Funny how the satistics show Skyline drivers and the in the minority when it come to purcuits. Being the usual suspect is a young male who is unemployed, drunk, unlicenced with previous driving infringements (you had to look for the part stating how in ACT there is a list of people who usually dont stop) and with an unregisted vechile. Now being unemployed removed most if not all of us as well all know how much it cost to maintain our babies compared to buying a $500 laser and giving it a thrash. The only occasion I can imagine when a skyline is involved in a purcuit is either its stolen or is then it is one of the 2 new r35 GTR that the NSW government have brought for highway purcuit vechiles. Something about the V8s not cutting it when it comes to handling and low end acceleration and how halfway through the chase they have to stop to get fuel....

I hear Newgel are ok, only because they managed to mount a Evo 3 front bar onto a honda civic (prev. owners decision). You can try J racing aswell, as they even make their own body kits and from what ive seem they look like, so modding a standard shouldnt be a problem for them.

I havent driven my GTR long enough to get pulled up that much, but im expecting to.

Yes we have a 'hoon's law' in place. The police impound lot is near Belconnen markets across from Shell, you can tell from all the cars with car covers on it. From what I remember, if you are caught hooning, you will have your car impounded for 6 months and at the end of that you will have it given back, and will have to pay for the costs of storage which is like $5.00 a day and for 182 days that comes to above $900. Second offence is confiscation of the car, which is then auctioned in the police auctions. Only difference is the definition of 'Hooning' in Canberra and whether the police consider things like burnouts and drag racing 'hooning'. If I have any info wrong here correct me, as this may be outdated. I unfortunatly find myself asking 'Where are cops when you need them?' when I have a car charge up to me atleast 40 kmph faster then me tailgate for a km or two (and i mean anycloser and we are connected) with their highbeams on and then overtakes crossing unbroken lines and then trashes in back a gear and shortly disappears. As far as im conserned if 'hoon laws' means the police started going after the real idiots who endanger lives on the road and have no considerations for anyone else thats ok, but if it means police targetting cars which 'look' like they are hoons or impounding a car just because it looked like it was hooning, I disagree. I'm quite sure a few SAU ACT members have a story to tell about circumstance where they feel they have been singled out because if the car they drive, or when dealing with over zealous police officers. I personally haven't had an experience where police have treated me as a hoon because of the car i drive, but rather two time when they have treated me like a car enthusist who takes pride in my car.

I saw you put a little flyer up in my window at my work at Shell in Epic I'll try to keep it up there as long as I can, but Stingy coles' policy is nothing which makes them look like they care. I noticed something that might help people spot it. I don't know if many people have it but this R33 has both bonnet badge and grill badge on it. First time ive seen one with both but then again maybe i wasnt paying that much attention the past 20 times ive seen a R33. I'm keeping an eye out for it and making plans if it decided to try to get fuel.

Back to news about summernats. Apparently the deal with Chic and whoever is paying him to move to Sydney has fallen though. Something about wanting $12million rather then $5 million, but taken into account that he would have to draw up the contract, then find people to do all the stores, security and bits and pieces around the nats, then having to go though the licencing and permits, insurance, OH&S, etc etc etc compared to all that already being in place in Canberra.

Yeah sometimes I think the cyclists on the road try to ride as close to the edge of the bike lanes on purpose. I personally give them every convience if they are in the bike lane, but if they are on the road, I expect them to tend right on the left hand side so car can easily pull them over. I've also heard how if there is a large group of cyclists on the road they either have to ride is a single collumn or inform the proper authorities. BUT!!! I must cut the line when it comes to the flying sardeen cans....EXCELS!!!! They probably weight about...500kg, being most of their tax written off bits are just that...but every one i see seems to have something to prove. Tailgating, overtaking in roundabouts, overtaking at unbroken lines, speeding, thrashing, and even overtaking me at a roundabout while it was raining at such a speed their back came into my lane. Wait..didnt someone on this forum make vinyl sticker?? Maybe a crossed out excel for my rear window

I didn't know whether to put this into a new topic or put it into here, so i decided to put it here as its about GIVING SKYLINES A BAD NAME!!! Today my girlfriend was riding on her scooter in Gungahlin down Gundaroo Drive (from Servo to roundabouts near Palmerston). Much to her delight, most of her trip she was being tailgated by a white r34 which appeared to have a aluminium wing on the back. Not only was he just being the usual prick who tailgates bumper to bumper, but he was also honking his horn, even though she was doing the speed limit. When Gundaroo drive went into two lanes (near Gungahlin Lakes intersection) did he go into the other lane?? NO he kept following her tailgating and honking his horn, even though he had a good 500m to overtake her with little traffic around. The best thing is she was heading to another friends house and it so happened this driver lived only down the road to where she was heading (Candlebark cresent). If this person is on this forum (which I doubt) PULL YOUR HEAD IN!! Did they ever think what if she, being distressed by the idiot on her tailgate honking his horn, dropped her scooter?? They would have gone right over her... I know where this guy lives and although I own a skyline I have no issues with having a go at someone who also owns a skyline IF THEY ARE ACTING LIKE A DEGENERATE!! My girlfriends father works in a position where he a very regular contact with the federal police...which is also mainly the road and traffic division. She has told him about what happened and if this person does it again he will be reported. She doesnt care if she sees a skyline hooning past her at 200kmph, but when they go out of their way to endanger her life she isnt impressed. If you can't stop acting like you think you are better then everyone else, sell your car and buy a bus pass because the world dont want ya!

Thankyou to everyone for the input, whether it was in an objective or constructive manner. It is better to hear both sides of the fence rather then stick to one as it will allow me to be better prepare if anything does occur NP There is a very likely chance I probably will have to, but atleast I will have peace of mind

Where to get Skyline Serviced
Helious replied to r33skylinegtst's topic in Australian Capital Territory
Does anyone know exactly where Eddie who used to work at intergra motorsport has moved to. I'm hearing autotech but im also hearing some place in hume and autotech is in tuggers. If you have a car that doesnt require that much special attention and you are in Gungahlin then Paul White are great, taken both my GTR there and my brother Civic and never had a problem and always finished on time and on budget if not less, but he will tell you whether or not he can do something rather then try and fail. I also would NOT recommend the window cleaners at my work, as i see people using them to clean their wheels and everything else. -
I wont need any legal action currently at the smash repairer in question has agreed to resolve all the issues with my car, with the exception to the tyres, demister and fuel sender (as it was probably damaged before i got it, but it still works better then my last one). I very much doubt I will be taking legal action on anything, but if i did it would only be for the tyres and the tyres only. I know that it will be impossible to pin blame for the suspension damage on anyone. I have taken it to someone and they said the same as me, that either it had preveous damage or due to the tension from a misalignment it snapped, but it would be impossible to determine which. Personally I've given up of the suspension, and im just getting it fixed. It also seems that everyone i ask thinks my chances of getting replacement tyres are next to nothing. All i know is that i paid for an alignment that wasnt done, and because of how much they were out, the tyres have worn down. If they try to blame the damage i would ask they to explain why the preveous tyres i had on the front have the same wear pattern as the ones i currently have. If the wear was caused by the damage, that means it was on the car when they changed the tyres which would have been picked up if they did the alignment, and if the wear wasnt caused by the damage then it is because the wheels are out of alignment. That is probably hard to follow, but basically saying the state of my suspension (shocks, tie rods, control arms etc) were in the same condition after i got my tyres changed then it was when i drove in the get them changed. But as much as it would seem to be more of a 'opps we stuffed up sorry' situation i very much doubt ill get any compensation what so ever, so im probably going to have to fork out another $500 for 2 new tyres for only a month of tyre wear. I find it funny how a pizza shops have a higher customer code then some of these places...

Three years in Sydney or in Canberra still...all i know is that 5 mil is hard to say no to.

I guess I didnt hide it that well >< But thankyou Shell for not locking the thread, as i know others have been locked for less. But apparently whats going on with me and my car has caught the attention of whoever is in charge of consumer affairs and not the word has spread to fullers body works...and i havent even called them yet. I'm going tomorrow to state my case with the people who did the repair work preveous to when i took it to get my tyres changed. I have it a good look over and found lots of defects...such as my rear seatbelts not being attached or my air pods not being secured...even though it is a apexi adaptor kit which HAD the brackets to hold them in place... But I'm going to give them the benifit of the doubt that it was a lazy employee and that they are unaware of how...undriveable my car is. LOL the fuel gauge says half and the light has come on!! I'm going to let them discover that one on their own!! Also if I'm being a wanker please tell me ><

Just heard from some guy at my work that the new venue for summernats might be eastern creek!! From what I know the lease hasnt been renewed for epic yet, so it is looking by all the rumours going around that this years nats might have been the last.

Brand New Carbon Fibre Bonnet For Sale
Helious replied to aus spec 32's topic in Australian Capital Territory
From what i remember when i was originally getting my car rego'd there is a few points they defect it for. First is whether it is secure and wont fly up while you are going 110 on a highway, lose control and plow into the nearest bus full of school children. Then there is the issue of the hindges and how it attaches to the car. On the R32 GTR hindges there is little hooks the prevent the whole hindge breaking allowing the whole bonnet to spear through the window impailing...umm....but that may vary depending on the make/model of the car. Then there is the strength of the bonnet so if u did hit someone they would rollover or off the bonnet rather then it breaking and then getting cut up by the carbon/fibre glass shards or even the bonnet giving way so their limbs can easily access all those spinning gears and belts. Next is something about the crumple zone and how fibre glass doesnt crumple but fractures, so even in a minor front end a bit could fly off and slice a bystander. Finally because Commodores and Falcons dont look that great with Carbon fibre bonnets >< But if you get it engineered and have it certified they cant touch it with a grain of salt, as they defected the salt for being too salty... Still would buy it if I had the extra cash though. -
Thankyou for your input, its good the have it from both sides of the fence. Personally all I'm after is a new set of tyres. I have a receipt that they did an alignment and they also told me that when they do an alignment they would inform me of any problems. They said nothing about the snapped bracket so by their own admission there wasnt anything wrong. If they did see the damage and failed to inform me about it, they may have been held accountable if I had an accident due to the lack of stability as it falls under negligance. But like I said, all I would like is a new set of front tyres which is also covered by their warrenty.

Just found a reference on SAU aswell if you wanted to cross reference, but the codes seem to be the same: Reference

You will need the paintcode for it. BNR32 * KH2 - Gun Grey Metallic * KG1 - Jet Silver Metallic * TH1 - Dark Blue Pearl * AH3 - Read Pearl Metallic * 732 - Black Pearl Metallic * 326 - Cristal White * KL0 - Spark Silver Metallic * BL0 - Greyish Blue Pearl (special order) * AN0 - Wine Red BCNR33 * AN0 - Super Clear Red * BN6 - Deep Marine Blue * KH3 - Black * KL0 - Spark Silver * KN6 - Dark Grey Pearl * LP2 - Midnight Purple * QM1 - White * BT2 - Champion Blue * KR4 - Sonic Silver (Post 1996) * AR1 - Super Clear Red II BNR34 * TV2 - Bayside Blue * QM1 - White * KR4 - Sonic Silver * KV2 - Athlete Silver * GV1 - Black Pearl * AR2 - Active Red * EV1 - Lightning Yellow * LV4 - Midnight Purple II * LX0 - Midnight Purple III * WV2 - Sparkling Silver * QX1 - White Pearl * EY0 - Silica Breath * JW0 - Millennium Jade Not 100% sure if these are the same in Australia as I lifted them for a maylasian skyline club page: Source but I thing National Capital motors in Tuggers (I think that who it is) are good with paint code translations. Only problem now is which midnight purple ><

Just saw this on my ISPs homepage, feel sorry for anyone in Gold Coast dropping by a atm to get cash out on their way to dinner who own a skyline now. Clicky
-
Well got someone who has worked with suspension for a while to come and look at it. From what he says the reason the bracket snapped was DUE to the fact they didnt align my wheels in the first place, due to the extra impact stress on the sway bar from the wheels having over excessive and uneven toe in. I am going to give them the chance to do it again and do it right before any offical arbitration is brough into the picture which will include fair trading, consumer affairs and, due to the fact the tyre place is a chain, their head management. Let everyone know how it goes, as ive already gotten $100 off auspost for a damaged A/C condenser.

It isnt ours, NAB own it and maintain it. If it was our we would have had it stocked everyday just like the mountain of ice we have out the front which we didnt even sell half of... >< You will probably find that like most epic events that the atm is a Bank of QLD atm. Thing is Bank of QLD is adminstrated by National bank now so they knew they had a NAB atm nearby so didnt put a 2nd one in epic...stupid banks. I was thinking that the nat organisers set up a place that u can buy nat dollars that can be spend in the nats, so rather then going to a atm u go there and use your eftpos card and buy natcash ><

Brand New Carbon Fibre Bonnet For Sale
Helious replied to aus spec 32's topic in Australian Capital Territory
Cops have told me that carbon fibre/fibre glass bonnets are now a defectable item when i got pulled over for RBT. He also said if traffic pulled me over at defect station it would be a fine and a trip to the pits just for having a carbon fibre bonnet. I'm looking for a new bonnet as my current one had cracks in it from prev owners damage, but they are only surface cracks, but I'm saving for holiday currently.
