  1. Can someone explain the difference between a gtst and gtr BOV? Are Skyline BOV's interchangable?
  2. Good on you for giving it a go mate. You'll learn heaps. You can jack the car up from the cross member (strongest place) directly beneath the motor, or i sometimes jack it from the towing points (big chunky oval bits sticking down on either side of the engine) when i'm in a rush. Also don't use water to flush anything as it causes the system to rust (bet you've already read that though) Otherwise you've covered everything. Get stuck into it, take your time, and looking forward to the tutorial
  3. Correct me if i'm wrong, but i don't see why a rooted cat would be restictive at low rpms and get better at higher rpms. Wouldn't it be crap regardless, and more so at higher duty? Does the car backfire often? Anyhow, it's better to eliminate it- so pull off the cat.
  4. Don't tell me you plan to use the stock turbo.
  5. Wait for the rebuild.
  6. Supra if purely for toying. Sounds like it won you over already. Now leave the forums and never return
  7. I'd take an M6 or a DB9 over a Lexus anyday.
  8. Sounds like teh killah motah
  9. Not yet, i'm not sure if there's enough (i think the diff takes 1.7L???) so i was going to get more and do the box and diff together Too bad it won't make me as fast as your new setup
  10. *grabs the nurofen and a beer*
  11. Not hopefully. You will
  12. Gary might have another opinion but from what i know the stock manifold isn't worth binning unless you want to go over 300rwkw. Going high mount turbo is another reason, but isn't needed with a hiflow. Not worth it IMO.
  13. Hey Nat, Cams and hiflow are a great idea. You should see some great response with a good setup + tune. I don't think you need to worry about porting the head. The NEO head will flow good for the boost a hiflow will provide. You said you're after boost response- porting will reduce inlet compression a little, hurting most at low rpm/BOOST. I reckon response will be better without porting. You prob won't remove the head anyway, so it'll be cheaper and you can put the money into top notch injectors/pump/cams etc. GL dude, if you get bored at the workshop get the boys to keep you company
  14. You've got my support if you need to generate content/research/articles. PM me if you need something written fast. -Omar
  15. Watching ppl get pwned is funny

No way. Nissan are kidding, right? They're actually making GTR manga now?
  18. Roy, now i finally get why you have 'minister for rb20 propaganda' in your sig. It's been bugging me for months You f**king love R32's don't you?
  19. I reckon all Toyota can do is outgun Nissan in another direction. i.e. create a monster mid-mounted V8 RWD Lambo eater. They seem to be heading down that path from the YouTube videos of the next Supra (i think it was a V8/V10?) They will be wasting their time trying to take Nissan's customers. Everyone's wrapped by the GTR, plus the media campaign for it was so strong Toyota will have a very hard time convincing the world to get a 21st century Supra. Also i don't totally buy the article's comment that Toyota HAS to beat the GTR or it'll be a failure. It only needs to keep up, make strong sales, and cater for a global market. They're already going to have an affluent, niche customer base with their wanky 'F1 inspired' Lexus punchline. And even by milking the Lexus badge as their ultra-performance model also shows they're conscious of PR, niche markets and providing what the GTR lacks (an aura of class). Lexus hasn't got a strong racing heritage like GTR or Ferrari does, so they're using the Lexus brand to provide theat 'glow' which makes us go wild for 'GTR'. GTR is an all-rounder. Toyota will probably look into an exotic supercar with a premium price tag. That's where i'm putting my money.
  20. I reckon this should go in the DIY section.
  21. I think forum rules are quite relaxed. Don't be a tosser and you'll be fine. The 'no slander' or 'no libel' rule is fair and justified. If i owned the forum i would not want a stranger with a bad tuning experience causing me to be sued. It's not asking much. The mods/admins aren't taping your mouth shut. Keep it to yourself or use PM to discuss matters. We can debate the constitution, defamation legislation and with all the bias that makes SAU interesting- but the rules still stand. If you're itching to complain about this you're A) Wrong B) Severely narrow-minded.
  22. I think R31 Nismoid has provided the answers you seek. I'd be rethinking the turbo setup, and refund policies at HKS
  23. Say my name
  24. A 220kw RB25 with an RB20 box behind it is just a matter of time. Plus the box is old. See how long it'll last i reckon, but it won't be long if it has a hard time.
