How To Remove Oil Pipe That Crosses Over Coil Packs
GTR-32U replied to Cam84's topic in General Maintenance
Are you referring to the pipes for crankcase ventilation ? Bit tricky if they havent been changed before as they are generally hard as a rock and brittle by now. More than likely you will end up destroying them getting it off.Nothing some new rubber hose cant repace -
the SC14 supercharger ( from the 1GGZE - I am assuming ) isnt a bad peice of gear, It will give you a decent power increase. However for what you want to do I dont see it being cost effective. By the time adaptors to mount and connect to manifold etc and everything is fabricated the Cost is going to run pretty high I would imagine.Factor in a new Computer, injectors, pump maybe ?.. Maybe modified 1GGZE mounts etc may make it a bit cheaper...But certainly not an easy cheap job...

Hmm Parramatta is kind of lame,Ok place to work but hardly an exciting Night venue. City is definately the place for you. Just be careful of all the pretentious Wannabe rich chicks at Ivy or the Establishment ( Opposite Wynyard station -George st ). I shit you not they will ask you either directly or indirectly what your career salary is.And Naturally expect to be shouted the most expensive drinks all night long. And then be Cocky enough to say sorry I dont go for guys who make less than $250K a year..Happened to Several friends of mine..

Yes Dorian Yates is my fave old school bodybuilder. I actually had the chance to see him train way back in 1998. I was in the UK for some time and thought that I would run over to Birmingham to see if I could find his Gym.Well found the Gym,Walked down the stairs and had the chance to see the man himself doing Bent Barbell rows in preparation for defending his Mr Olympia Title. His wife called me over and told me that Gym is shut while he is training and to come back in 30 mins to meet the Champ. So thats exactly what I did. Got an Autographed T shirt from him and had a decent workout in his Gym....Massive fella! and a Gentleman too

I know I had a car that stunk of Cigarette smell, one day I had to replace the hood lining as it was damaged.Once the old old was out and new was in Cigarette smell was gone for good.Makes a lot of sense as smoke rises and Roof linings are something that are never cleaned

What's A Good Strut Brace To Get From Japan?
GTR-32U replied to berzerker's topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
Cusco generally make some really good suspension parts and their strut braces are no exception. I had one on my R32 and it looked great all polished up -
Funnily enough in the years that I have been training I have had I would say 5 or 6 training buddys. But believe it or not the best ones were a little old man ( about 60ish yrs old ) and one of the girls who was into training a bit. The guys I trained with who were more hardcore I really didnt get the best results from,Too often they were either a know-it-all and insisted on doing their routine ( Which didnt work for me ) or they spotted too much and I lost the pump on my reps. the old man and the girl were happy to do my routine, Spot the way I liked to be spotted ( Almost nothing ) and it all worked better that way

How Would You Build A Street Sleeper?
GTR-32U replied to R33_Dude's topic in General Automotive Discussion
Howabout something totally different like an AW11 MR2 with a Turbo 20 valve? Mid engine could be fun Lots of traction should be available and it shouldnt be a difficult bolt in -

GTR-32U replied to R33_Dude's topic in General Automotive Discussion
A good fast conversion too Apparently Castlemain rod shop have fabricated a relocating bracket for the starter motor moving it so it doesnt foul on the steering arms. -
If it only leaks when it is on then it shouldnt be hard to track down. Once the car is on the pump is primed so its just a matter of following the fuel line from pump onwards...My guess is its a clamp thats loose or a splitting fuel hose....Fix it ASAP

Are Imports Such As Skyline/supra's Unreliable?
GTR-32U replied to Fat-magz's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
Yes I do remember reading that Magazine years ago about that comparison. However an even weirder one was a comparison ( Wheels or Motor- Not sure but I do still have the Mag somewhere ) between the VN Group A SS Commodore and the Subaru liberty wagon RS Guess that 215kw of twin throttle body V8 just wasnt good enough to match the Suby as it certainly layed waste to it -
How Would You Build A Street Sleeper?
GTR-32U replied to R33_Dude's topic in General Automotive Discussion
Volvo with an 8 has been done before many times...heavy car. Cressida ....Now your talking.1JZ is a nice cheap sleeper which will leave the HSV boys crying in shame -
I was thinking of buying one for a while and I even went and checked a nice twin turbo model out.But As soon as I lifted the bonnet I realised that it was going to be a total Fkn nightmare to do any work on this car I decided on the Skyline

GTR-32U replied to Fat-magz's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
Yes I agree with you on that one..But think back even further to how pathetic the 5litre VL was. 122 Kw at the engine ?...very weak considering there are 1.6 litre NA 4 cylinders making that kind of power Or Even worse VH Commodore 4.2 litre V8 = 100kw @4200 rpm Truly pathetic considering a corolla sx makes that power standard -
Always found Kero was really good at removing tar and other shit that carwashes struggle to get off. i always washed my cars once a month with kero and water. other weeks I used carwash

Coil packs ?

Bypass the boost controller ( Back to 100% stock ) and see if it still does it. Problem may be wastegate actuator
-
Well if it was me I would pull the whole engine out regardless. Who knows what Piston damage you may have sustained with valves crashing into piston tops
-
Have a go at changing some of the hoses yourself..Cheaper that way and good for a learning experience. But the ones that are at the back of the motor you will really have a lot of trouble with. specially the one that goes around the back of the head against the firewall side. Had to pull the starter motor out and put the car up on the hoist to get to it...really nasty that one

Hey mate for the record i think with a good launch you should be able to beat the Typhoon. I have a mate with the John Bowe mods and believe me they are only the very basic upgrades. 320 rwkw...? No chance in hell! 320kw at the Crankshaft. To build one to 320rwkw and still retain factory warranty would be a bit of a laugh.Nothing against the Typhoon as they are a great car capable of great power. But so too is a GTR if properly modded
-
i doubt these things would make that much of a difference. If you want a really cheap do it yourself mod that will get you some gain. Build yourself a cold air Ram intake.. Cold air is always easy power, Ram will give you a slight benefit at higher speed

Very Very Worried My Fresh Engine Is Not Right
GTR-32U replied to Italiazr1's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Modifying cars can be a heartbreaking thing at the best of times. Worse case scenario and the engine is cactus. Get an import engine..RB20's are really not that expensive
