lots of panel beaters on this site i see
-
hahah, 71 rwkw's apparently. This was according to all star tunings dyno in zillmere. Lets just say i won't be doing a power run there in the near future!!!! hehe
-
yeah if you've had a service then your sparkies must be fine. If it's never happened before then check they are in tight and so are your coil packs and also check the plugs are connected firmly. All else fails then find a good mate like TonyGTSt and borrow some coil packs. Only drama is, if your problem is very intermittent it may be hard to diagnose if it's not happening all the time.

nice! I was wondering if it was just b'shit or not. Now i have an answer. I always wanted an rb25det powered r32 as i like things that are different. Thus why i have a rb20det powered silvia with a 180sx front on it. Cheers and nice ride.

hehe, what can i say, im a cheap ass. I spent my $$ there today.

it seems like a good opponent for the subaru liberty wagons with the boxer twin turbo engines. I like it.

my photo adding didn't work so i've added a link in this one. link to pics before sanding oh yeah, im probably going to remove the wing also

Hey everyone, now this may not interest some of you as it is a silvia/onevia, not a skyline but im sure most of you are genuine enthusiasts so i'll put it up. I have put a rb20det in my car, then swapped fronts with a mate's 180 so i have a 180sx front with veilside front bar, these panels are white, i also got bomex side skirts and rear pods for $150 so i couldn't knock it back. Now comes the fun part, i've decided to respray the whole car as there are just soo many little niggly scratches, dints etc that need touching up. I don't think i'll paint the car, but i want to save a few $$ on labour by sanding it back myself as nobody is made of money! Just got a few questions Sanding: I've started with 400 grade sandpaper and using water i've started sanding back the front, at what point is enough sanding?? I don't plan on going back to bear metal if i can help it, just the undercoat/primer. Also, some panels have some small fine dints, what's the best way to attack these???? Also, as i get closer should i go to 1200 grade sandpaper? Colours: I've been umming and ahhhing about a colour for some time. Im throwing up between these colours. Something like the xr6 blue/wrx blue, canary yellow, white, black. I've tried to pick colours which would go well with the wheels as i don't plan on buying another set of 18's again!!! I've thrown in a few pics to work with, the front bar has issues and i will be sorting that out eventually and i may be getting a better rear skirt/bar etc. Thanks for any advice/tips. Cheers Jayson

i plugged my playstation into my rb20det sil and i remapped the fuel/air ratios. I just used the plug and play Gran Turismo edit. You guys want me to do yours? On a serious note, if this did actually work and the fabrication wasn't much to take it up to the price of a r32 one then it would be quite handy for rb20det owners. Be good if he gave some more info tho.

What could this be?? Flamage, Running too Rich, Ignition?
Mase replied to meshmesh's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Flames are awesome!!! I saw this orange 32 cruising in the city blow a massive one out the back. My guesses are your still running uber rich mate. I get the odd pop but not every time. Has changed a lot since i removed the vacuum line of the stock fuel reg and installed a malpassi rising rate fuel reg and set the base pressure. -
GTR choking & surging for first 3 minutes
Mase replied to Penfold's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
hey mate, my rb20det does the same, i have changed afm, plugs, o2 sensor and the injectors have been cleaned and flow tested and still does it. Just something for you to go on. Cheers -
How many KM'S have you done on forged pistons?
Mase replied to Cubes's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
geez, all u lucky buggers with rebuilds with forged pistons!! -
won't bolt on, different flanges. This turbo is a good upgrade for an rb20det, also 2L, so maybe it would be ok? Otherwise a bit laggy.
-
thanks heaps. Yeah i read it when the vacuum line was disconnected. Last time i took my car to a dyno place they advanced the timing 35 degrees advanced but i guess it has to be done. thanks for the info sk.
-
yeah im going the v grooved ones next set just to try them out, good to see im not the only one.

results of my R33 v 2000 R8 ClubSport
Mase replied to pooski's topic in Motorsport Discussion & Builds
They are diff cradles which are used to change the angles on your diff. it can make the car has super grip or it can be real slippery. good for drifting when slippery and good fro drag when grippy. -
how much was it mate?

I've got a malpassi rising rate fuel reg in my rb20det powered s13. I had it set at about 40psi and i removed the vacuum line on my stock fuel regulator. I went from getting 350klms out of a tank to about 500klms. Off boost was more responsive and i was pretty happy with it. However i kinda think it's too good to be true so im a little worried i may be running too lean. I only have minor mods: rb25 turbo, stock boost (8psi), pod and the fuel reg. Im getting an exhaust tomorrow finally! the injectors were recently flow tested and cleaned and are spot on. Do you think i should drop the pressure back down to 40psi, or what would be your opinion? thanks Jayson

im interested in this. I think my standard coil packs are playing up so im after a cheap upgrade also. A mate was using these bosch coil packs which were really cheap, they were mounted on in the engine bay and had plugs runnign to the top of the coil packs. This was on his CA18det. He said that he thought that maybe aftermarket management was needed to run them though but he wasn't sure.

Once and for all.. who iz da king of drift?
Mase replied to SeD's topic in Motorsport Discussion & Builds
a 180sx handles different in the fact that the rear is heavier due to the glass hatch so the weight is more 50 50. Some say this makes it better for drifting. I personally like my rb powered s13 as the front is heavier and the rear is easier to keep out with the front still keeping grip. i've read in a few mags that they say the s14 is better for drifting and the s13 (being silvia and 180) suffers a bit of understeer. -
Take this as an example Nothing against DR Drift but: Anyone interested? PM or E-Mail me. Send me a message with your name, car, credentials (who knows you to vouch you're one of us not a bluey) and anything else may be interesting. L8r all DOC Would he be concerned about a copper emailing him if they were talking about drifting at qld raceway or another nationwide track? If you're gonna set a standard, keep it! and sorry to bring u into it dr drift
-
im pretty sure it said pm the place to me. Where else are you gonna ask ey? i'll just telepathically ask people next time so we can all go on pretending that nobody is stupid enough to drift in industrial areas etc. Cheers

this was all done originally on the rb20 turbo. The episodes of it going to unlimited boost i think gave the rb20 turbo the last kick it needed to pack it in. now i have an rb25 turbo but i put the rb20 wastegate on there to run a bit more boost. I thought that maybe the rb20 wastegate may have been slightly faulty and that was the problem so i was goign to try it with the rb25 wastegate back on the rb25 turbo. will do a bit of experimenting shortly. Thanks for the tips fellas

i did bud, i ran all new vacuum hoses everywhere!! I'll try a different bleed valve or use the rb25 wastegate and see if that makes any difference. Cheers
