  1. Yep - it a PIG project - totally back yard and open air FTW ! Good day for it today - zero wind and sun !

Hi All, So you know I bought the S12 First thing I did was put new wheels on it - Buddy Club P1s Then I put Lowered Springs in the back Also changed the rear Shocks to Monroe Gas - (HQ Shocks) Then I put KYP Excel-G shocks in the front Changed the centre bearing on the tail shaft. Fixed up the little bit of rust in the rear sil Painted it up - But I got the wrong Colour blue - So I thought - Fark it ! I'll paint the whole car. So yesterday, I prepped and primed the front Today I sprayed it silver - Yep - new colour for the S12. Here are some pics. It's just had 2 coats so far - will Buff i back with some 1000 or 2000 W&D then another coat and so forth until I am happy with it - Then I might give it a coat or two of clear. First time I have sprayed a car ! ha ha ha

  4. Getting my MV Built auto put in on Wednesday. Box came without fluid. I'm gonna be hammering this box - what's the best tranny fluid to use ? Yes it's a Comso - but uses a Jatco - Same as you Skyline blokes and girls.

  7. Fark you Dan ! Now I am seriously thinking about a RB25DET transplant - Power to weight would be unreal ! S12 is only 1100kgs. Did my first mod on the weekend ! ha ha ha ha - I have no control whatsoever when it comes to modding cars. A nice set of Buddy Club p1 16" wheels (same type as on my old skyline) - got them for cheap ! This will be a great track car - Once I work out how to put all the Skyline stuff in it (Engine, Brakes, Diff - well maybe not diff - this is proving to be a hassle)

  10. I'd farken love to put a FJDET in it - but there are as scarce as chickens lips - and when you find one - expensive. CA18DET you can get an engine, loom and ECU for under $1K Other options are of course SR20DET - would need gearbox as well - RB25DET would be good Maj - but tricky install with new mounts and so forth. It's GREAT FUN to be in a manual again - I forgot how much fun they are I love revving the crap out of the CA20E. Adam - the plans of grandeur for the Laser never worked out - it was just going to be too hard and not worth the $$ - so sold it for $2K with some new bits (bought it for 1K) Issues so far: LSD - you can't get one unless I convert the live rear end to IRS - which involves cutting off the whole rear cradle and welding a new one in. Thought hard and long about locking the diff - but since it will be a daily - not really worth it, I don't think. In terms of engine upgrade - I'm finding it hard to justify spending $$ on it since it was cheap - but I guess I will at some stage. Brakes - to get 4 pots on the front - I need to swap to S13 front suspension - Axle stubs, Knuckles, LCA, Tension Rods etc. Would also need an SR master cylinder Rear drum to disc conversion - simple matter of swapping for a B'Bird TRx S3 disc hubs etc - IF I COULD FIND THESE. The body is fairly straight and rust free - so that is a bonus - it's a bit tatty - but in overall good condition for it's age. My problem is that I am too damn impatient and want it to be a hella circuit drifta over the weekend - but in reality it's gonna take a while to source all the parts and do all the work.
  11. SR20DET requires too much fabrication same with RB2XDET - also needs new GB for SR or RB the CA18DET bolts straight in to std engine mounts and Gearbox. And they are cheap. If this one on e-bay goes for $600 ish then an 2nd hand ECU for I dunno $500 ish Lock the diff and viola turbo dorifto for $2.5K Pick it up tomorrow

Yeah - but this is different - it's a Nissan And this one has rego and is not a ex rally car like the laser was (impossible to get registered) One drifter coming up Ha ha YES, I am a glutton for punishment - but I love it. Even though the laser project failed, I had fun with it ! Hmmm - there's a CA18DET on e-bay for $400 - 69,000 kms....... NO NO NO Don't do it !
  13. Whoops - I just bought another car...... I am a Nissan owner again ! YAY. Don't get too excited - It's another project..... ha ha ha ha Pretty much stock CA20 with headers and zorst. Manual 5 speed Got it off e-bay for $1500 ha ha - never even inspected it - what a crack ! This should be good. Plans -------- CA18DET conversion is the first thing. Lock the Diff See where we go from there.

  15. OK - so this may be a silly question but why would you need a rev limiter when you can do that on the PFC ? Obviously I am missing something.
  16. Seems like a few good cars are interstate - I don't want the hassle but ! Anyway, I'll keep looking. Bike is as good as sold, so I might just bide my time and wait for all the P platers to sell their turbo cars for cheap, also people may want to get rid of quick ddue to the propose anti-hoon laws... Gotta love being nearly 40 There's one advantage of being OLD !
