How To Get More Power From A Naturally Aspirated (na) Engine
inthisglass replied to Eug's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
so i could physically rotate the crank angle sensor on the front of the engine but it would put my ignition firing out of sync? is it worth doing the timing and ignition or would i be best to just do the air/fuel ratios? i was thinking that for 98 octane fuel i would need a slight timing advance as the 100 octane fuel over in japan land is alot more resistant to compression etc and the timing doesnt need to be as advanced. atleast thats my understanding of it, please correct me if im wrong. -

How To Get More Power From A Naturally Aspirated (na) Engine
inthisglass replied to Eug's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
i would like very much to know how to advance the timing with out the ecu! i was always under the impression the timing was all handled by the ecu. so an emanage or a safc2 will sort out my running very rich problems? -
that thing is just nice control as well, full 360 and all

the tempe tyres one doesnt suit a skyline at all the ozzy tyres ones are not too bad my mate has the top ones on his ba falcon ute and doesnt even look so good on that.. some second hand jap rims are always going to be your best bet

i bought that exact same foam with the metalic side from clark rubber made up an air box with it and it keeps a lot of the hot air away from my pod.

How To Get More Power From A Naturally Aspirated (na) Engine

Im with whyte, Im still tossing up between an apexi safc2 to just tune the air/fuel ratios or spending a bit more money and getting something that can do timing as well. just want to know whether timing advancement will be worth the extra money or should i just get the air/fuel done to stop it running so rich. its an N/a so it doesn't really need a stand alone ecu. -
10 points great pic

R33 Series 2 Front Bar On Series 1.5?
inthisglass replied to SiR_RB's topic in Exterior & Interior Styling
s 1.5 (i have one) were the transitional stage form s1 to s2 basically s1.5 were made at the end of 1995 and early 1996 they have all the same body and interior of the series ones but have the series 2 engines and rear wing. so cosmetically a s1.5 is a s1. which means if your looking for kits, bonnets, lights etc and your have a s1.5 you want s1 bits engine wise its a series 2 which is 99% the same anyway (someone correct me if im wrong) umm yeh -

i have a ticking noise and i have NO idea where its coming from. can only hear it when im driving and its on the left side. sounds very similar to and this might sound weird dry leaves rolling along the road. if you know that funny sort of scrapping/ ticking noise the leaves make when blown by the wind well its like that but under my car. hasnt coursed any problems so far and no one can find the noise because you can only hear it when driving around with the windows down. any ideas?

Finally got it all done yesterday! and im happy with the results the car pulls alot better through the rev range and i get more out of each gear. as i went from mild steel to stainless cat back the car has a much nicer growl. before it just sort of droned then droned some more. the car is alot more responsive which makes driving it a lot more fun! the extractors smoked some what but because i had the wrapping and high temp paint on them the coby paint didnt come off.. ill put a sound clip up when i can be bothered.. end of the story.. im happy

Ticking Noise From Dash On Startup
inthisglass replied to nuclear_skyline's topic in General Maintenance
was covered in another tread somewhere the gear that opens and closes one of the valves in the air con system is buggered. so when the gear turns it slips and makes the noise. very common in r33's and the only way to fix it is to take the dash out so most people don't worry about it as its too much work to get rid of 10 seconds of ticking that doesn't really do any harm. -
its personal opinion really. some people love the sound they make but i personally do not. resonator will help with the droning.

ok everyone so my extractors and new catback go on tomorrow cant wait! im posting a few pics of my progress.. first half of heat wrapping done ^^ fully wrapped and painted in high temperature paint ^^ the paint i bought to seal the heat wrapping and hopefully create more heat protection ^^ after i was done wrapping and painting i had some heat wrap left over. i remembered the "ghetto foil" idea for the induction pipe and decided that heat wrapping would probably be better and as i had some left i thought i'd try it. WELL! i highly recommend heat wrapping your induction pipe! i didnt think it would make much of a difference but i was wrong. good investment imo. anyway will let all know how they go afer they are fitted tomorrow cheers Karl

xforce mufflers will give you cancer of the ear the cats wont as you wont really hear the noise the cat produces you basically only hear the cannon droning away
-
i did that last night. took about an hour and a half from madurah to cbd.
-
yeh im with ash i just dont see the point in buying a new gear box if your only going to used the bell housing or weaker internals of the sr20 gearbox? just spend a few more dollars and buy a stronger gearbox that will fit without modification.

its been said before but the stock rims look eleventy billion times better and woah! that r35 looks mad in white. much better than the black or silver imo.
