hey delta force..let me get this rit.. u want around 340hp correct? but u dont wana upgrade the ecu? the most common problem wit rb25 is the ecus.. becoz of r&rs..we lose out on alot. esp. mid-range... but u got a chiped ecu dont u?? dont no how thats gona work wit an upgraded turbo.. anyways..i sent my exhaust housing to hypergear hiflow.. they built me a ATR28 with a G2 core rated to i believe 430hp..i think?? anyways its bein on now for about 3 weeks..still running it in and its going very well there was abit of mod. to get it to fit..but after that...its all sweet!! and ive got stock ecu, afm & injectors.. and is hold 14psi fine!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! without hitting r&r's and i havent max airflow either!!!!! well thats what my afc neo is saying... but yeah..2 tuners here said it wouldnt run..or i wouldnt be able to boost past 7psi... they wer so full of crap...lol just tryin to sell me one of there turbos..plus supporting parts... etc... also i believe u cant run a z32 on stock ecu anyways...not sure if u can on a chip thou,??

hey does any1 known wer to get a bellmouth dump pipe.. the one i can only find is the bellmouth type that goes straight back to the cat... not to the front pipe..
-
hey, ive had my NEW hypergear hiflowed turbo on my r33 for 4days.. just sent my stock rear exhaust housing (snail) to the east... they hypergear fitted a ATR28 G2 core and new front compressor housing(polished!! ) .. and a 14psi actuator.. all for $925 including shipping... done bout 200ish k's... and its goning well... still running it in...so yeah.. but seem alot better than stock.. and it boosts alot better too, from what boost levels ive hit.... i would recommend this to any r33 driver that requires a new turbo... evan if car is fairly stock...e.g: ecu/afm/injectors... theres a few modifications u gotta do to make it fit.. like the oil feed line...and the inlet & outlet on the compressor housing.. but other than that its worth the upgrade...

what bolt is that on the left? is that the one uz fitted to Geraus car?? whats the required inside diameter of the banjo bolt or fittings?? coz my speedflow fitting are the same size internal diameter as the one on the RIGHT(stock).. but without the restriction in the bolt...
-
-
i found out coz it bush/sleeve bearing turbo core.. u cant use the stock lines or banjo bolts.. it requires more oil than bb turbos... u got get a new braided line with new fittings dash 4 is size u need.. i got mine made up 2day for 80bucks with speedflow fittings.. which was done by GoGear in Perth... no im just waiting on the turbo
-
so do require new oil lines or larger internal banjo bolts for bush bearing turbos?? since ive got one coming from hypergear too..lol and i was planing on using the stock lines..but new gaskets..
-
well, they said they can fit a 7psi actuator to it.. so i think im gona get that.. do u guys know what and how much boost i could run with the new turbo? anyone else running a hypergear turbo on 33 with stock ecu and afm???
-
hey guys, ive sent my turbine housing(not the core) to hypergear today.. ive bein talking to Stao there via email..since i live in perth anyways..im getting my r33 series turbo high-flowed by them,, i currently have fmic, pod, hks cat-back exhaust, walbro fuel pump, spitfire coilpack, greddy rs bov, apexi neo afc. anyways, im just gona bolt this high-flow turbo straight onto my car.. its getting fitted with a ATR28G3 450hp core.. all for $800 anyways my question to u guys is... will i be able to drive/run my car since i dont have a aftermarket ecu, bigger injectors or a z32 afm.. but ive bein told by hypergear i can.. but 2 workshops here in perth say i wouldnt be able to drive or get my car running... can some confrim this??

another thing..if its high-flow.. will i be able to run it on my car??? since ive still got standard afm and ecu... they told me i just gota much sure i run 98 ron fuel and slightly advance the timing... and they claim around 220rwkws...with basic mods..lik fmic..exhuast etc... -

well..last nit.. had my too mechanic mates have a look.. found out it was the compressor side bearing..was gone.. sounded like it was spooling but real loud for a stock turbo... anyways..so that turbo is coming off... and im getting it high-flowed by hypergear -
well i got if off... i got another topic on this,..a separate topic on..coz the main problem was the turbo was whining... and it still is.. anyways.. i got new gaskets today..so im trying that,,, but this turbo i fitted..a series 1 r33 turbo... had a snap stud in the corner..lol and ther person has tried to drill it out twice..but couldn't get it out.. its fitted to the car already.. a mate from work recons i should have drill it out completely and put a bolt and nut on it instead of just leaving it.. plus put the new gasket on with exhuast(copper colour type) sealant..thats sensor safe.. i also got told to do this by a turbo place MQT in perth..just on the bell-mouth/dump side only... is there a easier way to get those 2 bottom nuts on the dump/turbo wen the turbo is on the car??? i had to remove the 3 dump/front pipe bolts and coz i couldn't get to the 2 nuts wen i took my turbo the first time...

well, i got new turbo and dump pipe gaskets today..i just got gen. nissan ones..pretty cheap so yeah.. techs from work reckon its a gasket leak..but they wana have a look... so i'll post up wat they reckon... has anyone else had a similar whining sound from the turbo area? wat would a gasket leak sound like anyways? would it sound like wat ive described?? -

bumble_bee replied to bumble_bee's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
doesnt sound like intercollering piping... its definatly coming from the turbo area/intake sideof the engine.. i took off my pod filter..and put my ear next to it and u could hear it louder,,, mit b the stock flex-rubber pipe from afm to compressor... could have a split in it... -

bumble_bee replied to bumble_bee's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
ok, i had another look.. its definatly from the turbo again.. how could i get the same sound from another turbo? i thought that my line was blocked...so i took off the oil feed bolt on the turbo(17mm) and ckecked to see if oil was going to the turbo.. looks lik it was getting oil..i evan marked the bolt so the hole was facing the line..so that oil would flow through... should oil pore out/piss out wen taking this bol off?? coz it doesnt.. but yeah...i took it round the block...which is like 500m.. sound is still there..and i notice burning oil/smoke coming from the back of the turbo...just wen i got back...seems to drive fine..but sound is still there... i believe it was the oil/crap on the back off the turbo..wer the exhaust wheel and wastegate flap was.. i believe it was burning all that residue/crap off.. does that sound rit??? i also have one bolt thats not in place..becoz the guy who took it off snap the bolt..and try to drill out but f%c#ked it..so i to leave it not bolt in the op corner.....im using my old manifold/turbo and dump seals aswel... the guy said the turbo was his for about 2weeks...so could it be just running in?? -

oh ok..but was ANYONES SOUND during acceleration or wen back off the throttle?? could U hear it whining down aswel...???plus theres no whining on idle.... im thinking its an idler pulley... there are 2 idler pulleys on a rb25det..is that correct?? but im taking the top timing cover off today..so ill have a look... and from wat i can see..theres no leaks on the intercoolering piping.. hey "lowRB" wat did ur whining sound like?? wat is during idle or during acceleration/de-acceleration? could b air-con pulley..sound from that side of the engine... mit take that belt off..and see if she does it...is that u found out it was the air-con pulley?? -
well...its bein ova a year...and ive done about 114,000ks now.. and ive got a weird whinning sound again..lol at first i tht it was my turbo...coz it was making it during acceleraion and wen back off the throttle.. u can hear it whining down... i was like crap!! anyways..so i took my old turbo off...notice i had had about 2mm shaft-play and wen spining my compressor wheel..i could hear some bearing sound... so i got a second hand series1 turbo,, looked good with about 1mm shaft play and no bearing noise/sound... so i fitted this to car..no leaks or anything.. anyways..the first time i went to start my car..i could still hear the whining sound wen accelerating and wen backing off u can here it whining down... so now my think it could be a pulley..like an idler pulley...?? coz i didnt change them wen getting my timing belt... oil pressure and water temp looks fine...but im reading the stock gauges....and there not that accurate... so i dont think its the oil pump or water pump.. but wat are their signs of failure??? im taking off my top timing cover today... so i should know soon if it is and idler pulley.. anyone had a similar problem to this??

ok..well ive fitted a series1 turbo on my car yesterday... and it had like 1mm shaft-play and NO bearing sound wen i spun the wheel.. so this turbo got fitted... i started the car but still had the whinning sound... so anyways..one of mates said try a different wastegate actuator.. still no good as sound was still there.. ive even checked the compressor wheel again...just make sure there isnt dmage to the wheel or bearing sounds... but looked and sounded perfect!! so its no that again..lol but what im thinking now..it could b water-pump..or some idler pulley??? im pulling the front cover off 2day.. neva takin if off before...or either a timing belt... but my timing belt was done lik 16,000 k's ago... but i didnt change the water pump or either idler pulleys... so i'll check here next... could normal drive-belts whine, as the way ive described my first post? -

or could this sound be a gasket leak from either manifold-to-turbo or turbo-to-dump? -
Whinning Noise From Turbo
bumble_bee replied to FLIBYUGSR12psi's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
i have the same problem...but exhaust wheel/s are fine.. ive just put on my second turbo.... but still ot the turbo whinning problem... anymore ideas? turbo bearings..from oil shortage..like from a blockage in the oil feed lines mayb? wastegate actuator not opening??? anymore ideas??? -

bumble_bee replied to bumble_bee's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
well, i cant exactly pin-poin the sound..sounds like it coming from the turbo, then it moves up or out the afm then pod.. but then i thought it was power-steering pump..or air-con pump..well there pulleys.. but yeah..cant exactly find wer its coming from...lol but can the wastegate actuator cause this fault? not opening, then causing turbo to whine?? -

hey, well on thursday my turbo decide to make some very unusally howling sounds.. it makes it wen acclerating and wen decelerating aswel.. anywyas i wasnt that far from home.. so anyways.. i took the turbo off..notice i had about 2mm shaft play..not that much..and both comp. and exhuast wheel was fine...but spun the wheel and notice some very loud bearing noise from spinning it..so i just thought my turbo bearing was gone... so anyways i got a s/h turbo off a series1 r33.. but i put my actuator on.. this turbo had about a 1mm of shaft play and had NO bearing noise sound wen being spun.. and i used his oil feed line..instead of mine..just incase i had a blockage in the line... and i put on oil feed/return lines back on..and water feed and return lines back on.. wit no leaks... i got just water inside..since im flushing the old coolant out aswel.. anyways...after the secnd-hand turbo was just fitted prefectly.. all hoses and bolts on tight and seemed all good... i turned the car on.. but notice a very faint sound or whinning/howling sound again... and yes...its the same sound as before..but not as loud... but i assume it would get louder if i hit boost or got high in the revs... i just dont wana risk it... any ideas??? and i do got a full level of oil and water in the rad. a mate is tell me to change the wastegate..to the one that came with the turbo.. could this be the problem??
