  1. +1 to that. It is a wank.We aint powerlifters here, Stuffed if I am going to risk giving myself a major injury on camera
  2. VN commodores.....Must take the Gold medal for being the worlds worst handling car..Add a boozed up teenager behind the wheel and sooner or later somebody will die. Hopefully these stupid kids learn their lesson
  3. +1 to that...This is exactly the reason why I prefer to never discuss poundages lifted with people...Its a bit like listening to Fishing stories of the one that got away
  4. I like it...Styling is great and it looks shit hot !! If only they could release it in the "Panda" Colour scheme of old.
  5. Whats boost set at...? what other supporting mods etc ???
  6. Yeah the car seems that it will never die...Thats the part that I am so not used to. I may just start using slightly thicker engine oil and change it every 5000. It got a new water pump and timing belt a few months ago as well as new plugs...So I will just keep on driving it like recommended...Suspension will be my next project for it then.
  7. How are the brakes if you need to pull up quick ? Are the fronts working fine?.....Odd problem that could be very dangerous.....I wonder if its worth cleaning out the whole system and having master cylinder checked
  8. Just out of curiosity, How would an e30 blend or e85 blend work with a factory ECU that tends to run the car a little rich under full load ? My understanding of Alcohol type fuels is that they tend to work best when they are running rich ( So I am led to believe)..So I figure economy would suffer,But power ?
  9. Yeah I think I will just do the basic service to it and run it a while longer.. Awesome daily
  10. My mistake...I didnt see the AFR ratio thing on the left...Definately sounds like some kind of fuel issue. Highly doubt its ignition ( although I could be wrong )....Has anything been done to the car recently ..like prior to this problem occuring ?...Maybe a vacuum line got knocked loose
  11. Thats a tough one, Does it only do it under mild load ? Aftermarket ECU in the car ? maybe a tuning glitch...Are you sure its going lean in that split second and not rich ?
  12. I do believe you can buy some pretty decent video surveillance gear from most electronic stores. They hook up to a video or your pc and some have nightvision capabilities and are activated by movement..Maybe worthwhile looking into seeing if you can buy a locking wheelbrace as well. Maybe come up with a few inventions as well. I have heard of a set up where brake and clutch pedal lock into place and cannot be pressed.I have also seen one where a steel rod slides through the centre console stopping gearshift from moving out of gear....some ideas
  13. Fark that is an awesome effort..! I bet that 99% of guys who have been at the Gym for years wouldnt even move that amount of weight. And she squats deep too..She must be on some good "special" supplements
  14. Howabout going really psycho with it and fit a 12 volt washing machine motor.? It would spin those plastic tyres and lay some crazy drift action with a smiling toddler behind the wheel
  15. Ok so my daily Mon - Fri car is a 91 Corolla SX with the standard 100 kw motor. Problem is that the car now has 310,000 kms on it and I am planning a fresh up for it....So I am just after advice on what would be my best option dollar wise. I like this Car as a daily and I dont want to just go out and buy another cheap runabout as anything decent is going to cost money and I dont want to throw away money on a car that I am going to do 500 km's a week in Option 1 : This is at the moment the option I am most likely to go with, And that is purchasing a last series 20 valve blacktop motor for it....However at $1800 for complete engine ,harness and ECU it really isnt a cheap swap. Most likely the motor will have no less than 100,000 km on it already. But it does hold the advantage in that I need this car to get to work in and I cannot have my car off road for extended periods. So it could be a drive in , drive out weekend conversion Option 2 : Would be to pull out the existing 100kw smallport and have it fully rebuilt and maybe up compression from 10:1 to a little more say 11:1..Other than that fit lighter conrods and flywheel to greatly improve response and low end power. However getting a motor built does take time and it most likely wont put out the sort of power the 20 valve would. But on the plus side this is going to be a completely fresh engine. Bear in mind I dont want to spend a fortune on this car as it is my daily runabout.I am not interested in crazy turbo conversions as I am saving my cash for an R32 GTR which Hopefully I may get late next year...But at the same time I am also very slowly restoring this car bit by bit to a newish condition. So you the technically minded people please offer suggestions
  16. Mate save your 15K until you are off your P's ( I know it sounds painful ) and then go splurge on an R33 GTST
  17. I see that it could be a tactical gamble to jumpstart lagging carsales. With the exception of the Nissan GTR People who buy performance cars really havent had much much to get excited about in Japan of late..Not many can afford a GTR but still want a slick turbo coupe...So bring back our 200sx and Hopefully Toyota can see the light and bring back the Sprinter
  18. +3
  19. Yes I have done this conversion.I made sure when I bought the guage set that I got the cradle as well. After that a mate who is an auto electrician began wiring them up which is a snack for him to do. The only one I didnt end up doing was the oil temp guage as I believe a different sender unit on the side of the block may have been required. But certainly not a major job
  20. i wonder if its one of these electronic boxes where computer selects the gears.. I used to drive a Merc sprinter with the tiptronic box and often they would jam...Gear stick doesnt actually connect to anything mechanical
  21. I had a failure because an idler pulley seized and then died....
  22. Glad to hear the attempted theft was botched. I was the guy who you were talking to when Malcolm was installing the sticker on your front windscreen. I have to admit you have a pretty impressive list of mechanical upgrades to this car.....Loved the Coffin ( Plenum ) and what you did with the glovebox... Cheers Johnny
  23. Cheers Malcolm....It was great to finally put a face to car......I have to admit your car was jaw dropping. It really does look as if it just drove off the showroom floor only minutes before the show. I took a look inside and couldnt even find a speck of dust. I remember you offering me to have a sit inside, However I didnt want it to be a case of " Monkey see , monkey do " In other words I figured if people seen me park my hefty behind in the car they may figure its ok for them to do the same themselves....So maybe another time regarding that... I also quite liked the Blue GTR LM , However I had to be content with a look around the outside as it was always closed with windows up whenever I went past...Immaculate as well however All in all a TOP show and cannot wait for the next one
  24. That is lightening fast....excellent job !!!
