  1. I have a Import Magazine at work i thing it is number 30 and it explanes what is opened up buy the new laptop software for the GTR. I'll try and post the info tommorrow! If your car has only the usual air pod and exaust there are a few guys that are readding this thread (including me) that would be very interested in someone haveing there car tuned and taking some pictures of the Matrix Tables and screen 29 and 30 setups then posting them on this thread!!!
  2. JimX you make a valid point. There is no main thing that makes it better in fact i think it is not near as good as a Power FC except 1 for me as a self tuner the software is easier to use, as a person that likes to fiddle i can see all the displays at once. 2 Laptop conection no little hand controller your only inter face 3 Warrenty that is local 4 And the main thing they are suposed to be only $1395 if you get them off the right people. 5 A technical number to ring up if you have any dramas, which they are very helpful but are yet to actually solve any of my problems.

  4. That is the delemer second hand is always a worry but you don't have a choice do you. I got mine from a local importer that sells a bit over priced but his stuff is pretty good. Just the sheer condition of them when handed to you is all you have to go off. Have a good look for cracks and deteriated rubber! I payed $85 each someone on www.nissansilvia.com in the forums under used parts was selling 6 yesterday for $250 the lot or $50 each!

  6. Ok i though Rpm was doing it this way. You have to make a braket off the firewall. And the main haness has a plastic locator at the bottom of the std computer, disconnect that and the harness will stretch right up!

  8. Its good to know that you idle is a bit sus too it has been a headake for me for a while now! How did you go with the miss at 5000rpm
  9. Did you fit the air temp sender? I mounted the lt-12 under the glove box so the map sense and air temp wire are always pluged in just a simple change of the main plug. Which is much easier to swap and not be tempted to drive with the lt-12! Hint Hint
  10. You will find that it will be tuned in Matrix mode which is much better but at this stage there won't be any data in the tables. This will all start to make sense once you have a laptop, and read the book over and over . There is no point getting it tuned and not knowing what they have done for you.
  11. Ok its safe to drive in the sense that you wont wreck your engine in a hurry. But excessive richness can wash oil off the bore, foul plugs etc. You will be safe to plug it in any time and play around just don't run it to and fro work and on shoping trips or drag racing.
  12. Were you told to remove the AFM plug or did you do that on your own acord?
  13. I think you will find that you engine is now running in normal mode and has only one rich fuel map. Then a wot (wide open throtle ) corection map.
  14. Yeah cold idle on my STD computer was also anywere up to 1900rpm due to the idle solenoid! How does the engine return to idle now you may have found the std computer returned slowly buy mylt-12 returns to fast and the rpm drops to 500 or so nealy stalling then builds back up to 800.
  15. i got my LT-12 direct from Microtech just wondering if RPM had made a different model for there own sale! Where did you end up mounting it

  17. What does your nissan plug look like does it have a circuit board and black panel screwed to it?
  18. As far as i know the USB adapter also need a software program to make them take to each other!

  20. So you like Trotts33. No its not advisable to leave it plugged in, you have seen what it can do, just play with it everynow and then but leave the std computer pluged in for normal driving!
  21. The standard computer doesn't use one so there isn't a Nissan one as such but when they installed the Microtech it is also optional! Have a look in the plenum or more likly in the piping that runs from the intercooler to the throtle body. It look like a threaded gold sensor with a grey plug and two wires coming from it one black ( running back to the computer ) and one Brown to earth or vise versa it doesn't matter! Its about the size of a large thumb and has Delco written on it.

  23. Good thinking so are you going to tune it your self or get some shop to do it for you? If you'd like i can probably send a picture of a craked coil (or 3). Even a picture of my matrix tables.

  25. Good idea the first place to look is were the top of the rubber boot meets the coil pack, there are usually visable cracks!
