  1. Cefiros are about 40 or 50kg's lighter than the r32's so thats a big plus. The laurels which are also a very similar car are about 100kg heavier than the cefiro's. Im thinking about a laurel or a cefiro once i sell my rb20det onevia. I want a 4 door as i need something for taking clients round and mates.
  2. I'd personally suggest going an rb25 in it. Much less hassle and i believe it's a much easier conversion. Rb25 front cuts are more readily available also. I've done an rb20det conversion and it was alright, but not worth the pain in my personal opinion. Unless you want pure drag or drift and less streetable then go for it, but otherwise just play with the engine it came out with. I reckon u can get similar results out of the rb25 with the money you save from buying a rb26. You still have to get a rb25 gearbox remember which is about 1400 bucks on top if you get the rb26 front cut. Just a few suggestions.
  3. I currently have red F.E.T high capacity coil packs in my car. As im about to sell the car im trying to sell some of the goodies and swap for stock replacement parts. These coil packs are a straight bolt in for rb20det's and are worth around the 1k mark new. Splitfires are about $880 i believe. Im after $450 and your coil packs. If anyone is interested in them send me an email or pm. In brissie Cheers Jayson [email protected]
  4. it certainly is my friend. Ceffy's use s13 suspension. So if you want coilovers just buy a set for an s13 and your set.
  5. white smoke is if the turbo is blown generally, blue for engine, black if ur running very rich. Your basically describing white smoke as far as i can tell. (whitey grey). Does the turbo whine at all on boost? I'd get a bov as well even if it is stock. It may be stuffed rings but from what i was always told, blue smoke equals engine, white equals turbo. I suggest putting a bov on and borrowing another turbo from someone and giving that a quick try. I'd clean everything out first though. Did u buy the car from anyone off here?
  6. are you going to rebuild ur engine yourself? If you take it to a workshop make sure you take it to a reputable one. I've had two mates, one with sr20det and another with rb20det who took both there engines to seperate mechanics for a rebuild and they were both stuffed up. I'm off to work so someone with more time can answer that list.
  7. i'd love one of those tracks in brissie. Twice a week that's fantastic. I drive a rb20det powered onevia (silvia with a 180sx front). I went to the last drift event and it's nothing like you will find on the street. Short 90 degree bends are easy but when you have a full 180 degree wide turn, then have to link it up to another going the other way, you really start to struggle to get the car where you wanna go. To have a track setup like full lock does would be an absolute treat. I know i for one would be out there regularly as i would much rather be doing it in a safe environment rather than an industrial estate 30mins away from my house. I see quite a few people talking about drifting but never see their cars at the events. I can only assume with all the talk that they are doing it on the street or in fact not at all. I think this conversation could have been cut short and basically stated that someone cleaned up this blokes mail box, he's pissed off and wants to vent his anger and so he vents it on a stereotype. No probs, i hope your front yard is fixed very quickly and give him a clip round the head for me too as its just plain stupid to drift anywhere near people and their homes etc.
  8. Can you pm me the link at all please. I'll give it to the bloke who bought the controller off me. Cheers Jayson
  9. Do you need instructions on how to set it up or to just configure it?? I recently had one of these and had it running on my car but sold it this week. I can tell you how to set it up but the only adjustment in the ssbc is the gain option which can be adjusted on the black controller box. Is this the one you are on about?? ssbc link If you need to know how to install it send me a pm. cheers Jayson
  10. I reworded my search and got a few more results. So far i have removed mostly everything except for the harmonic balancer. I've cracked the centre nut but now need a harmonic puller to remove it. I paid $74.50 for a rb30 water pump (Protech) and had some gasket goo around so all up it should hopefully only cost me $74.50. Joel the rb30 water pump seems identical to me. The only difference being that the top 10mm bolt hole is not slotted like the nissan one. Cheers Jayson
  11. I just checked on meggala's web page and found that the rb30 water pumps do fit the rb20det so i have picked up one for my rb20det. Can anyone give me a quick run down on the process??? Cheers Jays
  12. what about some 13b injectors?? They are the same impedance and are pretty cheap like 200 a set of six or something.
  13. I was told the vl (rb30) water pump fits the rb25's, but i was just wondering if anyone knew if they fit the rb20det as well?? Also, can anyone give me a quick run down on removal and install of a water pump. This is how i see it, *use white out to mark where cas sits on timing cover as i don't have a timing gun *remove cas *remove timing cover *mark appropriate spots with white out so timing belt goes straight back in original position *remove water pump after draining coolant system *clean around the area with a rag etc and apply gasket with some gasket goo (any suggestions? ) *install new water pump *put timing belt back on inline with white marks *put all covers back on Any suggestions/tips etc would be great. cheers Jayson
  14. exactly what this bloke is saying. Im running 9-10psi and i regapped my plugs to 0.8. Coppers all the way mate!! heaps cheaper than iridiums and with my car i need new sparkies no matter what brand at abotu 6000klms anyway so its no use forking the extra 80 for me. Apparently the coating is meant to come off like someone said tho if u regap iridiums.
  15. Stock as a rock vl wagon auto for sale. It's my mum's old car. 290 000klms. No rwc, rego runs out next month. In brisbane. Has 5 good tyres, all instrument cluster and dash A1, all lights and panels straight etc, auto replaced 2 years ago but it leaks now, car driveable but engine needs some attention as well as front struts. Lifters were bled and serviced about 10 000klms ago. Good start for rb25det conversion maybe or for someone with a bit of mechanic knowledge to fix up for a cheap run around. Also if you wanted to do a rb30/25?? $1000neg 0401 669 900 or [email protected] Cheers Jayson click here for pics
  16. Just a bit of info for you all. I practically manage a servo now. We get fuel from the bp refinary but my company isn't a BP. The delivery i got yesterday we paid roughly 90c a Litre for our price. Diesel was about the same. This gives you something to go by. Unfortunately due to our companies size etc we wont get it as cheap as BP and Shells will but you get the idea. From my point of view, shell and bp seem a little unstoppable and have the ability to squash the market if need be. This sort of power i don't think should be allowed and I think the government should monitor the cost of fuel and sale price. My theory in the long run is the people who are makign the most off the fuel are in order 1. The government 2. The oil refinaries 3. The big companies like BP and Shell 4. The independants Wow, i just spat out a whole lot of useless crap so im off to bed as im up at 3:45am to open up. If your cruisin on beadesert rd and see a onevia at a blue servo, that's me!! Cheers Jays
  17. I've got a set of 18's on my onevia as neil said. I'm cool with lending but i'll need some of your details etc and you would need to clean them!!! hehe. http://au.f1.pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/dmc198...b&.dnm=1b01.jpg Here is a pic of them on my car before i started to paint it and re kit the car. Thing is, i have r32 callipers on the front so your wheels would either need to clear them so my car has something to sit on for the photo shoot, or i will need a hand to throw the front end on the axle stands. What area do you live in etc??? If you need a hand pm me or give me a call on 0401 669 900. This is the 5th of June your talking about right? Cheers Jayson ps. does that make me a rice boy nismo boy??? scchhweeeet
  18. Jap snow tyres all the way!!! I use 15" snow tyres on my stock rims and have my 18's on the front. The 18's have bridgestones on them and are a pretty decent tyre which is good for defeating understeer. Smaller radius wheel is meant to be easier to spin im pretty sure.
  19. maybe you just need to build your confidence up bud. Your best bet would be to go out to a track day and practise. You'll know exactly what needs doing yourself after a few laps, or you can hit some vacant industrial estates late at night but i might get flamed for sayign that. But beware, the industrial estates may seem harmless but be prepared to flip the bill for some panel work. Monday night we went drifting and we had done some real good corners and when it came to one turn i'd done heaps of times and thought i could do with my eyes closed, it all turned for the worse.. Just be prepared to fork out for a bit of panel work occasionally and practise in safe environments as much as possible. I'd like to say i always do it at the track, but track events are 2 months apart. Qld needs a dedicated drift track and i'm thinking of maybe organising a petition to send to parliament for it as this state's drift scene is becomming bigger and bigger. anyways i had my rant, here's my acco pic from the other night!!!
  20. :flamed: And it's harder to drift a land barge, whereas silvias are a lot lighter and much more easier to shift the weight position in!!!! :headspin:
  21. the brakes loook awesome, what paint did you use for it? That VHT stuff is alright but it never turns out as bright as that.
  22. a lot of the imports sit across the road i find. Bit safer over there as well i reckon. If you have a lot of spare points then by all means go to harry's, but for someone like myself on a one year 1 point then i wouldn't go near the place. Something to think about.... I've had 3 fines in my history, 1 at harry's diner, the other at aspley maccas and another on the way to aspley maccas. never had a speeding fine. I no longer go to any local car hangouts, i just cruise with the rest of the boys in our car club up a mountain, to an industrial estate or hang out somewhere away from the unwanted attention.
  23. little dissapointed to see that stickers are a big concern when im looking at what looks to be a stock exhaust. But i guess, whatever takes your fancy the most when it comes to performance vs looks.
  24. Hmmm, im looking for the bastard with the fake plates NAS013. Can't wait to get a hold of him. I lost my license cuz of that bastard.
