  6. Yeah - it's sad news indeed. Hope he pulls through ! 50 mins till the start !
  7. Brookvale Mufflers - ask for Andrew or Jamie.
  8. Hi Folks, Since I have a busted leg - I've set myself up on the lounge with my notebook and TV. I'[ll be watching the race from start to end today - posting comments and discussion as the race goes one. So sit back - get your wireless keyboards out - turn the TV on to Channel 10 and get prepared to see plenty of Supercheap Auto ads. Viewing starts in 10 mins......
  9. I've got them on my Cosmo - awsome brakes. Build quality is good. I wouldn't say that smaller pistons is neccessarily a bad thing - There are 8 of them - and don't forget the stihiletto effect. To get a little technical - Before the upgrade - I had 10% stopping difference between the left & right front brakes. And front rear bias was 60% front 40% rear. After the uprade - there is less then 1% difference between left & right - and bias has incresed to 85% front 15% rear. Seat of your pants measurements - Before upgrade, brakes were spongey and pedal had to be pushed down 1/3 before anything started happening. After upgrade, I can just apply a small amount of pressure and the pedal moves no more than 5-10mm before you come to a stop. First time I drove it after the upgrade, and braked - I narly went through the window. For the $$ - I reckon they are an awesome upgrade. BTW - Mine are K-Sport - but they are exactly the same as G4 ! Cheers, Actually - the calipers are pretty big - here's a shot - those wheels are 18's as a comparison - (the brakes won't fit unless you have 17's as a minimum)
  10. Less arguing, more banning folks !
  11. Not good ......
  12. I farking can't help myself...... Told myself I was going to keep the Cosmo pretty much stock - and modify the shit out of the TX3 - Now I am doing both - and spending heaps more $$ on the Cosmo..... Oh well, guess it is in my blood. I have NFI how the Cosmo will go with the T04Z - the only comparison I have are some 20Bs with either the T04S or GT3542 - And in my opinion the HKS T4O4Z is better for spool and top end than both of these. Should be good though - 20B will bring on the boost pretty quick and the turbo is rated to 700 or 800PS depeding on where you get your specs from. Now for a wastegate - oh, whoops - I just found one........... At least the Cosmo will stop well - it will never be a track car - but I might take it out on the track after the............. wait for it............... Manual Conversion........ - OMFG - Did I just say that.....
  13. Got myself a birthday present today !
  14. Pics of Trust wastegated for sale ??

  19. G'day, Did a search - got plenty of hit on painting callipers....... I've removed the engine, suspension, looms, steering racks etc - from the Engine bay of the Project TX3 - And I want to re-paint the bay. Originally I thought of just using cans - but don't know that this is the best idea. So, I need some advice on painting. How to prep ?? . What I was planning was - hiring a pressure/hot water cleaner from Kennards to get all the grease and sh1t off the bay - Then I was thinking of getting some paint remover to get all the old paint off - Then going over the bay again with the cleaner. Then Wipe the whole bay down with acetone or something - Actually I think you can get proper paint prep stuff. Then primer - 2 coats. Then Final colour - (green or orange - yeah it is going to be LOUD) - What - about 3 or 4 coats ??? Then I don't know - do I use clear over the top ? What is the best paint to use ? Is this do-able with spray cans ? Got any tips ?? Cheers,
  20. Fark me - no wonder there is a course !
  21. Thanks guys. Been looking on E-Bay for a welder. I think they can be had for little... When you add up how much it would cost me to get the car to a place to fix, then the actual fixing - I could get me a welder and do it myself - Then have a welder for later - or for mates etc. TAFE sounds like a good idea ! I could also hire one from Kennards or Coates - that might get me started !
  22. G'Day, I need to weld up some bits and pieces on my project car - eg: Sway bar mounts, small chassis crack. Since this is a complete DIY project - I want to learn how to weld - and I have NFI on the different types of welding. Alls I know is that you welders are pretty inexpensive these days - and if I get one, and learn how to use it properly, I know I can use it in the future for all kinds of stuff. So what I do know is there there are ARC, TIG, MIG, CIG welders - and that some require gas and some not. So my questions are: 1) Which would be the best welder for my application. What would be the best way to learn without bodging up what I need to do. 2) What is the differences between ARC, TIG, MIG etc - When do you require gas and why ? (not that I think I need this) 3) Am I being overly ambitious with what I want to do - Should I just pay someone to do the job for me ? (Car not movable from my place though, so would need to be portable) Thanks in advance.
  23. It is - I was just humouring BB
