qld For sale- New Bosch 044

For sale- New Bosch 044 Hi All, I'm selling a brand new Bosch 044. I was going to use it for a project, but plans changed. Located Sunshine Coast QLD. Can post at additional cost to buyer -
Don't bother replacing the springs mate. Just save up a bit and replace with a complete new set of Coilovers, you'll be happy that you did. Can't speak for other brands, but I have HSD coilovers. I can't fault them and when I purchased them you can select your spring rate as well (not sure if they still do that these days). They are affordable and from memory have 3 different models varying from bargain basement to track specific. http://www.otomoto.com.au/Listing/Filter/?categoryId=4037303&brandId=2021657&sortItem=0&sortDirection=0&page=1

Integrated Surge Tank Pumps Vs Externally Mounted Pumps
r33cruiser replied to GD51LA's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
500-550hp goal. Currently maxed out at 430rwhp before the tuner claimed my injectors were maxing out. Are in-tank pumps really a viable alternative to surge tanks, do they perform well these days under g-loads? I know I've been out of the game for a good 3-4 years now, but if they are, well damn-i'll buy one tomorrow. Quick note- this is not a dedicated track car, not a daily, just a toy that sits in the garage for the odd track & skid day. -
Integrated Surge Tank Pumps Vs Externally Mounted Pumps
r33cruiser replied to GD51LA's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Anyone else installed one of these integrated surge tanks? I've had a bit of work done at East Coast Customs and the only think holding me back now is my fuel supply. New fuel rail, turbosmart reg and Bosch 1000cc'ers have been purchased. But the team were chatting to me about fuel supply from the tank. From what I've researched there are three schools of thought (keep in mind I'm staying on 98): 1-External tank and pumps (I'm not interest in stuffing around with this) 2- Surge tank mounted in boot with 2 pumps (most likely 044's) 3- Install integrated surge tank with pumps in it on the rear shelf in the r33 boot I like the idea of option 3, it is neat and tidy and can hide behind the fabric partition in the rear boot near the battery tray. Option 2 is probably the most common, but I don't like the idea of the pumps and tank being so exposed if the boot is opened. My car is essentially a sleeper with practically no external modifications to avoid unwanted police attention (and clean skylines are rare these days). -
I can't see why not. My setup was the same (excluding forged internals), it was so long ago, but I think it was about 270-280rwkw with the GT35r on a chinese manifold at about 16psi. Lasted for 2 or so years before the engine upgrade. I thrashed the crap out of it too, but maintained it very well. No dramas with the engine itself when my builder stripped it. The only issue we had was a crack in the manifold which was to be honest, expected. Not to be a dick, but seriously, have a search on this forum. There is so much information at your fingertips. It was a goldmine when I was in your shoes.

Yep. If you are looking to go down the built engine road there will be many costs that you have to take into consideration. Its the small things like: bearings, electrical work, you might have to replace stock parts like the C.A.S, thermostat, you might need to do some custom fab work etc etc. Extra costs can quickly add up to $5k in themselves. We don't mean to scare you off, its a great experience. I stupidly began my build thinking it would be "drive in, drive out"- its not haha

Hi Mate, I'm not too far off (430hp at 16psi on 98). I'm aiming for 500hp, I hope the below helps, I will be there soon (fuel system is currently being upgraded). You probably don't need to do everything I did but at-least you can get a picture on what is needed: Gt35r turbo FMIC GReddy wastegate (60mm...i think) 6boost manifold ecu/boost management (I'm using a PFC and profec b) I had nismo 555cc injectors on stock rail (now have 1000cc's, turbosmart fuel reg and sorting surge tank/pumps) 260deg 9.25mm lift Tomei type b cams (from memory) with headwork done + springs forged pistons forged rods upgraded coil packs all the additional engine equipment (harmonic balancers, belts etc etc) larger sump with head oil drain I have a 3'' zorst. I've been told this is okay, but I would increase to 3.5" Plazmaman plenum clutch Not to mention blockwork- honing etc radiator That's about all I can remember now, that doesn't take into account everything else that you will need. Suspension, brakes etc. You could always to e85, but for practicality I can't justify it at the moment. There was a lady on here a few years ago that really helped me out, but she was running a T04Z. Perhaps search rb25 T04Z, her build guide was excellent. Agree with GTSSCOTT- your looking at about $10-15k to build the engine if you just do the basics.

Ouch buddy, sounds identical to the problem that plagued my car 4 or so years ago. Randomly dies when idling, doesn't start up again even with a fresh battery etc, has plenty of fuel and spark plugs are fine, but still no joy. I replaced my S1 rb25 CAS for the CAS in the neo engine and I haven't had a problem since. You probably don't need to upgrade the CAS like I did though, standard replacement should be fine.

Who still daily's their Skyline?
r33cruiser replied to colourclassic's topic in General Automotive Discussion
r33 GTS-T. Not a daily drive. I have a couple of other run around cars to use. If you have a white collar job, driving a loud car to appointments isn't professional (unless its a Porsche or something). Particularly with the "hoon" stigma associated with Skylines. I enjoy driving it sparingly, but with whats done to it I could never enjoy driving it daily. Why stress about keeping an eye on your mirrors, looking out for police and QLD transport- no thanks. I already have too many grey hairs as is. -
I'm only at 332kw atm, but i'v had the exedy twin plate for the last 6/7 years and haven't had any issues. I'm sure i'll have to replace it soon though, just wear and tear. Apparently their twin can handle 500hp day in day out.

Why the separate exhaust system for the gate? Not digging- I haven't seen something so elaborate like that before. -

Which O2 Sensor For R33 Gtst?
r33cruiser replied to dtrants's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
Go down to your local auto shop and ask for an EL Falcon oxygen sensor. http://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/24414-urgent-need-oxygen-sensor-r33/page-4?hl=%2Bel+%2Boxygen+%2Bsensor#entry554859 I did this about 7 years ago, multiple tunes, turbos, new engine etc and still running like a champ. -
Legal Performance Exhaust Is There Such A Thing
r33cruiser replied to dog25t's topic in General Automotive Discussion
Here is a twist. I was pulled over about 4 months and got done for window tint... long story short the officer was a great guy and let me know that my exhaust was a bit loud and could be defectable but he didn't bother with that. He said that they don't test for sound anymore they inspect to see if the stock silencing "units" were removed ie; the stock mufflers. TL:DR? Officer claimed if you remove stock silencing devices your system is illegal. Anyone had a similar experience or is this a matter of getting 10 difference officers and getting 10 different answers. Fyi, this was in QLD on Mt Mee. -
^^ just wow. He is extremely committed to his fitness. Surely he would get decent gains without juicing....it would just take longer.

Thats a real shame! The Coast was bustling with car life 5+ years ago, what the heck has changed?

Keen to hear peoples thoughts on these as well

Much happen in here anymore? I'm moving back to the coast after living in Brisbane for a few years and it looks like this place has died
