buying from local importer definately safer. Have fun!
  11. hi guys, happy chinese new year for all who celebrates! Anyways...the rain has been good to me today and spared me one day without rain...not that i dislike rain...i just don't like rain while im tryin to work on the cars. So I opened up the ecu and found where the 'mystery switch' leads to. So have a look-see and let me know whut u know/think. Thanks guys.
  12. Hahaha..yeah it happens. You'll find that using gloves sometimes is worse off...unless you have a whole box of them right next to you.
  13. It's always cheaper to get it reco'd but finding a decent place is always the problem. When done properly works as good as a new one. With ur belt check if it's got cracks, easier to look at the ribbed side, worn/feathered bits along the side or faces of the belts, replace. From brisbane so couldn't tell you a decent auto elec.
  14. Go stock
  15. More power to ya bro...this is exactly why i don't buy anything from those types of places.
  16. Ahhh...interesting...not that i want to disable the rev limiter....well...not like i ever hit the rev limiter...but still..interesting.
  17. haha NO!!!!!~~~ Nah i'll prolly get to it sometime this week (if it stops raining). Do i need to be warned about anything from unplugging the ecu for a sort/long period of time (like a day)? Like will i lose my current tune, need to reset anything, stuff like that?
  18. haha comes to me as something Ralph Wiggum would say...."Ms Hoover, I have no coolant left", "Why Ralph, blown head gasket?", "No, I drank it all, it doesn't taste very good". I crack myself up sometimes...hehe.
  19. Hi guys, Upon putting my ecu on diagnostic mode found a mystery switch that leads to the ecu. Thought it might be a diagnostic mode switch, wasn't that, no noticeable changes while driving and turning switch on/off. Sure is a mystery. Also when i imported the car, as far as i knew it had a stock ecu. Now the ecu looks stock but it has "Intec Racing Tech" on it. I tried googling up it but didn't find anything in terms of 'Intec racing ecus'....weird...prolly just sticker. Anyways back to original topic (haha...i hijacked my own original post topic), anyone able to shine a light on this mystery switch? - Thanks!
  20. The fixed camera on the pacific motorway around the marshal rd exit/birdwood rd on ramp is now functional. Been happily snapping away.
  21. Hi guys and girls, My baby's sick...I have a 32gtr everythings stock. Cold start drive on highway for half hour, no dramas. Stop for couple hours, start up again no dramas for about 20 mins...then the surging begins. So i keep the revs up, say around 4k rpm 4th gear doin 100km/h, still light throttle, very faint surging. Shift to 5th, back to 'harder' surges. Sounds like (and don't laugh) bib bib bib bib bow....bib bib bib bib bow.... So i pull over on exit and stop...idles for 2 secs then stalls. Start up, no probs for rest of 15 mins drive home. Has happened multiple times in past week exactly like that (weird, i know). 95% of my driving is under light throttle, i barely ever hit boost. Been reading up and alot and most people point finger at afm/s. I've read the diy on how to fix. Am gonna chop it up this weekend. Was wondering if anyone could possibly point finger at any other things they think fit this problem. Thanks heaps, Michael
  22. Yeah he works at Toowong Smash on Sylvan Rd. He was selling it tho, like a few months back, haven't seen it since. So im guessing someone bought it?
  23. I feel like i should care more...but...i don't really hey. But it sucks that he left his little girl behind...i feel sad for her more than anything.
  24. Also a heads up if ur gonna use sikaflex...when spreading evenly and in the most cleanest way, use ur finger with spit on it, first date lubricant (spit ) repels sikaflex good. (not that i break enuf things to know this.... ) White spirits cleans up excess sikaflex pretty good.
  25. If it's stuck on with sikaflex, it's stuck on for good. Like oblivion said...bit of a cleaning job if u want it off, especially if it's on something plastic like headlamp lense.
