    Fuel

Its debatable. It produces less chemical energy however it burns more effcienty (resisting knock). Unless its cheaper or you can tweak your ecu I wouldnt even bother distinguishing between the two at the bowser
  9. Mastertint did mine, they were great. Lifetime warranty, scratch resistant titanium film etc. Go for darkest legal There are some more expensive films which look darker on the outside but still maintain the legal visibility in the car I believe this is for all cars manufacturered prior to 1994 - "Australian Auto Tinting Laws" No window films should be fitted to a vehicle front windscreen except for a visor strip across the top. All States and Territories in Australia Stipulate a minimum light transmission level (darkness) of 35% on all vehicle windows excluding the front windscreen. South Australia is the only state which stipulates the minimum light tranmission on the front wind up windows can be no lower than 70% All states and Territories in Australia stipulate that window films on vehicles must not be reflective. Reflective films are even more dangerous than illegally dark windows and all Police Forces and Transport Departments are very vigilant on defecting vehicles with reflective films. Reflective films are the shiny silver and bronze films which can be "fader" films chamging from dark to reflective, solid reflective films or sometimes shapes as flames or similar. (QLD allows reflectance less than 10%) Commercial vehicle tinting laws differ in most States and Territoties though, so check your local regulations before tinting a commercial vehicle. Typically any darkness film is allowed behind the driver in commercial vehicles. Commercial Vehicles does not mean 4WD though. It must be registered as a commercial type.
  10. Your car is built for a higher octane (100?). I would use at least 95 E10 is good, its cheap and should hold off those nasty noises - until you start winding up the timing that is. Even better, E85 Do a search for fuel consumption, plenty on here about possible causes i.e. sensors, filters etc.
  11. Borrow a steam cleaner from Bunnings for half the day, throw a conditioner into the water, and just get into it. That'll make sure all the shart stains are gone Then just use a new car scent hanger from supercheap in there and hey presto!

    Dents

    1. do a search in the for sale section or check ebay 2. do a search for paintless dent repair in your area, cheap in comparison to spraying the whole door
  13. another red skyline with faded bonnet was stolen from varisty last night also. used in an atm explosion attack in elanora&robina
  14. use, mass = torque / (9.81 x radius) this will give you an estimate of how much 'weight force' to put on the end of your wrench

    Whats This Part?

if you disconnected it it'll vent petrol vapour to the atmosphere
  16. Get the right battery or replace the whole HT lead with one from Supercheap
  17. clean ground and power terminals to starter. clean battery to ground terminal
  18. You can remove the starter and use a screwdriver to lock the flywheel before using a breaker bar. I still couldnt loosen it first time, but you may be able to. This worked after I loosed everything up using the method below. I ended up using an electric impact gun. It removed it easily and effortlessley. I tried the first procedure for 2 days and started to go mental over the one bolt holding me up. Use a proper impact bit and it'll absorb all those nasty 'shock loads' (crank can handle it no probs anyway). Use a proper fitting socket (full hex/flat face) as mentioned Also as above bush mechanic style, you can use a breaker bar on the bolt and brace it against up against the chassis and crank the motor over with your starter. I would recommend against this though as the starter will give way before the crank
  19. Theres nothing much to them, a rebuilt one is almost 100% brand new anyway apart from the housing and thats usually repainted also. So its cheaper, direct fit, almost 100% brand new, and has a higher/correct output rating (less power supply issues down the track) A non standard one is more expensive, possibly not a direct fit, 100% brand new, lower/incorrect output rating (with possible problems in future) Weigh the benefits and make your decision. I paid approx. $130 to get an RB30 alt recond about 4-5yrs ago
  20. something thats putting additional load on the engine i.e. drawing more current from the alternator or engaging a clutch for belt drive etc.
  21. Get it rebuilt, should cost half that. I personally wouldnt use an alternator that couldnt supply as much current as the original, especially if the car has been modified with bigger stereo's and/or full of old/dirty connectors & grounds etc.
  22. 2-Ton Service jack $199 from www.direct-mining.com (Aus.) Saddle height 3-3/4" low, 20" high Chassis Length 26-3/4" with 50" handle
  23. it will stop your battery from charging properly. run a mmeter over the car and look for a short
