Alfa Romeo/ferrari Feel To Car's Interior
GTR-32U replied to somos's topic in Exterior & Interior Styling
howabout retrimming the whole interior in AC milan colours ? or maybe a Juventus banner hanging from the mirror ? a few italian stickers on the windscreen may also help, Scuderia veloce or something like that.. -
well if ya get one make sure to get a big heat shield made up from a metal fabricator. If done properly it can look close to standard and hide a lot of goodies as well as insulating heat....well its a thought

Burning Smell On Higher Boost On Full Throttle
GTR-32U replied to R33Turbo's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
First I would give that engine a real good degrease as you will never find oil leaks with old oil stains. But be very careful spraying water in the coilpack region and also try not to spray degreaser onto the pulleys themselves.I had one seize on me from overzealous degreasing.Once you got that motor and suspect areas spotless then you can start to study the real nature of the problem -
have a real good look at it before you hand out cash. get underneath and look for oil leaks would be a good starting point.Around the front seal area and also toward the rear.Look for oil leaks around the turbo also.As this will mean replacing the line and it isnt an easy task.find out if belts have been changed particularly timing belt. Also find out when or if any or all the water hoses have been replaced.May not sound like anything important but with those water hoses...Once one goes, the rest will follow in a matter of weeks. Most of them you can replace yourself if you are handy, however the ones that go under the manifold and especially the one that goes around the back of the motor to the turbo is extremely difficult to get to without proper equipment.Other than those little matters ( Which will trouble any car of that age ) they are a trouble free little beast.Coil packs will eventually get weaker with age. They are very easy to replace however-but not cheap. As for general wear, study little details like the steering wheel, gear knob and boots and even peddle rubbers, as well as the drivers seat in the right hand side corner.I know I sound like a fuss pot but I speak from experience. These are the places where you can find the wear and tear.Any strange noises from the turbo like a shrieking sound particularly when rapid spool up is required eg 1st or 2nd gear..This is a turbo on the way out.It should be a nice whistle... whew thats my 2 cents worth Good luck You will not regret buying a skyline

Why Do So Many People Hate Our Cars
GTR-32U replied to WogsRus's topic in General Automotive Discussion
Ha love it !!!!! But seriously why should you have to do anything to your car if its legal.I would tell the old guy to p#ss off , You pay road tax and he doesnt.Matter of fact your tax probably pays for his Miserable existence ( Pension ), as well as his 14 schooners and cigarettes a day.Find out which house is his and drop a burnout at about 3am one sunday morning...thats gotta hurt... -
yeah keep an eye out for that rather nasty HWP officer on the Motorbike that frequents the M4. He loves to try and get you very early in the morning, transit lane and speeding is what he specialises in.I have seen him as early as 4.30 am.And he is extremely rude and arrogant...I think he goes up and down from about Penrith all the way to Parramatta approx.I had one run in with him and got into a nice verbal with him.Filed complaints against him also.Guys/Gals if you have rude officers always put complaints in.Specially if you got a passenger as a witness in the car...Complaints do affect their chances of recieving promotions etc...

How Much Can An Rb26 Rev Out To Safely?
GTR-32U replied to nsta's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Well whats the oil pump that you are running ? I am assuming its a standard one..I would not really be trying to rev it past 7500 definately not 8200 like you said.As that will more than likely be your first thing to go bang..then spun bearing shortly after...You want it to rev no problem..build it to live -
Price Of Cars Around The World
GTR-32U replied to ashsimmonds's topic in General Automotive Discussion
heres one for ya Some time ago I was in Hawaii and while there i had to have a bit of a look at the cars there So I noticed a Pontiac GTO which is pretty much the identical thing as our Monaro Now here CV8 Monaros were selling for what 50 or 60 grand ish....Over there brand new Pontiac GTO in dealer yard going for $34000 US...Amazing when you think heres a car thats originally built in Australia, exported to the US and still sells a hell of a lot cheaper than here..We get ripped off here for many things..acohol also...Bottle of Malibu here sells for about $30 ish...over there $17 and I am told its even cheaper away from all the tourist areas.... -
I would highly recommend that oil cooler...! I wouldnt even do a track day without one.Nice big one well ducted in good airflow. What many people fail to realise is that radiator coolant isnt the ONLY substance that cools the engine.A percentage of that heat gets passed on to oil and even some to transmission. You drop the oil temp and it has the effect of passing on the saving to the water.I would still have everything checked, like combustion leak into cooling system...- a dud headgasket or even hairline crack in block or head can cause this.I had one ( Crap heap ) VK commodore plague me with this.Had 4 core radiator fitted-still o/heating, Thermo fans permanently on-still o/heating, Had to switch heater on full bore several times to make it home.Ripped motor out had block and heads crack tested...Nothing.Rebuilt motor and guess what ? Even worse...!swapped motors sold car-good riddance!

I would highly recommend a Rhino. i have had these in two of my cars now.And they are better than anything I have used in the past. They dont cost the earth either.Remote has massive distance, You can walk down the street and arm it.! I even lost my car once in a westfield carpark, pressed the reomte a few times to hear the Beep Beep. Yes I heard the Beep Beep alright, But the car was parked 2 floors above me...! They got a few good features too....look into one of them...I dont think you will be disappointed

considered dropping in a 5ltr windsor from an EB ? You would be surprised how well they can go with some work on them.

I would highly recommend a Corolla seca..awesome little machine. My get around is an AE92 SX with the 100 kw motor...Fantastic on fuel, My best was 600 km from full to spout to red light on empty. And thats with a 40 litre tank. And as for performance, Well theres already one guy in the Blacktown area with a NA R34 that got his butt whipped by me....And I got 255,000 km on the clock..Handles good, reliable and plenty of room...Cant wait to do a 20 valve conversion...!!!
-
Brembo brakes, Slightly different ATTESSA settings....firmer suspension...etcdepends on what you want to do with the car.If circuit racing is your thing then I would go the V-spec...but if its just a streeter...Not worth the extra coin

man that looked dangerous...she shifting gears like a Granny...And how clumsy did her feet look on those pedals..sorry but I think she should get back behind the wheel of her Barina..The world is safer that way -
ever considered going for an external oil pump ? they are far superior to anything internal. Not cheap but a good insurance policy for your motor

Yeah I wish the yanks would just crawl back under the rock and leave the rest of the world alone. It sickens me to see so many young people trying to act like some rap ( loser ) star.Stuff the American identity..Whats so wrong with our own ? Too much influence from them
