you cant go wrong with a good rollcage, i have one in my 180 and the difference in chassis stiffness is easily noticable. I would get someone to look at it and modify it, it must be do-able if someone else has one available. Or you could sell this one for more han you bought it for and buy the expensive one

I know, i love the RB's, but ive lost my hatred towards SR's now Im pretty impressed with how it goes, and there are some things like the head, intercooler, and maybee look at upgrading from a 3 - 3.5" exhaust.. If it stays like it is now i'll still be happy as its plenty quick. The good thing about this is that you wouldnt expect it to go quick because they are all SR's and sound the same when going slow, when you hear an RB in a S13 you know it will go pretty good.

Too much debt, not money! I have 2 but my red RB20 is for sale 270rwkw is too much more fun than 190/200ish to justify keeping my old one

Hope im not disliked too much for asking this on here , but around what level does the standard SR20 head become restrictive? The 180 i just bought has 355rwhp on pump fuel @ 25psi which i thought was quite high boost for that sort of power... it has: hks t300 turbo, hks exhaust manifold, hks wastegate, toda step 1 cams, subzero 80mm sub zero throttle body, sub zero plenum, wesico forged pistons, gapless rings, arp rod bolts, 600x300x70mm PWR core intercooler, 3" exhaust with gutted cat. Its obviously not too bad because 355rwhp is pretty good, but the 2 things that stood out to me were the 3" exhaust, and the un-modified head and was really wondering if there would be much point getting the head ported, and port matched to the manifolds

What is the max power with "minor" internal mods from an RB25 like forged pistons, cams, and cam gears? And with what turbo? TD06? 3540?

it made that power on tolulene/avgas. On pump fuel it makes 270rwkw. I got it for an unreal price. Needs 4 tyres and rego.. i'll tell you everything about it when i pick it up

While looking for a donor car with an un-decided engine, ie a car with nice suspension, body etc but with stockish engine, i stumbled accross a car, which is now my car I'll soon loose my rights to be on this forum, but hey . A 180 with an SR... not very different like i wanted, but has 310rwkw and ran a 11.60@120mph on street tyres.. Hopefully if the bank works their stuff out i'll pick it up this afternoon or tomorrow

I just bought a 180 that has an external dump that can be unbolted, so i'll tell you how loud it is in a few days, quite interested to hear how loud it is actually... Good suprise for anyone next to you -

I know that i wont get 310rwkw, but im not fussed if its less. it makes 310rwkw on avgas/tolulene, 260rwkw on pump fuel, but even still, i want something different and a sr 180 is common . In terms of the RB26 install i can get an engine/gearbox for $4500 RB25 gearbox for $1400 Got radiator Sell the 4wd gearbox for how much? Why oil cooler and remote filter? $1000 for fit Not sure if i would need a twin plate clutch especially being 2wd? It comes with std ecu Or could i build a tough RB25 for the same money? What i want is the RB?? in the 180, because its different, light and i like 6cyl turbo the most out of any engines. Dont know what i could sell that comeplete SR, but i would have thought $8000-10000 with everything, ecu turbos etc, so that would be my budget plus a bit more. In terms of power, i want something reliable, 260rwkw or so, and able to be abused sometimes without worrying about exploding. -

Thanks sydneykid, helps alot. As normal, ive thought of something better. If i bought a 26, how much could i sell the 4wd gearbox for? If i buy the right car i can get one. The way i want to do this is actually pretty complex, but another 180 im looking at has a kevin kent SR that has 310rwkw. I could sell that engine and buy a 26 with change left over... I was going to fix the few dents on my car and sell it, as i can get as much for this as i could buy the above 180, plus it has already got tein suspension and full roll cage etc which mine doesnt. All this works out fine with the RB26, as long as i can sell the 4wd gearbox for a reasonable price.. ala 1500ish. So i would have maybee 6-8000 for an engine conversion if anyone has any other suggestions, it just has to be a 6cyl. 2JZ? -

The reason i wanted to change engines is because my 20 gearbox blew up, and it will only do it again. I could buy the TD06 and a 25 gearbox but that would cost around $5000, plus ecu mods. I figured if i bought a 25, it comes with the gearbox and a bit more top end, and a fair bit more midrange.. I could afford a 26, but how much could i sell the 4wd gearbox for? -
Ok, im going to change engines on my car, from what ive read i have a few options, can anyone answer these questions: RB24 - I have a RB20 at the moment. How much would it be to build it into a 24. I have an R34 GTST turbo, what sort of power outputs would be expected, and what sort of ecu mods would be needed? This would be my first pref it could be done for under $4000, but maybee im going to be laughed at for that. Also a aftermarket turbo could be budgeted. How are they for torque? Ive heard they would be happy to rev to 9000rpm?? I guess the only bad thing about this is that i have to buy a 25 gearbox and that will cost alot... RB25 - How many RWKW would i expect with FMIC, POD, turbo back exhaust? I want more than my 20 has RB30DET - The main problem here is clearance issues.. How much higher is it than an RB25?

Has anyone seen/knows of anyone who has an R33 gearbox? I need one asap, even if one has been seen at an importer or anything like that.

After thinking it would be a good idea to boot it coming onto the highway yesterday and my gearbox destroyed itself in a big way, im deciding on which box to choose from. Obviously the 25 box is much stronger and larger, but will it still fit in the standard tunnell of an S13? Anyone who has a whining RB20 gearbox, pay attention to what its trying to say! I think the new clutch didnt make it too happy either.... The box is that bad that you cant even let the clutch out in neutral. Also what would be ballpark figure for the 2 boxes?

Does anyone know of a place that insures to the full value of the car, or even something thats 1/2 acceptable, for fire and theft? Having no insurance if i crash and are at fault is ok, but if someone steals my car and im stuck with the loan payments, that really stings! Thanks Luke

I just applied for a loan for a BA turbo ute... 511hp at wheels with standard turbo and internals is just too inviting, even if it does weight 1700kg. if that falls back i might buy a mazda 323 and drive that as my daily driver or find somewhere that will insure fire and theft to the real value of my car, and save up for a TD06 and ecu . -

I cant find a company that will do fire and theft for more than $8000 value on the car, any ideas? I dont mind fulll coverage theft but not if it only covers 1/2 or even a 1/4 of the value of the car. Something i forgot to ask about when i was calling around. -

Yes the clutch has ben ran in for over 400km. It doesnt just slip, the pedal wont come off the floor and slips Im going to call them soon and find out why their 500+hp clutch would do that on a car with little over 1/2 that.
