  1. hehe I think not somehow...
  2. No sat nav, no speed limiter. Cobb AP is just a hand controller you flash your standard ECU with. Haltech is a complete replacement ECU.
  3. SpecV was launched on January 8th in Tokyo at Nissan HQ in Ginza. First deliveries already been made. Owner #1 was a guy i know who is also the president of the R35 GT-R Club Japan - Ado-san. Despite what Mizuno said at the SpecV launch (i.e. that Australia was planned for the SpecV) the SpecV will NOT be coming to Australia from Nissan at all. There is no plan to bring it here and it's unlikely to be a plan at any time. I think we're lucky to get the GT-R at all and the SpecV is not really something I would be lining up to buy due to the price.
  4. More results in...
  5. Yeah it's missing some of the new subway lines too... couldn't navigate me to the f*kutoshin line and that's a central tokyo line. Ah well I still use this about a billion times.
  6. The cut in production you were told can only be a cut in the Australian specification production. Why though I dont know? Weak order figures I suppose? According to assembly line #1 manager at Tochigi plant, overall GT-R production is increasing slightly from Feb09. Of course shifts at Tochigi overall are reduced significantly due to lower demand on the entire product line. Tochigi manufactures all of Nissan's built-to-order range of cars which includes 6 vehicles on the GT-R assembly line (line #1) alone.
  7. 16,000 km's and it's pretty much showroom condition still. Not too many V-SpecII's getting around either. It's a nice one for sure.
  8. It's 3.18 million yen. Yes it's an expensive 32.
  9. It's worth a shot! I don't think they'd be able to deal with a 9 second GT-R though They're more into selling the light-medium tuned GT-Rs that appeal to older guys with money. I can arrange for a swap of your cash for his car though. Cash they are fond of.
  10. Yep this car is a "new" car. I'm quite good friends with the president of Zele and I went to Yokohama to check this car out the other day. It's only got delivery KM's on it, it's the real deal. Never seen a 34 as perfect looking. It sits in an air conditioned office 24x7 tucked behind a McLaren SLR. It has 6.5 million yen on it if you're interested. Not really that negotiable though as the right buyer will pay that when he sees it.
  11. There have been two suspension changes since 2007. 7'29 was achieved after the first suspension change. The latest suspension change is a lot more significant.
  12. The Nismo Clubsport was never REALLY developed to sell. It was the only way to develop the SpecV with the available funds Nissan had. There's no unlimited money bucket unfortunately so Nismo developed the Clubsport using their budget and the parts were then used on the SpecV. A great bit of accounting that leaves the undesirable Clubsport package as a bit of a nothing car. 1 was sold.... ever.... I don't think any more will sell now the SpecV is here....
  13. The improvements are from updated shock valving, updated spring rates, updated front lower arm bushes and new Dunlop tires. Mizuno's mission statement is to evolve the GT-R year on year with subtle improvements such as these and the 09 model is a testament to his work. Nissan head back to Nurburgring this year once the weather clears up. They will not be doing so under the veil of secrecy they have in the past however and will be inviting media along to open the whole thing up to scrutiny to try and silence the naysayers. I had dinner with the VP of communications of Nissan JP a couple of weeks back (yes the guy who told Porsche that they needed driving lessons) and he's personally really excited to see how the 09 model does. Nissan have two test drivers who've done 7'29" in the 08 model now so hopefully in 09 the base GT-R goes faster again.
  14. I guess it is a contradiction. Mizuno wants to do it but I guess utlimately Nissan Australia cannot be forced to sell it here. I think maybe he just wanted to highlight how much he really doesn't want to sell it in the US.
  15. Yes. There's a lot of background information i wont go into but the US market is "not ready for a SpecV". It's a personal choice basically.
  16. Mizuno-san said to us directly that the only market he will not sell the SpecV in is the US. Whether it will actually come to Australia is another matter but Mizuno does want to sell it here and usually what he says goes.
  17. Went to the press launch on the 8th and got to fondle all the SpecV components by themselves. The rotors weigh nothing compared to the stock ones. All that unsprung, rotational mass savings adds up to a lot more than just what the spec sheet says. Went to the Tochigi plant to see the SpecV production line begin yesterday, was a very special experience to go to the home of the GT-R and see the first two built ones. They also have one of the Nurburgring cars (#33) in the hall. The one that ran the 7.38 time (not the 7.29 time). Also got taken for a spin on their test circuit, amazing place the Tochigi plant and about the size of a city itself. The SpecV sounds like the Nismo Clubsport one. Here's a vid i made if you want to know what it sounds like (right down the end): http://www.gtrblog.com/index.php/2008/12/0...one-enkai-night

  20. That is true in Japan models. For models sold outside Japan there is no 180kmh speed limiter. That was most certainly an Australian spec GT-R as you can tell it's the only market where popup HID washers are seen so far. Not checked if the Euro one has them too but I suspect it might.
  21. I recommend talking to Blitz on these forums. He knows all about smashing beaver panels in.
  22. The option you're referring to is the camber setup. Race or street with race being the default. The suspension softening Martin refers to is a valving change in the shock absorbers which all global models see this coming MY. Even the Japanese model will have these changes which are primarily being made for the European market. It will make the car better for all those fat ass journos we've got down here but possibly slightly softer where you don't want it to be. Can't really be sure until some get into the hands of owners but by all accounts R mode on the suspension will still be firm enough.
  23. I have a slight feeling developing that you joined these forums simply to troll the R35 sub-forum.
  24. JohnTurbo has just run a 10.852 @ 128.86 mph. Launch control was used. http://www.gtrblog.com/index.php/2008/12/0...mile-record-set
  25. Congrats on your order but please use one of the other 3 or 4 threads we have going on the same subject to discuss it.
