  1. hey guys, i just had a brand new set of toyo T1R 255 on rear and 235 fronts put on. everyone seem to be saying they are grippy for street tyres. i am slipping every time when i put the pedal down. even on 4th gear. the light on the dash keeps popping up... do i need to drive it for another few hundred kms b4 it will start to get grippy? or do i need bigger tyres? 265 maybe? my car does not have huge power. i do understand if the wheel spins on first n second but this goes straight to 4th gear. shed some light please. cheers!
  2. Yes i still have the recipet here with me. good thing i keep reciepts. if u brought ur rims to be powdercoated, u expect them to be powdercoated. but if it was suppose to be powder coated n it comes out to be sprayed, what would u do?? at least do a good job. tats all i am asking. Thanks to all for the advice ppl!!
  3. *** i did not say this part to him... it was on top of my mind - tat i have a job to go to. which part of my post tat u think i deserve to be slammed down??? if tis happen to u, will u just say -lets forget about it?? i know AUSD200 is not alot but i don mind if he didnt powdercoat the rims, at least give it a good even spray. do a proper job. He did remember me. he told me tat was like 4 weeks ago, y didnt u bring it in earlier. theres where the (i do have a job moment) came up!
  4. i am looking at his business card rite now. it says MANAGER.... he gave it to me and his name is written on the card, tat was how he introduce himself to me when i first saw him. (a nice and friendly guy - i admit) but today when i told him my problem about the rims he was different. even the reciept says "POWDERCOAT 4x rims Matt black. $50 each total at the bottom = $200. so wat should i do rite now.....
  5. what do u reckon??? my rims are at risk here. so do u think i would tell him off straight away n not get the problem solved? if i didnt wan this problem solve i wouldnt ask this forum to help me out. i told him who i was n about the story.... he said BS he doesnt spray paint rims..... n he added even if he did, i should have brought it back asap when i saw the imperfection.... (i do have a job n i bought this wheel 6 months ago n i havent even touch it since till i brought it to him. which was 4 weeks ago.)*** slams phone wit out saying anything.....
  6. GUESS WHAT!!!! just gave them a call n talk to the manager. got flamed back.... n he put the phone down not even wanting to explain..... so guys wat should i do?!!?!?!? anyone who know about powder coating don mind helping me out n going wit me to see him?? f*ck the manager that i talk to. so f*cking rude!!!!!
  7. i am going to call them now.... there are many pics of the imperfection.... but some are just too diff to see from the pics.... ****EDITED**** Do not post clues to show which business it is. Grow up. i dont mean to give clues... just saying tat i did a research n they poped up as a sponsor, so anyone would think they are doing a good job tats y ppl are asking them to powder coat their stuff tats all..... put urself in my shoes, wat if it was u getting ripped off. maybe tat doesnt happen to u but tat wasnt my intention to give their company name out. if i wanted, i would just WRITE IT HERE till i get banned..... SORRY!
  8. here are some pics.... u guys be the judge.... heartache getting ripped off.... ban dodgy traders!!!!! list the names up so others wont fall for the same trap!!!!!!
  9. Hopefully it was powder coated, i know some powdercoaters sprays using an electrostatic gun(not sure wat tis is). but i will be posting some pics for u guys to see.... No point calling them back. complaining to them would just be a waste of time. just consider my self bad luck!! I am just trying to help other car owners from falling into the same trap thats all. if i would be bringing the rims back to them or another shop, they might just charge me more. strip them current paint to the orignal colour , sand blast the rims and then powder coat it back again. so i reckon it will cost me another 200 to 300 more....
  10. *UPDATED* I have already so called powder coated my rims. for $50 a rim. Brought it to the shop tat was reccomended. and talk to the owner about it n he said yes he can do it in a few hours as he is powdercoating some stuff which is using the same colour (matt black). assuming that he is a good trader, i happily i left my brand new set of rim with him. was told to call back after 3 hours, i did! He says come n pick it up its all done! WOW tat was quick! check the rims, everything look fine, paint was even, no stratches. Paid him n left. Planning the next thing to do - get some rubber n put it into the car! Went to the tyre shop, showed the guys there my rims. AND was told tat my rims were sprayed with matt black not powdercoated..... how did they know???? one of the rim was not painted inside as they can see the originaly colour. i was shocked! they tyre shop guys said i was ripped off!!!!!!!!! WTF!!!! OMFG!!!!! SHITS in Pants abit.... Dont think i can put the company name here but if u want to know just pm me b4 u fall into the same trap!!!!!! SHitty trader sucks!!!!!!!!!!!
  11. yeah i think i will set it to low boost for now.... tats y i am confused.... the mechanic who installed the avcr and the tuner says its ok to have it at 1bar everyday.....
  12. hey guys newbie here.... tried searching.... when i need info it doesnt comes up, when i don need it, its everywhere. i just had my car fitted with avcr+safc2. was tuned and producing 280rwhp at the moment. avcr was set at 0.7bar and 1bar. the tuner says that there is only 8hp difference between the low n high boost.... he also added tat the high boost comes in quicker than the low boost. he says its safe to have it at 1bar. current mods are: pod filter straight thru exhaust splitfire coilpacks FMIC.... the rest are stock. i have read some threads stating that 1 bar(14.5psi) is the max boost the stock turbo can handle. izit safe driving on 1bar everyday?? another question: can i change the boost levels between low n high after the tune? does it affect the tuning?

  19. rice(rīs) n. A cereal grass (Oryza sativa) that is cultivated extensively in warm climates for its edible grain. The starchy grain of this plant, used as a staple food throughout the world. or this?? 1.ricer (Ricer: from the latin word Ricarius meaning to suck at everything you attempt) A person who makes unecessary modifications to their most often import car (hence the term "rice") to make it (mostly make it look) faster. The most common modifications are (but not limited to): - Huge exhaust that serves no purpose but to make the car louder - Large spoiler on the back that looks like something Boeing made for the 747 - Lots of after-market company stickers they don't have parts from, but must be cool - Expensive rims that usually cost more than the car itself - Bodykit to make the car appear lower, usually accented with chicken wire - Clear tail lights and corner signals - A "performace intake"- a tube that feeds cold air to their engine usually located in areas of excessive heat (behind or on top of the engine) - Most of these riced cars (a.k.a. rice rockets or rice burners) are imports; Honda Civics, Accords, Integras, CRXs, RSXs, Del Sols Mitsubishi Eclipses, Lancers, Subaru Imprezas, however there are some domestics such as Chevrolet Caviliers, Dodge Neons, Ford Focus; small, slow, economy cars designed specifically to go slow. Please note that some Supras, Skylines, WRX's and other higher performance imports are designed to go fast, and are therfore not always considered rice. It really depends on the severity of the case. The "ricer" attempts to make their car "performance" by adding the modifications listed above. These ricers are not confined to any one ethnic group or color, however different ethnic groups are known for certain styles. Honda Civics with big spoilers and 4" exhaust tips are considered to be ricers.

  21. plz don regap ur spark plugs(cheap way to do it)... its an ancient tool tat ppl use 10 or more years ago... who ever ask u to regap doesnt really know wat they are talking about. i got lectured by a mechanic saying tat everyone is asking him to regap the spark plugs... he say he rather not do my business when u got a proper item design to eliminate the problem..... getting a plug is not expensive.... $35 each for ngk iriway7 or 8
  22. miss firing is most probally the answer. check sparkies first if tats not the problem then coilpacks... happen to me tooo... get ngk iriway7 or iriway8(or equivalant). this sparkies are made for japanese cars like this. do go trying out stupid sparkies like iridium. cause me a headache....
