  1. Awesome day, And some really awesome cars . This is a great venue for such an event. Great to get out of the burning sun and appreciate some peoples hard work and Big cash spent on excellent skylines. People I found were pretty social and approachable and very happy to discuss modifications etc.
  2. Hey Malcolm .....I am well...!! just out of luck Sunday is my rostered off weekend. Seeing as I only live minutes away I will definately make the show.Not sure what time I will arrive as I have never been to an SAU event...But I will turn up to drool over Skylines - ( Deeply regrets selling last Skyline )
  3. Why not just record the sound of a tough turbo car coming hard onto boost and then play it loud through your car stereo ?
  4. Personally I love the car. To me it represents what owning a special build vehicle is all about. Maintained in totally immaculate condition , Staying true to factory appearance.

  6. Considered an XR6 Turbo ? Absolute beast with an exhaust, upgraded IC and a flash tune. If I was confined to having a 4 door family car ( Being an ex holden fan ) That would be the car I would be choosing
  7. Possibly stem seals...... After a decent drive try pulling over and leaving car to idle for a couple minutes. Then while watching in the rear view give it a swift rev up to say 3000 rpm and off. Will it give a puff of white smoke on revs declining ?
  8. I know the mechanic who changed mine told me he had to put the car up on a hoist and pull the starter motor out to get to it. Still a Bastard of a job...more so if you have large hands
  9. For that price I would be having a go at it myself. From memory there is 2 hoses that run under the manifold. If its the one that goes round the back of the head....DONT have a go at it.Its a really tough one. But the other one that doesnt go around the head...Its tough as well but Do-able . The connection closest to the radiator isnt too bad, Its just the other side one that is the Biatch... If you are going to pay a mechanic to replace these, my advice is to get ALL the hoses done in one hit. Funny thing about hoses is that as soon as one goes, the rest follow very soon after Good luck !!

  12. Sounds a lot like your Turbos are on the way out. I had one start doing that to me. Funnily enough I was sitting at a set of lights when a Rex pulled up next to me. Then the big cloud of white smoke wafts past. First thought was man this Rex's turbo is stuffed.A quick look in the rear view mirror made me realise that Rex's turbo was fine - mine was stuffed
  13. Odo readings and actual Km's may not be the same. But for general wear there are a few things you should look at that will give you a much better overall condition of the car. Check Dash vinyl isnt bubbling excessively Steering wheel isnt excessively worn Rubbers on Brake and clutch pedals arent badly worn some tend to rust around the rear quarters and rear windscreen Also check the condtion of the drivers seat. I tend to assume when I see a Skyline that has both Aftermarket steering wheel and drivers seat- that this car would be a higher mileage unit.

I would go as far as to say that NSW roads are some of the worst in the developed world.I have driven on roads in 3rd world countries that are better than here.They get resurfaced nowhere near as often as they should and when they do they just dont seem to last long before Potholes take over.Lousy to think that you can spend big dollars on lightweight rims and have good ole Sydney Potholes totally stuff your rims in no time.

  17. Very much what I calculate it being as well.Now as to wether its a 2 stroke or 4 stroke...? It definately isnt a 4 stroke , Its a lot closer to being a 2 stroke but isnt quite there yet either.....Had it only have had 2 sides to the rotor I would then be calling it a 2 stroke but this isnt the case..With the Rotor being Triangular and having a 3rd face it throws the whole lot out...Its almost like a 1 and a 3rd stroke engine.....will keep an eye on this thread...interesting
  18. what is this leak ? It isnt leaking oil by what I gather rather your boost is dropping off. what boost controller are you running ? What turbo is on it ?

  21. Anyone with half an eye for GTR's will see right through your attempt to copy one. And Yes they do have wider front and rear guards......Good luck trying to swap them over..

You gotta give us a bit more info than you have to be able to help you...what turbo is on it,other mods etc....450 at the rear wheels ? are you building a racecar or a streeter ? 450 at the rears would be a bit overkill on the street ( a lot overkill actually )...Try and make a list of mods as a stock R33 shouldnt be laggy
  23. I think when people mention fuel consumption and noise they immediately think of the old school rotors. The RX3's with the 13B Bridgeport and 4 barrel Carbs.( Brap--Brap--Brap--Brap )...Yes these things were a fuel guzzling nightmare and noisy as all hell to boot.Add the mandatory warm up and your neighbours would wish death onto you every morning. However technology has done a lot with the rotor.Keep the ports mild as possible and rely on good ole Boost and they dont have to be as nasty and loud. Change oil very regularly,let it warm up correctly and they are very reliable. An engine builder I used to know once told me he could build a 500 hp Rotary cheaper and more reliable than a 500 hp 351 clevo....
