Well... i may have been the only Super Fun Happy Slider out there giving it a go but regardless there was always a lot of support from people not only from Melbourne but from interstate drifters as well. All i have to say after this weekend is that if you are into drift and you havent given it a go and want to get into it. Get out there to the practice nights and give it a go. It had to have been the best time i have ever had in a car with support from people in Skylines, Sprinters, Silvias, 180s and even commonwhores and Mazda 929s. Everyone in the pits was more than helpful in lending a hand and i have to personally thank Mick from EXMods for all his help and Dr Drift and Jarius for all the driving and handling tips which i started to get the hand of towards the end of the last practice session on the sunday. As some may have already read in the short posts i ended up teaming up with NZD1 driver Jarius Wharerau to enter the comp as i was satisfied and happy with what i had achieved in the practice rounds and wanted to get some footage of my car being driven hard by someone i know can drive and drive bloody well. Some people might have seen Jai in action before in a few DVDs etc. Jai has to be one of the most down to earth and nicest guys ive ever met. He was more than happy to take my pig out for a solid thrashing (hahaha man that just sounds wrong) in my place, the only issue was the amount of tyres i had. Knowing i wouldnt go through more than one set i didnt bring any more than 4 wheels with tyres on em but knowing what Jarius can do this was going to be an issue. Thanks to Gareth from J-Spec for the money for tyres even tho we didnt need em in the end which was just wrong!!!! Also both Gareth and Craig and Munkeh too i spose for the transport of the car to and from Calder for the event. yeah but from what i was told in breifing the onevia should have been imitating him but instead went in a lot hotter cause he wasnt doing that last corner in one motion... so technically he caused that clash himself... but none the less he was damn good (the guy in the onevia) and yeah hes a top bloke Jairus... got a long real well. he gave me card to keep in touch... im going to check the D1NZ schedule for 2005 and try and head back for a round.

and the onevia got so close cause he was fishtailing the entry to the last corner that HE almost hit my car... bah... doesnt matter... he wants to start competing here.... with my car he said hes going to talk to the sponsors back home about it and buy my car and leave it here in aus so he can fly over for the events. i met him saturday in the pits after i did a few prac laps and he came over and had a talk about the car cause he had one in NZ that he drifted... we spoke for a while about the comp and NZ and then he saw me on sunday and came said hi and we chatted a bit more.... i finished in the prac session and asked if he wanted to go out in my place and actually do the comp... he was eager to get out there for the whole weekend so i handed him the keys he didnt get any prac.... only the 3 laps u get to get into the top 16 lol... on his third lap he finally got it right and drifted the last section in 1 just like the D1 jap drivers

it was bs... at the driver briefing we were told that in the tandems the chase car should follow exactly what the lead car does to win... if the lead car does something to make the other car avoid hitting him then he gets a better mark... that 3rd round jairus led and not one time did the onevia follow his line... he didnt enter anywhere near as early into the corners so of course he was able to get closer... but he didnt get as good an angle through the corners... and jairus started drifting from behind the bridge through the last corner in one motion... of course thats going to be slightly slower than fishtailing but fishtailing is piss easy compared to one full motion which they said scored higher.

i dont have enough webspace for high quality... nah just him... he was doing some filming for something... cant remember what... he was robbed of a higher placing if u ask me... he was far better than the qlder in the onevia
