just post the picture i wish to get the same one but want to see how it fits on the gear stick (i hate when they sit on top and dont go all the way to the gear boot)
-
you have to take your gauge cluster out and take the bulb out of the back, if you know how it'll take about 10 minutes but the first time i took mine out it took me the best part of an hour.. its figuring out all the plastic dash clips..
-
yeh it would have been loads easier lol. oh well, i learnt the hard way i guess. p.s: i stole your signature idea

alright so its a funny story but my aim was to get my old steering wheel off and get my new one on. and i acieved just that. so i needed these torx screws out, but they were bigger than any of the ones i had, PLUS they were security screws so they had the piece of metal in the centre of them. So first of all i got my drill and drilled out the center of the torx screw so i could try use a big screwdriver. Needless to say this didnt work but it was worth a try. so then i decided to try and go through the front of the steering wheel by removing all the plastic coverings, so i could use multigrips to undo the torx screws from the side. well i managed to get the torx screws out using the multigrips but the difficult part was removing the plastic cover from the front of the wheel. now, i have nfi how the hell the front of the steering wheel comes off when the airbag wants to come out because i had to drill out 9 rivits and cut a few sections of plastic in order to reveal the airbag. so i was now at the point of no return as i had esentially just used a drill to remove what wasnt meant to be removed. nevermind the nismo wheel is better.. so i then had to get the air bag out of the way (which is pink by the way?? i always thought they were white) now airbags are mighty tough as i descovered and had to resort to a pair of tin snips to get rid of it. so i finally got it off and i was surprised that i was able to pull it of the steering column by just giving it a few hard knocks either side. Then i managed to put the boss kit and steering wheel on with no problems. Apart from the fact i didnt put it on straight the first time as my wheels werent perfectly straight when i parked the car.. word of advice: DONT do what i did! be patient and either borrow or go buy a torx key as you will save A LOT of time and you will be able to use the airbag in the future if you feel the need.

so its a straight forward task, the tighter you wrap it the better it will stay on. cant wait for mine! oh and have you got the flange welded yet? or did you wrap them first then get it welded later? extractors for the exel, nice! not sure if its just me but wouldnt the money be better spent if it was going towards a nice shiney skyline of your own? or perhaps this exel has something up its sleave for the future that will blow our minds

i just took the bulb out no more annoying hicas light..
-
you could just mount some speakers there instead, as the subs need the box to work properly and would sound sh*t and not fit well.

i just picked up a fusion one and im really happy with it. it may not be a big brand in the alarm side of things but it has some cool features eg: - button that maks it beep when in a carpark so you can find it easily - locks and unlocks BOTH my doors (last one only locked drivers door) - has a knock sensor so it beeps if people lean on your car (i personally dont like people leaning on mine so i like this feature) - good range for the remote (about 50 metres) plus it only cost me $150 i went to deerings autotronics as it has a good rep. they charged me $170 to install it, bit pricey but they did a good job.

Licence Plate Then Tyre Theft Protection?
inthisglass replied to Leon.T's topic in Car Audio & Electrical
+1 for the torx screws for the licence plates as for the valve caps, just put on a set of the plain black plastic ones (no one steals them) -
woah cool a lot cheaper than i was expecting.. how much was the 2 inch stuff? and how do you atttatch it to the headers? do you buy some sort of glue? cheers
-
still waiting how much did you pay for the heat wrap? did you get it done professionally or are you doing it yourself? i'd like to know so i dont get wripped off etc..
-
Ok so i bought one of the HKB boss kits from malz but it didnt come with the star tool to take off my stock steering wheel which leaves me stuck before i have even started. so does anyone have one of the star tools that i can borrow? i have this nice leather nismo wheel and its just sitting around in my room
-
Woah i wish mine sounded like that! altough when watching it i noticed your first gear you get to 50km/h then 2nd you go to around 90km/h then stop at 120km/h perhaps im just not as nice to my car as you because i get 60 out of first and justy over 100 out of second.. perhaps its the different gear ratios on the gts-4 compared to my gts? well anyway i love that sound! what is your exhaust set up exactly?
-
wow that went really smoothly, i was secretly expecting delays and the like.. do you know if we got the orange or the black? cheers Karl
-
Hey, if you have a quick look through most of the exhaust threads in the N/a section you will find that everyone has come to the conclusion that there is no way to get rid of the rasp between 3 and 4000 rpm or there abouts. its got something to do witht he twin cam setup on the rb's just ignore it or turn your stereo up
-
Before christmas !! Now that would be awsome. should really start ringing around for prices on heat wrapping.. cheers again.
-
honestly why would you bother putting another stock exhaust on? you wouldnt gain anything. Your best to just get the aftermarket extractors and cat back, you'll gain a bit more top end and alot more responsiveness and the noise makes the driving a whole lot more fun. cops generally wont pick on a non turbo car as much as there are less things that are easily noticable unless you have a pod. Stick to the road rules and youll have a hard time getting a canary.

WGMG when theres 3 seconds to go on an ebay auction for that sexy momo gear knob that you sat up all night watching and some prat out bits you.
-
if the pay is better than i currently get ($21.50 an hour) and get cheap tyres i may well be interested.
-
Ok cheers for that, ill give it a go, doesnt sound too difficult. I think ill get my dad or something to hold the front just so i dont cop an unappriciated blow to the face. ill head down to malz with my wheel and find one that fits.

cruising is what we do best ok so i feel that this will happen better if we organise a meet point and route then tell people. That way people can decide if they want to come as they have some info to go on. So it seems to be the trend to meet at citywest, if anyone else has a better idea do share. night cruises are good but i was thinking a day time one for a bit of a change. Just so we can actually see each others cars and possibly go somewhere. eg cruise to kings park or something and have a bbq. Then we can meet each other better and talk all things Naturally aspirated. r33-gts I am here by appointing you helper #1 just because i can Ideas people!

I also need a boss kit as i just bought a nismo wheel off ebay. so heres a bump Anyone know about the quality of the ones you get at supercheap and the like or should i go somewhere else? cheers karl.
