  1. To get to the headunit begin by pulling out the ashtray. You'll see a screw (or 2?) that come out. Then pull out the gearstick fascia (pops out). From there you will need to unscrew and pop out the headunit fascia. Start from the bottom and work your way around. Be GENTLE and it'll come out (it goes all the way from the headunit to the RHS of the steering wheel). Also remove the plastic cover around the steering rack, it's got about half-a-dozen screws from the bottom. Then you can then get to the mounting brackets for the headunit and unscrew them. It's not hard, just take your time and have some rags handy to protect parts of the dash and console. Do a search in car audio (could be in DIY, not sure exactly). There's a tutorial somewhere which also explains this. Cheers.
  2. The differences aren't enormous. I reckon you need to drive them and make your mind up. Balance out what you want vs each car's good/bad points- but trust me, you need to drive them both to conclude your choice.
  3. This man jabs poo. But he's making a name for himself. Let's call him "arse".
  4. Saw the new M3 in Concord on Parra Rd today. It's bloody beautiful in the flesh! It was that steamy red colour. Was working so couldn't get pics. I saw a white one at the motor show and it doesn't complement the design at all. Red M3's ftw
  5. Awesome qualifying result. To see a GTR and NSX neck and neck, that's great I met a Malaysian man the other day and he told me to visit his country. I said i'd love to go to Sepang Circuit and see the race. He said it's a great idea, and not too expensive compared to other motoring events, but depending on the seating the cars can look tiny. He said they scream past once, then you wait, they pass again, you wait...etc etc. I guess it's best to go with a group. Otherwise it could get boring in the stands Anyone been to a race? What's it like?
  6. I feel awesome now! *Confidence drops by 800%* Yeah no one wants to touch you (pun unintended) until you've been on the job for a while. Some courses should come with a warning
  7. I'm did journalism at uni, graduating next month. Looking for work and it's hard In the meantime i drive an airport shuttle for my ol' man. If anyone's looking for a graduate journalist/researcher/writer i'll PM my resume
  8. Go to uni. Correspondence study is BS. Nothing beats on-campus education. It will enrichen your life. Study via correspondence is the equivalent to...SAU. Can you get a job with the Bachelor of SAU? Hell no. Just make sure you can get a job after uni. Try getting a job in the industry while you study (unless you're already in the industry). Otherwise you'll be like me, looking for work and getting grey hair! (Go Albert )
  9. Interesting discussion guys. I agree with SK that boost isn't what determines horsepower. The formulas are good indications of likely power with standard aftermarket mods, though each car's setup can have so many variables the formulas can't be taken as any more than a guideline. Certain mods (like cams) will shift an engine's powerband around depending on the setup the owner wants, so this can throw off the calculations as the maximum power at a certain boost pressure will be higher/lower than the same turbo on stock cams. Setups like these would obviously be classified as outliers in graphing power vs boost, so that will automatically distort the formula depending on whether you keep the outliers/disregard them. There are too many variables to generalise RB25 power levels IMO. But the formulas come very close, closer than an estimate at any extent.
  10. To my knowledge you won't make 200kw with the factory turbo, so bear that in mind. An RB25 turbo is probably the cheapest way to increase boost/power, next step is hi-flow. Even if you wring the neck of the stock turbo it won't last long. Look at other's mod lists and get a rough idea.
  11. The electro-magnetic force is unstoppable!
  12. I love when ppl begin their posts with "Hey all" It's soo ghey. Let's just abbreviate the sh!t to 'hell' Oh, to not be off-topic i'll say congrats on the thrashed car, um i mean nice front bar
  13. You can have the fuel pressure tested in 30 seconds at a mechanic/tuner (i'd go/have gone to a tuner for this) That will narrow it down. It's common for stock pumps to die after 10 years. If it's the issue then they'll give you some pointers on what to do. That's why i'd go a tuner, not a mech, because a tuner will know how to tackle a Skyline better.
  14. +1 Yes, stuffing around with the CAS isn't worth it. A tuner can fiddle with it in 5 mins and costs you very little. Could be many a thing. A stuffed sensor (i.e. O2), bad plugs, a leaking injector, BOV problem, idle control issue. If you're not prepared to go through every single thing then give a measly $100 to a mechanic and they'll tell you in 30mins exacly what's wrong. Then pay him another $1000 to fix it hahaha jk, jk.
  15. Are you running standard boost? If yes then it's not the boost cut. My advice: Do a search on- O2 Sensor/oxygen sensor. Yours might be dirty/dying AFM. It might need a clean Spark plugs. Change them Coilpacks. Wrap them in tape/silicone Fuel pump. Maybe yours is on the way out. Change the fuel filter too, it's a good idea anyway. If the problem remains after all those then get professional help. Or a psychiatrist.
  16. They all seem to drive R34's. Next thing you ladies need is turbochargers
  17. That sounds annoying to adjust
  18. ouch winner
  19. Looking forward to the F6 more. This is good though.
  20. Yavuz worked on my car, highly recommend. Didn't need to retune my stocker ECU...he squeezed more power from my car without touching it Chris! Be sure to PM me next time you head there
  21. My ex hates cars. No need to explain why she's my ex.
