My ceffy being picked up today
Mase replied to someonestolecc's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
im not sure if my laurel did have guages in it but it was gutted when it got here. Holes where guages were, turbo timer and maybe what was an ebc holes were left in the dash. Little annoyed but i'll fix it. Dangerousdave you were in town the other night hey? (saturday). I pulled up next to you in the primed onevia. -
come on all you people who call yourself tech gurus!!!

ok, i have a late model r32 rb20det in my onevia (silvia with 180 front), it has F.E.T high capacity coil packs in it. I went to throw them in the laurel the other day and noticed that the plugs are different. The laurel has an early rb20det in it. Still a silver top though. The plugs on the ignitor are also different. Would i be able to cut the loom just after the ignitor on both engines and just switch them over and resolder them without any dramas??? any info would be great thanks. Cheers Jayson

Who has fitted a 2wd RB26 in their GTS?
Mase replied to bbenny's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
so can the rb25 bottom end be bolted onto the rb20 head? I have a rb25 bottom end with pistons, crank etc sittign here. Wouldn't mind rebuilding it and throwing it in the laurel if it can be done. -

are there any One-via's in Australia that we know of?
Mase replied to badman's topic in General Automotive Discussion
did i mention mine is for sale??? hehe. Before or after paint, not fussed. -
Ok, im guaging interest before my car goes off to be painted. OR i may even sell before paint if someone wants to snap it up a bit cheaper. The car is a 91 silvia with a 180sx front (onevia). Roughly 95 000klms Engine: rb20det timing belt and water pump replaced frequently serviced by myself Mods: HKS mushroom pod filter Full 3" exhaust including double dump which goes for at least 40cms OS Geiken Button Clutch and OS lightened flywheel (very heavy clutch!!) Bosch 040 fuel pump r32 gtst front brakes Front and Rear Strut braces rear sway bar from a 32, if that makes any difference? Boost and temp guage FET turbo timer Lowered boost and speed cut removed brakes and engine conversion are blue plated so no hassles Exterior/interior 18" Five spoke wheels !Bling! (265 wide on the rear!) (wheels 4 and 5 stud) full bodykit including GP Sports front bar (new), VErtex rear bar (new about 3 months ago), genuine bomex side skirts, vented headlight cover (new) Shift knob, gear boot etc, minor stuff that can be changed or kept depending on likes/dislikes Wing removed and holes patched professionally Crazy headlight trick which i used a couple of times at QR when i took it for a run pioneer 10" sub, amp, 6" pioneers, 4" can't remember brand, pioneer cd player Immobiliser and kill switch Now, painted and finished i wanted 16k for the car, but will take 14k as it is now with a rwc. The car has just had 6 months rego put on it. The reason for selling is i want a 4 door and have purchased another car. Always get comments about the car, will come up a real treat when the paint is done. Im going to paint it in straight white, but someone might want to go the full deal with a pearl or something so i will ask before it goes to the paint shop. The last image was when it was sprayed by myself, i wasn't 100% happy with it so the car has been rubbed back and getting ready to take it to the shop. The side skirts weren't on it at this stage. Will drop the price for removal of parts like the wheels maybe? Could use them on the next project. Cheers Jayson 0401 669 900 [email protected]

Full tank of gas
Mase replied to Mase's topic in Importing, Compliance, Modification Laws & Regulations
i'd say i will drain it i think. Think im gonna have to remove the tank though which will be a bitch. Unless someone knows of a drain plug in the laurels? i doubt it. -
definately, i've never driven let alone drifted a car this heavy. The s13 was easy to get sideways and keep it, laurel will be interesting. Im just loving the fact that i got a sun roof, room to fit friends in the car and that i can actually fit comfortably and then throw it round the track.

Hey, this may seem weird but i thought i'd put it up. My laurel that i just got in had a lot of the goodies taken off it before it came over. Which makes me think the last owner was a little stingy and used for next project. :whackit: The thing that concerns me tho is the fuel tank is absolutely packed full of fuel, ie, you couldn't put anymore fuel in the tank. Does this seem suss to anyone?? :jester: Maybe im just being over concerned but i was wondering if there is any way i can test for water in the fuel? A friend laughed when i said this but also the fuel smells quite nice unlike the usual bp ultimate i throw in the onevia.

i think panels, badges etc are going to be a issue with this car so im not too worried about it. However we have a bodykit maker that sponsors our car club so im thinking of giving him the front guards to mould and see if he can make some fibreglass widened ones which i can buy just in case i stuff up cuz it's bound to happen if im drifting. Checked underneath today and noticed it has alluminium diff cradle bushes as well. Having an issue though with the fuel, the ecu had a lot of things piggy backed into it like turbo timer and safc etc, they have been removed and i think that a wire or two may be loose and stopping the fuel pump from being activated or the fuel pump is gone.

pics here Many thanks to john from import bitz, i've just purchased a Nissan Laurel off him. Just a run down if u don't know what a laurel is, 4 door sedan, r32 driveline (engine and box), s13 suspension setup. (like the ceffy's). I "think" (ie not sure) that they might be like a luxury version kinda thing Came with cusco lsd, cat back, front and rear strut braces, gtr fuel pump, rechipped ecu, nardi steering wheel, shift and handbrake stuff etc. The body overall is great but unfortunately the door trims and dash have seen better days, i've sussed it out tho and basically just needs some new material reglued back on as most of it is cloth. However seats, carpet etc are great. Will be transferring a few goodies from my onevia onto it like coilovers, quickshifter and maybe the rb25 turbo. Plans for it are fmic, sound and wheels. Then it's cruise and drift ready. Will be used for those exact things and i'll be selling the onevia once it's painted. The laurel still needs a bit of work due to a few issues and then still needs compliance but im in no rush. putting these wheels on it most likely cheers Jayson

lol, now you've upset a few people inark!!! I don't mind it. Wonder if it's achievable with the laurel as well?

nothing like a blow below the belt. Hope your wallet is chunky

maxim i was interested in that. I heard you had to modify the trans tunnel though or the firewall and this made me a little hesitant. I have on my onevia with rb20det, 18's, Tein HR's and front and rear strut braces. I found the strut brace really made up for the heavier engine. The rb is great for drifting, i get minimum understeer so its fantastic in that regard. I have a few friends who do some track racing. In the wet weather against a whole lot of other s13's, an rb25 powered silvia had the best time round the track. In the wet. Anyways the handling effect isn't too bad, and i would go to the extent to say it's a benefit if the car is being used for drifting as it eliminates some understeer. Turbo tits is right too. Rb25 box bolts to rb26. To do a 4wd conversion to an s13 would be a very big task and i haven't seen it done yet.

It's Tax Time (Or Christmas for some of us)
Mase replied to Bass Junky's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
paying for someone to professionally spray paint my car after i give up on the effort im putting in now. Painting a daily driver is a no no.
