  1. It will when the new tranny is in - right now it just 'slips' into second
  2. How about this for the best of both worlds :
  3. PS - I think the GTiR is getting my vote right now - It's a lot of car for the $$ these days.
  4. Ha ha - Adrian , Adrian.... I will , I am , I will ! I have realised now, that I really, really need to upgrade my transmission (It's only after driving this thing around on the power I have now that I see the light). SO - In 2 and a bit weeks, I will have myself a fully built stage II MV Autos tranny with 3800 RPM stall. Same box has proven it's worth in SA where it ran 10.8 on a similarly spec'd Cosmo 20B. So - YES - all in good time, my friend - It WILL happen. And when it does, I want to make it a good one (Now I am going t be disappointed if I run a shit time) ha ha ha ha ha
  5. It's a MUST to run a dedicated relayed circuit from the Battery for these pumps. They don't voltage step well. 340rwkw - my 1600cc/min secondaries are running at 20% or something - no fuel problems for me You also gotta ensure you get Genuine Walbros - there's China copies out there that are shite.
  6. Wow ! ! Nah - Not into pubs & clubs anymore - I'm an old fart (like you now Bob - HB BTW) Need to stick to the budget (or less). What about a Swift GTI turbo ? Nah - it's not RWD
  7. THe Legnum / Galant seems like seriously good value. $12-13K - 206KW 2.5L V6 twin turbo. 0-100kph in 6 seconds Stageas (to me) look to much like a Volvo
  8. I thought you were going to say FC RX7 Ryan Your right - leave the RB20DET in - unless it came with an RB25DET. A reasonable condition R32 = 10K plus engine & gearbox, plus labour = over $15K <-- over budget
  9. Hmmmmm - nice ! MX5 is not really that practical hey - but I could live with that....... Actually - scrap practical from the criteria
  10. Is that a legal engine swap ?
  11. I love the Cosmo - power & cruisability is awesome. However - I miss a manual car. So the bike is for sale (hardly used it , ha ha) So now I am researching my options for a second car. Something I can use daily (Yes 20Bs are VERY thirsty). What do you reckon I should get ? Here's the criteria: Budget - around $12.5K Manual Rear wheel drive or All wheel Drive Practical Quick Something I can get back into track days in occasionally. Options: * GTiR * R33 (would be a 4 door or a bit clapped out for the budget) * R32 * Mitsu Legnum / Gallant VR-4 * BMW 323/325 - an older one * MX5 (89/90) What do ya reckon ? Have I missed something I should be looking at ?
  12. So far so good with the Walbros - 45 PSI idle fuel pressure - goes up to 60 when boosting. Not a problem at all. People seem to love them or hate them the Walbros - the Yankees love them - They flow well, draw less current, have a small form factor - thus in tank fittment of two is not a problem. And they are in-expensive compared to some others. So - just an update on where I am at with the Cosmo now. After sorting thru some small issues - Fitting a 4.5" exhaust, new mufflers, re-tune etc - am now at 340rwkw (that's with the auto so engine HP would be close to 400 or so. And that is running 10PSI Boost starts at 2300RPM, 5PSI by 3000 and Full boost 4000RPM all the way to 8200RPM (nice power band from 4K to 8.2K) Power climbs and climps and is still climbing at redline. Boost will be going up soon - to 15 PSI. (Need new 3 bar MAP sensor and complete retune - bugga) So hopefully over 400rwkw I have a MV Stage II built box coming with a 3800 RPM stally. 10s here I come
  13. Yep - they come in 13BTT and 20BTT configurations. A bloke I know has a 13B bridgeport with a T51R on it - Runs 10s (that's true by the way)
  14. It means that the pistons are sucking in air faster than turborcharger can blow in air (yet).
  15. That was a good trick Mal Congrats - all the best !
  16. Can't do fellas, I'm away next week. But you can all talk about how an HKS T51R SPL would go on the Cosmo B

  18. You'd have to ask Andrew about the PFC - I do know that they use the Dyno at A&B Motorsport which is just up the road.

Yeah - I don't think I will be able to make it now. Am not 100% happy with the car, so will get some little things fixed up first. Had a tune after increasing the fuel pressure and getting new 4.5" exhaust on - and making more power now, but there is a little lean spot in the rev range according to the Wideband 02 - I can drive around it on the street - and it's only when off boost and low in the rev range - but want to get it fixed before I go hammering it Also have a slow leak in the left hand front tyre - so need to get that fixed - Don't want to get out there and have a flat - space saver wheel doesn't clear the big brakes on the front - damn it - you learn the hard way hey....
  20. Hope someone told the Captain to stay away from Nobby's Beach.
  21. I just installed a PLX Wideband - about $400 from the US. Works well Can emulate a narrow band for your ECU or of your ECU can do closed loop with a Wideband, there is a 0-5V output too.

Yeah - might need some 2RISMO RACIG Pit crew help
  23. Might take the Cosmo out to WSID for it's maiden run next week. Anyone else going ?
  24. Satanic put me on to them Just got my car back today - My God - I wanted a bigger front pipe and Jamie put a big fark off 4.5" front pipe/section on - It's huge. 3.2mm thick wall - Exhaust noise has gone down thanks to SMB rear mufflers and centre resonator (SMB shit is really really good) Very happy with the result. I can tell power is up by the the amount of wheelspin and sideways action I get when I take of straight. Just awseome. Now to put it on the dyno and turn the boost up to 15PSI Then...... I GO RACING
