  1. at the moment i have my stock filter in the original airbox but is worn, just wanted to know which would be better for my r-33,a brand new k&n panel filter or take the airbox out and put a new hks mushroom filter on. thanks.
  2. thats only if your car stalls,but it would be good to get a after market ecu and a tune if you would like to go more boost and get a few mods done. it must have been the aac valve on my car cause ive been driving it for 3 days now and not a problem.

  7. me and a mate just installed the bov and took it for a quick test drive and had no issues yet. when i put it on before pretty much straight away at was rev hunting and stalling but not this time??? i will take it for a better run later and see how it goes.
  8. i know that this has been covered alot but ive been told this and that about i have to get a aftermarket ecu and tune it to fit a atmospheric bov cause the factory one is only tuned for the re-circ bov. i just rang coffs harbour dyno and tuning services and the main man there told me i dont have to get a tune to fit a bov and i told him about the stalling and he told me its either a leak or a blockage. a little while ago i was having idle problems and stalling even with the factory bov back on and my mate found the forum on here about the aac valve and mine was putrid and after it was cleaned out its been running perfect and my power is back. could that aac valve been causing the problem? well that leaves the question...does it have to be tuned or not? cheers.
  9. yeah ive been thinking of getting the car tuned after christmas,can they tune the factory ecu for the bov? i live in grafton where there are a few turbo cars getting around...skylines,subaru etc and they all have atmospheric bov and im probably the only guy without one. thanks for the info.

  11. a while ago my mate put my bov on my R-33 which is a turbosmart vee port. where you can adjust it to harder or softer he twisted it all the way to the soft setting and past the red mark where it says not to,and i told him that he went to far he reckons it wouldnt do anything??? i have since taken it off cause it was causing stalling but is it ok or would it be damaged? i heard that if you go past the red point it damages the thread. cheers.
  12. clean out your aac valve,my r-33 kept stalling when ever i slowed down or pulled up. me and a mate took the valve off and it was putrid and after we cleaned it out no more stalling and i got my power back.

  14. i just got my exedy heavy duty clutch installed and the mechanic said he had to machine down the flywheel. whats it do?
  15. i cant thank you enough,its amazing it caused that much trouble with the car. your car will be fine once the rust is cut out.
  16. problem fixed,my mate had a look at the aac valve and it was putrid,he cleaned it and no more stalling.
  17. i have got my car booked in with my mechanic for next week so i hope he can find out whats wrong with it. when my car is warmed up its starts to stall when i slow down or have to stop and its only revving at 400 to 500RPM and it will either stall or the revs start jumping back and forth. my friend says to get a compression test done cause he thinks my engine is dying but could it be something else??? ive tried to look for a vacuum leak but its to noisy under the hood and it all looks fine. it only started doing this after we put a bov on it and it kept stalling so we put the factory one back on and since then it keeps getting worse and its that bad now i dont drive it anymore. i hope you can give me some advice cause im really starting to freak out.

  19. i think there is something wrong with my car,for starters i need a new clutch which im booked in for but everytime i take it out for a drive and its warmed up,if i let it idle for a few minutes and go to take off it tries to stall and the revs are dropping down near the 0 then rev just over the 1 and continues to do this until i give it a bit then it will do it a few mins later and stalls when i pull up in traffic. i have noticed the car does not boost as hard as it did before and ive chaqnged the fuel filter as it was due for a new one. my friend says its cause my clutch and pressure plate are screwed but another says it might be the fuel pump or injectors. any ideas??? also i still got the stock bov on,so its not that.
  20. i have asked a few mates,some say yes and the others say no. i live in NSW and the cops in my town are picking on everyone who drives a turbo and i dont want any hassles from them. and are they easy to install yourself or am i better off getting someone who knows what there doing?
