Also interested in the cost to send one to W.A but im interested in one for my r33.
-
well like i said, theres no rush. Lets just chat about it first to see if we can get people interested.. I think inviting other N/a cars from other forums etc is a good idea. Get a bit of variety happening. (If anyone is on nissansilvia.com etc perhaps post this topic there aswell?) Anyone know of any good areas for a drive? Hill are usually pretty fun but have to watch for Roos etc.. any interest or comments are welcome

Turboing the current motor would be cheaper but i was always under the impression that alot of the N/a components were not tough enough to handle the huge increase in power. For example - stock internals arent as strong as the Turbo modle ones - the breaking department needs to be upgraded - your compression ratio could be all out of wack and would take a lot of tuning to get the car running nicely - the N/a diff isnt strong enough for turbo power levels I could be wrong but after upgrading all these parts to turbo spec your going to be looking at a few $$ It always comes down to how much you love your current car and how much money your willin to spend on it.

I know its not in the right section but i thought it might get some more interest here.. I thought i would be a good idea to try organise/discuss a Non turbo skyline cruise. (for people in W.A) Many a time i rock up to a cruise and look past the hordes of commodores etc to see the small group of fellow import enthusiasts that i will try to stick with for the night. Only to find i am quickly blown away on the straights buy their turbo charged, intercooled racing machines. So anyway, if other non turbo drivers wish to organise a cruise for our snail-less machines let the descussion begin! Things like - The date - Night or day cruise - Where the meet point should be and where we should travel - Any activities etc.

2.5 for me also as the rest of exhaust is 2.5 in the other thread greg mentioned that the orange paint stripped of at the first sign of heat anyway.

sort of off topic but today i was in canningvale at the set of lights waiting to turn right onto nicolson road away form the livingston shops. i was at the front of the row and accross form me there was a marked police bike with full uniform on etc waiting to go straight on. Anyway, when his light went green the cop took off and did a wheelie accross nearly the entire intersection. It wasnt high, maybe 15cm's of the ground but seeing a cop do one accross an intersection just made my jaw drop. perhaps not all cops are what we make them out to be and have a bit of hoon at heart..

5 studs and some f**king HOT dish! i want dish

Chrome rims on a skyline look crap anyway. get some japanese rims that are light and strong (there are quite a lot of different designs aswell) also probably best to place it safe and go for rims that are meant to fit your car and not go chucking spacers on etc.
-
fitment depends on how mechanically minded you are. they are easy to fit yourself, and if you can weld even better. otherwise it depends on the going rate of your local exhaust shop. i had mine fitted for $250 (including new flange, gasket, new head studs). where do you buy the new head studs, flange and gaskets from? Will most exhaust shops have what we need? i know a 2.5inch gasket is easy to come buy but its the head studs im really asking about. I dont see the point in the different colour choice as most people will get them heat wrapped or coated anyway.. anyway, big thumbs up to eug, its exiting to see progress.
-
so its $285 all up.. Will it cost anymore to get them to W.A? just let us know when you need the deposit etc. cheers Karl
-
So it's possible to get just the extractors and NO coating. As i would prefere to just get mine heat wrapped. cheers for your help so far Eug.
-
ok cool, is heat wrapping cheaper? If so may as well just get the extractors wrapped in stead of coated.. so your saying we should get the extractors fitted, cut to size if nessesary and have flanges welded on then have the cat and cat-back made up. either way im still looking forward to the day i get mine

Need Another Car, But Need Some Help
inthisglass replied to jon4r's topic in General Automotive Discussion
Bummer about the laws over east. Here in W.A we can drive what ever we please. well about the cars. i personally own a 95 model R33 GTS and its a really nice car, runs well and will out perform the prelude and integra and give the falcon a run for its money. (not sure about the zx though.) if you want to have fun while driving go for either the 33 or the zx. Both have decent power for N/a's and are rear wheel drive plus look hot. Both the hondas are front wheel drive and not all that much fun and the falcon is well a falcon and is a boring car to say the least. but thats just my opinion. -
Genuine N/a R33 Rims For Sale - Anyone Keen?
inthisglass replied to br3tt's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
if they were in W.A i'd buy them. some cheap rims and tyres to burn up (legally of course) send them to me for free? ill pay for them.. i meant free postage. -
The rumble effect is caused by the WRX's boxer engine not the exhaust. the only way to make a line sound like a wrx is if your engine is fu**ed. either enjoy your RB's beautiful note or buy a WRX.

A Lot of people are not wanting the hpc coating, im not sure if its the money issue of getting them coated or if its just the fact that no one knows what the coating actually achieves. If i know what it does and if its benificial enough ill go for the coating.. also, im getting a new catback made up in 2.5 inch mandrel bent stainless steel. (custom made by kirmit on these forums) Will the coby extractors be the same length as the original headers? or should i wait till i get the extractors then fit the new catback as the extractors might alter the length of the rest of the pipe? im pretty sure the extractors should just fit straight in but just want to make sure i wont have to get the catback modified. oh and im still definately in for the group by cheers Karl
-
a cat back is pretty straight forward to fit. if all the hangers are already welded on the system why not try bolt it up yourself? took me about an hour and it was the first time i had ever attempted. save yourself some cash

would also like to know about the prices for a handbreak boot. mines looking terrible atm. cheers.

Ticking Noise - Possible Manifold Leak?
inthisglass replied to Black Widow's topic in General Automotive Discussion
It probably is the manifold as you described the no boost and loud exhaust but also have a look at the gears on the front of your engine. my car would some times make a ticking noise and then stop and then come back from time to time. It turned out the bearing of my idler gear had gone and was only being held in place by the tention of the belt. and +1 for the looking out for you knuckles. Those bolts are a bitch and you end up punching your engine a few times when they suddenly loosen or snap. good luck anyway. -
nice car. i almost bought a gts-4 similar to that. really good price aswell, if i were you i'd be happy with myself. make sure you post up some pics when its got some rims etc. good luck.
