  1. Where did everyone get theirs installed as i need to install mine soon ?
  2. I dont understand, a good aftermarket front bar should just bolt on with MINIMAL adjustments. There is no reason as to y he should charge u 500 to alter it. ESPECIALLY if he hasnt seen the bar. How can u charge someone money to alter a bar when u cant even tell if u have to alter it in the first place. I have had 4 different front bars replaced on 3 cars in the last 5 years and only once did a panel beater have to take an extra 30 mins to hack/alter a poor quality bar. And he shoudnt have to charge u for paint cause thats part of the quote.
  3. Thanks for the quote on the CWest front bar. Yeah those pictures are of the right bodykit but im pretty sure thats the kit for the GTR. Anyway, thanks for at least being able to match the quote. Ill get the kit off carmate cause i can just drive down and get it. Thanks anyhow your prices are great and i might get my panel beater friends to get quotes off u 2 now since u seem to be a bit cheaper. Do u have a personal email address ?
  4. Saw black R32 GTST. FLY32 at Nth Ryde RSL. I parked next to u dude, black R34.
  5. Yeah i wish id imported with powerplay. Ive always found them to be extremely helpful.
  6. I had a small incident about 1 month ago, very minor only need a new front bar thats all. But i spoke to my panel beater and arranged him to get a cheaper alternative and he has quoted them for a more expensive bar. So i will get my whole front resprayed with a new front bar. As far as the insurance agent is concerned once a quote has been accepted it doesnt matter what the panel beater does as long as he doesnt charge them more than he has quoted. The key is to talk to the panel beater b4 u get the quote and arrange for him to do what u want to the car. If he refuses u go find another panel beater. In my case I had an original cWest front bar which my panel beater quoted a replacement value of 2500. So i told him to get a copy bomex bar (i was getting kind of bored with the looks of my car) for 450 and then with the rest of the money he agreed to respray the front section of my car (bonnet, left right quards, side skirts). I am happy with the dealings, the panel beater is happy (he get business), the insurance agency is happy (he pays what he has been quoted). An aftermarket copy front bar like a 400R or veilside etc should only cost about 450 from carmate. Talk to your panel beater and find out what he has quoted for the front bar from Nissan. You will find that the nissan item is more expensive tell him to get an aftermarket front bar. As long as he can save some money he will do this for u.
  7. thanks champ. Im pretty sure the bar is way 2 damaged 2 repair but we'll see. So u cant get the bars i wanted quoted on ? and wow that was a fast response.
  8. Hi Autoabarn, I am literally about to go to Carmate and buy a C-West style front bar off them. But noticed your thread. Ive asked around but I cant seem to get a clear idea as to whether their kits are any good. I have an original Cwest bar now but just cracked it on a low driveway and i dont want to go and buy a brand new 1 again, way too expensive. Anyways can u give me a quote on a R34 Cwest front bar or veilside front bar OR would u know whether the one at carmate is any good. Thanks in advance, BTW they quoted me for $450.
  9. id say all prices in Skylines Australia are in Australian dollars.
  10. I went from a Series 2 R33 GTST to a non turbo R34 GT. I cant really comment too much on the performance side as the turbod car is faster but in general things like seats, dash, steering wheel and so forth the R34 is nicer. I bought mine from a dealer at the time only because at the time there werent many private sales around. Next time round i would definately buy 1 private or import 1 myself because i understand the import process a lot better from reading a lot of ppl posts on this forum. SAU rules. BTW there a few nice r34 for sale no need to buy of a dealer, just look in the for sale section.
  11. No problems ... congrats to buyer, keep us informed if it falls through.
  12. Sorry mate, thought they looked like photos from a prestige listing, i apologise. Seeing as i cant actually see the car i guess im just being extra cautious. Anything extra I should know about this car, has it been in any accidents etc. You can private message me if u want. Once again please excuse the many questions, its not everyday u see a 1999vvti TT for sale at a very good price. I guess im just looking for a catch.
  13. Im in the process of selling my r34GT(non turbo) so your car is of great interest. 1. How long till it arrives here (might it be possble to just give u a deposit or something). 2. Do u have the link to the orginal prestige listing where u got the pics from, just wanted to check if the auction report if u have it.
  14. Will you be supplying the car fully complied or will the buyer have to go through the process ?
  15. hey NA had exactly the same problem as u a while back. Ended up being 1 coil pack, its quite a common problem. Just check them 1 by 1.
  16. 25GTT: Sorry mate i noticed u said u went to pymble public school is this in Sydney ? Because i went to pymble public school here in Sydney and I had a teacher called MRS Booth.
  17. R34 GT Black with CWest kit and a few bolt ons. If i wanted to pick up chicks i would of got the turbo..... anyways had enough attention when i had a S2 r33 GTS-T 3 years ago, trust me u dont want the kind of attention it brings..... unless u are really young ...... or really horny ...... HEY im young ...... im also horny ..... am i missing something ?
  18. ecenshu: decode 'Art of War' dude u been missing out they sell the english version at bookshops now. No need to translate each word from chinese, u have been doing it the hard way ...... hahahahahaha
  19. My friend your outlook of life is just too complicated, not because u think too much but because u give a shyyt. True, each individual adds to the this energy u speak of, which is a theory, a fantasy if u like. Such energy does not exist in reality though its plainly evident that it can exist in ones imagination. I know u dont mean to say that such a tsunami exists rather u are trying to explain the consequences of society in a way that may make sense to something that can not really be put into words. I think understand the general flow of your argument, that there is a sense of repression (especially sexual) caused by the advent of society. This repression causes a discharge to feed this tsunami u speak of and society and more specifically the emascualtion of society feeds more and more energy into this tsunami. I guess its not the theory that I dont understand rather its the point u are trying to make, perhaps u are foretelling the doom of man (literaly). All in all i dont really think that society media and so forth is actually feminizing society much. I just think society is reaching a point where men and their traditional roles are not needed. Guys like me (i am actually quite macho and a male chauvenist) are just not the most efficient type of male, because our way of lifestyle does not contribute much to society. I understand that, do i give a shyyyyt, not really. The whole point is we are born into this world, raised by family, taught by society and media to act a certain way be a certain way. But one day u should realise that only u can make yourself happy, that only you have the power to take what u want. The war should never be about you and society, it will always be about you and yourself. Real power comes with knowing that u have a choice in life. Dude, by the way u talk u are certainly smart and I know u understand the complexities and shortcomings of society. What I dont understand is y u give a rats arse. Hehe ... y are we replying to a thread about picking up chicks in our skylines. Obviously it was never meant for indepths discussions.
  20. ecenshu : hehe menza i dont think so. This would be light toilet humour to them. Have u ever read 1 of their monthly newsletters. The one i read came with some sort of nahavo language code at the front and the whole newsletter had to be decoded before u could even read it. At the back of the newsletter it said if it took u longer than 3 hours to decode and read this u are normal. and then it said Ha Ha Dude it took me 3 days to get there.
  21. Bonzalite: Hmmm ..... i guess i understand your polarity theory ..... its really a real life explanation of of the yin - yang theory. I agree with you in saying that perhaps sexes to impinge upon one another's territory ....... in Australia maybe, in the US maybe and maybe in other countries too. However if we look at society as global whole then is their really a tsunami of energy or an imbalance in the 'polarity of nature'. Not in my opinion, not in any of the south american countries i grew up in, defiantely not in the asian country i was born in, and definately not in many european countries i travelled when i was in my early twenties. Countries like Australia dont have an assymetric information gap between sexes and it doesnt have 2000 years of culture like many of the other countries do. It is in essence a new country, not weighed down by prehistoric customs or misconceptions of grandeur. Thats what I like about it ...... its always G'Day mate. So is there really an imbalance in the polarity of nature, is there really an imbalance of the yin and yang. No ...... not in a global scale, not when when u think of how imbalanced it is in some other countries. If anything it is more balanced now i say. So yeah maybe Australian guys and other men in similiar western countries are becoming softer, more docile, more femenine. The reality is however that the stereotypical 'John Wayne' type of man is no longer necessary in modern civilisation. Our women dont need to be protected for fear they be raped, or conned, or taken away from us or mistreated in any number of ways. Why should we fear situations like this, we live in a free society where in most cases these notions are now alien. Perhaps it is true that men these days are confused as to what or how we should act. Its because we are the new frontier, an emerging species of new man, dude just enjoy it.
  22. Bonzelite: Reading your posts I wonder if your have ever read any of the books GOR series, i think by the author John Norman. Out of interest I read one of his books when i was in my late teens. Your way of thought mirrors his very closely, society emasculates (dont know if that is an actual word) women when in reality they want to be dominated by men. Its an interesting notion which made sense at the time. I guess even now, I still do feel that women prefer strong men or want to be dominated by them is how u put it. I guess on one side when it comes down to it humans are animals and as such animal instincts would see a man as dominant and a women submissive. However im no longer in my teens and my views on women have changed quite a lot . As I see it I no longer obsess with the notion of dominating women. Its no longer ummm important. The challenge is no longer finding a woman u can dominate (although younger guys will always enjoy this), the challenge is finding someone who u are willing to share power with. As i see it a relationship is always a struggle for power. Women who love u for your car are usually women u can quite easily dominate (i mean cmon all it takes is a nice car and they are yours). Trust me you will always get sick of girls like this, why u ask cause they are too easy. There is no struggle for power, its already yours so y stick around, youll enjoy it and dump it for a harder challenge. i dont rely on my car to pull cars, im sure i could, but i dont give a sh1t about girls that care. So Bonzelite, yeah I agree that society has made women more masculine but so what, to be honest with your i prefer a woman who is a challenge, who is stronger more opinionated and able to keep up with me mentally and physically. Dude i reckon society is better this way, it has a balance of power. If u disagree u should of watched the documentary on National Geographic about honour killings of women in Pakistan. There is a ***ed up culture.
  23. Well, im due for a service soon so i might try these guys out cause if been looking to take my car to a new mechanic. Ill post my experiences after I've tried them out.
  24. Hehe .... BUMP Please note that your price is set to 247000 not 24700. Or am i missing something.
  25. At the moment full exhaust 2.5, pod filter, extractors, safc II. Pretty much extent of things u can do to an N/A. Looking for the 3lt conversion soon, but dont know if ill go ahead with it(its expensive). A friend of mine already had it done and he is happy but cost him more than originally planned (mind u he is in NZ so prob more in Aust). SAFC has so far been the best mod, exhaust and pod were done b4 i got the car. The car ran this time without front bar, rear seat or passenger seat (taken out for a stereo install that i didnt proceed with so also no stereo or speakers at the time), no spare tyre, no jack or tools. So yeah, I honestly dont think that our cars are supposed to be fast but they can be made to be reasonably quick. HPI did their best time of 7.3 for 0-100 but to be honest with u I dont remember my 0-100 time. So sorry maybe u are right, I just estimated it to be around 7, maybe someone can tell me what a 0-100 time for a 14.9 1/4 mile could be. You have a four door right, just wondering have u weighed your car ? Id like to know just to compare it to mine.
