Used to own a GTS4... That is if you are referring to the AWD 2 door version. Good car with lots of traction. However at 1490kg thats just too heavy for an RB20DET motor to lug around. Normal stop start driving they are really sluggish below 3500 rpm. If I had my time again I would have gotten the lighter GTST instead

Give him a run and see how well you go I say. Drop your rear tyre pressures slightly and practice a good spool up launch technique. You may surprise yourself.More so if he stuffs the take off and you nail a good jump on him. It wouldnt be the first time a car which was inferior on paper won the race-and it wont be the last. Give your car a bit of a service..clean out air filter, oil change, check plug gaps etc...all may sound stupid but it does help..Just a shame you cant up the boost just a little bit Heck on one of my old cars i had a bag of ice sitting on my Supercharger while I was waiting for the guy..helped too !

Why My Non-turbo R33 Lsd Wont Rip Up?
GTR-32U replied to Luckieee's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
its probably not making the sort of torque you need for really building up wheel speed. with a free wheel diff you can get one tyre spinning quite fast and generate decent smoke. But the fact you are packing an LSD ....You may only be just turning the back tyres and loading up the engine. -
Is Flat-sticking Bad For Your Car? (automatic)
GTR-32U replied to Luckieee's topic in General Automotive Discussion
On a positive note,Your driving style of flatsticking is probably good for the Auto trade. Keeps Gearbox and Engine reconditioning businesses going -
shame you didnt just have an EFI six as it would have been a lot easier to convert. Same engine mounts etc
-
Is the new crank 100 % necessary ? It may be salvageable

Deciding Whether Or Not To Build A Cheap Track Car
GTR-32U replied to R33_Dude's topic in Motorsport Discussion & Builds
mate plenty of options....but with the cost factor I still think overall an early VB-VL Commodore would be the go Heck if you dont want to do an LS1 conversion, there are other options of course. It aint hard or expensive to drop a VN V6 or maybe an RB20 or RB25 into it. VT twin piston calipers up front are pretty cheap these days, and if you can gut the car to -1100kgs it will pull up consistently hard with the right pads and fluid. Search around for an SV5000 Diff if you can find one as they had the ventilated rear rotors ( and a bit Shorter too - Bigger rims at the back) Parts would be quite accessible for you as most are locally fitted. ( I ran the VT calipers and SV 5000 rear end in my old VN- excellent upgrade for FK all $ )... Soemthing for you to consider at least -
Lucky you man...All the Turbo Cosworths that I have seen are fetching more than most R32 GTR's.. Have a look on Carsales...One in vic asking 49K for it

I Used My Space Saver Spare, Was It A Bid Idea?
GTR-32U replied to lilcrash's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
I highly doubt you would have done any damage for such a short distance. However if you were driving for weeks/months then I could see something going wrong. Best way to find out is when normal wheels are all back on. -
Thats pretty much spot on the money. Honestly if all you want is a car that will spin the wheels...sell the R34 and buy a VN V6 it will do the job just fine

Deciding Whether Or Not To Build A Cheap Track Car
GTR-32U replied to R33_Dude's topic in Motorsport Discussion & Builds
considered an early model Commodore with an LS1 conversion ? -
Cheap daily Ford Sierra XR4Ti ??? Last I seen these things were ridiculously expensive. Just out of curiosity how much are you expecting to pay for one of these ? As there isnt that many of them here in OZ
-
To be perfectly honest not well at all. If you dont use it you forget it. That and the fact that my parents seperated when I was 5. So any Cro that I had rapidly began to deteriorate.I can understand most conversations to some degree, But if I try and speak back.....it all just comes out WRONG!!!!
-
A fellow Croat huh ? Excellent Welcome

i ran for 2 yrs with a coke bottle lid in there and no sign of melting. Sure yours isnt making excessive heat ?
-
Also when you block off the BOV port you will also need to block off the hose connecting to it. Coke bottle lid is about as good as anything else
-
Correct. its an RB20 one, But just to satisfy curiosity i also got an R33 one as well. Identical dimensions
-
Ok I am holding one BOV in my hand right now A: centre to centre is 86 mm B: overall length is 104 mm C: width is 50 mm D: Blow off hole diameter is 30 mm - the hole itself is 25 but it tapers out to 30 mm E: Diameter of the bolt holes is exactly 10 mm Hope that helps

Yeah R134a is Absolute Shit !!! Sure it may work ok when you are on a motorway doing 100+ for a good 15 or more minutes. But around the city the car feels like 2 pistons were removed and I can blow cooler air out of my Butt. I have yet to see the car that has been converted to R134a that runs nice and cool in traffic...Need to learn more about this Hychill stuff however. The bullshit stories i hear from Auto electricians amazes me. Stuff like the car can explode if a cigarette is lit in the car, to it keeps your compressor working much more often and then stuffs it. That and it is supposedly dry and stuffs the compressor.. Why they just dont admit it " I have no F*cking idea how Hychill is "

Humming Noise When Driving Over 100kph
GTR-32U replied to PAV34's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Does the humming change at all if you are in a different gear ? Say 4th @ 100 as opposed to 5th @ 100 ?.... If there is no change regardless of gear used my guess would be the diff -
Gt Badges - What's The Difference
GTR-32U replied to Nimmo's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
Good question...My old R32 GTS4 came with the Blue badges. So I am not really sure either what the colour difference means -
Well for a starter i never EVER let a tyre shop do a wheel alignment for me. learnt my lesson the hard way. Took one XE Falcon to major brand name tyre shop for a set of 4, Wheel alignment as well. All feels good driving down the road until it seems the steering changes position whilst i am driving. got underneath to take a look. Morons stripped the bolt on one of the eccentric bolts so camber was changing constantly. Now only suspension shops with a reputation will ever touch my steering

a bit more info may be needed. How are the Subs boxed ? Sealed or ported ? Are they boxed at all or free air ? Different subs require different size enclosures ..
-
Yep I will vouch for that. My daily driver rego runs out on the 19th of Jan.. But we dont get any extra time to do the whole thing. I got my rego renewal the day before Christmas ( thanx santa-Fat C#nt ! ) and most places are shut until early jan. So now I gotta rush around like a maniac chasing down Pink slip etc....Pain in the Ass....And what the hell is it with the prices of Greenslips these days?Bastards just dont know how to go easy on the public
