Well, a couple of weeks ago i got cut off through an intersection and managed to do enough damage to the front end of my car to make it an economical write-off. Reading through their brochure they do not offer hire cars, luckily i have been able to get myself to work and back otherwise this would be a worse situation than it is.
I paid $18,000 for the car almost a year ago, and also had extras insured : 18" rims and intercooler. Trouble is, on the phone they said they will give me a $16,500 payout in the mail (hopefully this week) until they can be sure its his fault, then pay me another $2,000 later in a seperate cheque (probably months away). But they didnt mention anything about the rims that also got chipped, and kept by them (worth atleast $1000, and insured for $1000, since i paid $1400) and the intercooler that was flat and also the piping is flat.
Anyone have an idea how to tackle this without ringing them up angry and them pushing my case aside and leaving it longer? Being without a car sucks, but not as much as a nice car and the fact they just want to pay me the current market value. Being under 25 sucks, only one choice of insurer. Doesnt matter that i have/ had until now a flawless driving record since '04.
