  2. Lost the gloss on my paint using citric adhesive remover. Had to dilute it with water and helped a little. Still needs cut and polish though
  3. Putting it back is what caused the power loss. You should see more mileage, as a tradeoff for less power. My car was sluggish until i advanced my timing. Now i use more fuel
  4. Ingition Advance 101: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ignition_timi...ignition_timing
  5. On a dyno it's a reliable way to see how a modified engine reacts to timing advance. Obviously a stock car needs stock timing. But with some mods and esp. ECU mods, advance = powah. Doing a guess job in the backyard after a few beers. That's dodgy.
  6. You live in the country? Or you have an 'agreement' with the cops
  7. WSID
  8. Reminds me of the rev limiter Sometimes it just feels flat too
  9. Who stocks it? Got some pics?
  10. There is an optimal ignition advance and it is based on so many things...some of theses things are fuel RON, compression ratio, afr, inlet charge temp and combustion chamber design... had my CAS adjusted (on dyno) with ghey fuel (98 vortex, but drove like 95). I hope that doesn't hurt the engine. i've been using awesome Ultimate recently (last couple of months fuel has been scarce and crap quality) and i'm wondering if it'll affect the current ignition advance setup... sorry to hijack
  11. That's a ridiculously eloquent article. For a change.
  12. Dural is like driving to another state. Fiesta's are ok, Festiva's are ghey. I drove one for a couple years I reckon the only ppl that should be banned from this meet are idiots, car haters, and Festiva owners (cause they won't arrive until the next morning, regardless from where). You'd be good in PR, or Politics lol. Oh no! We'll have to go indoors!
  13. Great thread! It's like a book you just can't put down
  14. Forget littering, the cop should've fined your ass for throwing out a red frog
  15. Say it
  16. Another case where police abused the privilege of authority. Glad you set 'em straight. +1 for fairness and +1 for Skylines. And green Citroens
  17. What's good about not being able to see the babe's head?
  18. The only time i've had police issues in my SKyline is when i've done something wrong. My car doesn't make too much noise and i totter around minding my own business. I haven't been 'hassled' in the 6 months i've owned the car. Post some pics of the car and we'll tell you if it stands out like a mother. Is the exhaust loud? De-cat? Also, just get used to it as a P'er. You're a target. Hard.
  19. To SAU Mods: +1 Like "N1GTR's RB26 rebuild" thread, or "Birth of an RB25" thread. They were great reads. What if there is a new subsection titled "Engine builds" for example, with subsections within it for different engines, and another series of subsections for different power brackets OR stages (std engine/forged engine/race engine) OR turbo choices. Will save lots of leg work for heaps of people. It could be like the engine upgrade section BUT can be more in-depth, with pictures and open discussion (unlike the no chit-chat policy ). All this needs is approval- and donators willing to give their time to create the threads
  20. My R33 was sluggish and i had the cam angle sensor turned left (counter-clockwise) and it increased response and power (10rwkw extra). Did it on a dyno- best way because you can measure the changes to the power curve. Turning yours right might've made it worse. It's something else you've missed i reckon. A smic swap (i've done the R34 one too) shouldn't do anything other than allow more charge to flow through the intake.
  21. After some servicing my mileage improved. I've seen as much as 500km a tank. Driving like a granny helps. With Skylines they're not as thirsty as you'd think, but when you open the taps they can be like a V8 on fuel.
  22. Now you're teasing Bet Anna's used to that
  23. You have unrealistic expectations. Budget more, or lower your expectations. If you ask around long enough eventually you'll realise what's realistic for the budget. A few of the guys have already stated this. 300kw means you'll need a very expensive setup to make it responsive. And yes, a big turbo is needed for that power. And big = lag. With a good setup you could make the power cheaply with the KKR turbo, but it won't be as responsive as a more expensive ball-bearing turbo, or a smaller turbo. If you want a turbo to make 250kw with plans to go to 300kw, you'll need a big turbo. Because you won't be pushing it to full capacity at the lower power level (less boost) and you need supporting mods before you can push it, you'll be experiencing plenty of lag until it's potential is used I'm sure you can get what you're after. Keep researching and GL.
  24. Nismo/HKS/Tomei all good choices (go in that order IMO) Bosch= 044 for 300kw
