  1. Hi Matt, yes the hose you blocked is correct. It's connected to the plumb-back BOV piping. It sounds like you've fixed it so it should work. 1. Have you got the controller facing the right direction? The arrow should point toward the wastegate (correct me if otherwise) because that's where air flow is directed. 2. Have you adjusted it several times to see if the boost increases? Or always stuck at .5 BAR? 3. If it's a dual stage then you need to adjust a PAIR of dials, not only one. Maybe you've only done the second stage. Upload a pic of the setup if possible. Post some opinions people! I'm a boost noob at the best of times BTW good on you for giving it a go Matt
  2. Nismo/HKS/Bosch 044
  3. Can someone confirm that the 3071/3076 need the oil/water line kit when you buy the turbo? I know some people use factory lines but i'm unsure if the garrett turbs need the kit. Cheers
  4. Even as a smashed up lump of tin it still looks purty
  5. My tuner threw my HKS pod in the bin and put on an Apexi filter. His theory goes: "the foam needs to be oiled to filter dirt, and that oil gets sucked through the intake and fouls the AFM element, creating performance problems. I've seen it a million times. I clean the element, and the cars run better. Use a filter that doesn't need oiling, ya tool." Save the oil for body rubs with your Mrs.
  6. I love police.
  7. That belt must be magic
  8. In 25 years our kids will be on SAU posting pics of R35's swinging from choppers.
  9. unplug that rubbish and pussy-foot around a bit. The actuator should do the job. My ECU was fine after i D/C the solenoid.
  10. I don't like the idea of an aussie Top Gear. Clarkson is one if a kind and the show has taken literally decades of evolution to become such a world force. It's sophisticated as well as accessible. It's bloody funny too. I doubt anyone can fill the space the way TG UK does it. And the benchmark is so high if the production isn't funny and sharp, as well as engaging, then we'll compare the two and realise OzTG is a sack of sh!t. Someone give me hope
  11. We're on the same page, of a very annoying book. Aahhh the decadence!
  12. I've read 10-15kw max power increase. I'd only do it after the main restrictions are removed (intake/exhaust/boost) or when doing the timing belt. Let us know if you end up doing it
  13. P platers are targeted 100%. I've been told by friends that cops pull them over based on being P-platers. It's discriminating against all young people yes, but what the hell can anyone do about it. And to address gt-ahhh!'s comment, there's a big difference between p'plates on cars and Jews wearing the Star of David. If targeting young drivers reduces deaths then it's a far cry from the Holocaust No one likes being taken advantage of for one's tastes. But police are authorised, and will take advantage of, their right to discriminate whether a driver needs a kick up the arse. We hear of all the unwarranted bullsh!t stories on the forum, and i'm sorry for some of the dudes here getting grey hair over cops that assume their guilt based on social stereotyping. But they're paid to treat law breakers like dogs and that's to make life better for the majority (Holden, Ford and Toyota drivers). That's the reality of a democracy. Love it or move to Russia. Also:
  14. The solenoid controls boost, is comes before the actuator. Replace it with a turbotech boost contoller off ebay (about $30). Here's how to fit it: http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/In...st-t185848.html
  15. Do you have the actuator hooked up to the factory boost control solenoid?
  16. Don't forget to ask the workshop about head work options
  17. Yeh i agree with silicone/polyurethane. I used silicone and it worked a treat. The tape didn't even cross my mind, it's a flimsy bond compared to the sticky stuff
  18. It's more fun if you pull off the starter and get a reco
  19. I personally like the SS utes (VY). They go hard and angry like an RB without the lag. The styling also kicks arse. I can see why the Japs like them. Yes Japan makes superior cars, but good on you for not being part of the ghey "Skylinez rule!" fan club. And yes, Barbarian, the Falcon looks much better on paper (I-6 ftw) than the more popular Commodore. Either it lacks something the Commy has, or Aussie buyers are f**kwits
  20. "The Holden Commodore- WE know it's shit but YOU boneheads will never realise. Test drive one today at your local Holden dealah"
  21. Post #5 might help: http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/R3...nstall+swaybars
  22. Have you installed it properly? Maybe you've forgotten a bush? That might make it sit too close to the subframe. It's been manufactured to fit so it should!
