  1. I was wondering when you'd notice!
  2. AND Random fact#3654, At .0063 ATM and .0098 degrees C Water can be ice, liquid and vapour all at the same time as well as a delicious beverage.
  3. Certainly most run on 3 phase. I saw one go for $1500 once at a liquidation sale of a mechanic but I reckon you'll be hard pressed to find one within your budget.
  4. cheers Russ, even though the score's are close I'm still a long way off mixing it with the big boys. I'm just getting the score's from consistency.
  5. anybody else having trouble viewing results?
  6. Had a great time, thanks to all the organisers and helpers. My Highlights - Tim's R32 sitting on the limiter all day -That very smokey spin matt had in the corona - getting very loose over the hill on the mini wang, momentarily hitting the limiter -Perfect weather, couldn't have hoped for a better day -Oh and sneaking ahead of a certain now high powered Sileightly on the first pass of the long wang It was good to meet a few blokes and have a few rides in cars. Thanks again
  7. I beg to differ, Leigh and I made mates with the course car guys at Sandown cause they thought our matching flannies were funny. You never know frysy, I might just have a little present for you this weekend, just for being a nice guy.
  8. Cams handbook says it must be bolted (not even tech screwed) to the body. Probably just a good idea to do it properly once? Do a search, I'm sure people have published their simple solutions.
  9. I like the look of 3 and 4 too but quite like the look of the unpopular map 2. It's the only one that will make people turn fairly hard while trying to brake into the finishing gate. Should make for some interesting finishes. I reckon number 4 will be the coolest though.
  10. I don't think I get it either. Unless you strip the spline off the cam it will never fail totally. If you take it off and you lose the alignment key then it may be difficult to get back into the correct phase but otherwise I don't think it will ever fail.
  11. Race magazine has been working through the design process in building your own car as well as getting close to construction now. He is effectively publishing the design of an entire kit car for the price of the magazine. It will require a lot of fabrication etc so probably isn't what you are after but it will probably open your eyes a bit to the level of involvement depending on how much of it you decide to customize. I would love to get my hands on something like a lotus 7 frame and be able to design suspension and driveline, I reckon that would be great fun.
  12. is there any preferred accommodation place?
  13. Fuxed and payed I'm pumped! Just hope I don't blow the thing up this weekend at sandown! Hehe Ryan in the Slightly
  14. Haha love it. *officer pulls over gt3 porsche* " it's just a flesh wound!" *officer impounds porsche* "alright we'll call it a draw". I've seen cops on several occasions sitting on ferntree gully road with the radar, so many times that I'm very conscious of them every time I round the corner. By night they sit in the median strip and shoot their "LASER" at the corner so they'll have your speed before you see them. During the day they sit on the chesterfield farm side of the road and just poke out down the side of the roadworks.
  15. yeah nice work big bird. You probably shouldn't bother buying another fast car, your photography skills are clearly better than your driving!
  16. Wouldn't a spoken GTR moment mean some computer fixes the words as they came out of your mouth so that you don't really have know what you're talking about?
  17. You don't need serious brakes. I'm not sure how quick the track is but you probably won't be seeing much over 100 and you only do one pass at a time. The old morwell track wouldn't even get your brakes up to temp!
  18. To take the whole spud/tennis ball gun a bit further, we always found it fun to play tennis ball gun cricket. You need a slightly longer pitch but you'll work that out!
  19. faxed off entry this morning, the new track looks great. I can't wait
  20. I guess you could say we are masters debating?
  21. How were we to know the event was at risk of being cancelled? Up until last night the list said there were something like 16 entrants. Maybe informing the members of the situation may have mustered up the extra few needed?
  22. Once you do a bit more racing you'll start to realise how insignificant power can be. Probably the worst type of car to learn in is something like yours with lots of power but not much else. You aren't going to get much out of it if you can't rely on your brakes/tyres/suspension. You would probably find that you will cut quicker lap times with your current setup pulling some boost out of it and going back to 180-200rwkw. You won't cook the brakes as bad and will have smoother power delivery out of corners. While the big turbos can be frustrating when trying to pull out of corners you can learn to compensate by getting onto the gas earlier in the corner allowing for the spool up time. You'll work all this stuff out yourself soon enough though
  23. faark, I was about to fax a form off. Sorry for the late show of interest, I was expecting to be out of the country by then.
  24. I would recommend thai tables in bayswater. I know a few members here are fans of that place. Good authentic thai
  25. i'm interested in what you are planning on doing as well? The RB and VG30 ones are a plastic body and couldn't be opened up any more. The S13/14 etc ones with the alloy body could probably be opened up but because of the way they are ported and calibrated it would throw them out of whack meaning you would need a tune to get it to work.
