  1. Argue all you want, all the data you find will be unreliable. The OEM's say one thing (lies) and drivers, journo's, enthusiasts etc. do their own tests which aren't verifiable, ON TOP of the fact you're comparing data, with the GTR for eg., that can't be compared because you know at least one data-set (Nissan's) is a pile of BS. You need these cars, factory spec, and a 2WD dyno, drag strip, on a 22-degree morning.
  2. It'll change your life. Avoid if you don't do change well. Do this homework: http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/Dr...ne-t152346.html
  3. I expected more than that
  4. You're all wrong. Gtst's can beat anything in the quarter just with 3-in zorst. NSX and N1's are teh suck!
  5. Fellas, we just found the new SAU mission statement. Maybe change the word Silvia to Skyline first Quick someone get me Prank's email.
  6. This should be moved to the DIY section. It's a good tute and it might get lost here! Anyway, i heard a little rumor that you can put playing cards around the rim instead of tape. They slot in between the rim and rubber. Haven't tried it, but sounds quick. Top job mate
  7. I agree, by 2015 how viable will petrol-powered sports cars be? They simply won't. Hmmm, instant torque...I have a vision *Electric GT-R sending all four tyres up in smoke with a gentle throttle push* It won't be about linear 'revving the fikuk' outta the motor type performance, it'll be measured in how much power is needed at each wheel, with the batteries serving the precise amount of power needed every 1000th of a second, the only limit being how much torque the tyres can take before melting. Yeah you're right Adam, but the use of petrol for transport will decrease as oil prices rise and electric engines become more efficient and economical. That's the time (around 2020 i reckon) when the GTR/NSX/LFA as we knew them in the 90's and 10's will be phased out through shifting mass economies. *cries like a b!tch* But on topic, the battle between Jap supercars will only get more heated. New technologies will be pioneered in Japan, that's gauranteed. I'm just waiting for a flying GT-R.
  8. Would be great to know what that is. I have the same and haven't got an effin clue what it does. Also have the same bracket (but nothing sitting in it) on the other side
  9. Tom here's a page talking about the restrictor: http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/In...20&start=20 You can give it a try, but i haven't heard of complaints of rough boosting (i have a GTST so i can't give 1st hand experience). Yeah i'm not big on huge induction noise because i daily drive my car. It just depends on how good it sounds, cause there's some loud-ass 'lines that i think are awesome The restrictor is near the yellow ring on the hose going from the PCM (on driver's side tower) to plenum. Squeeze the hose and you'll find it (if it's still there). Lots of people have done it. Cheers
  10. I with ya lads. Bin this idea and keep OP! The state gov't are considering this proposal with the likely shadow of corporate pressure lurking behind. The circuit could potentially yield huge advertising, broadcast and ticket sale revenues, not to mention overseas investment (like Super GT hopping from Malaysia to Sydney). Corporate interests ARE gov't interests don't forget. But it is unlikely to go ahead because it's obvious how sh*t of an idea this for everyone else. It would ruin the image of Syd Olympic Park.
  11. That's the best thing to start with. With intake, exhaust and removing the boost restrictor (near PCM) you'll be making an automatic 1BAR roughly. It'll probably net you the biggest gain other than slapping on bigger turbos. Most cops would probably let you off. I've been fined for exposed pod, but that wouldn't have happened if i had some el cheapo enclosure. +1 Yeah there's no escaping defects. Go by the book (plumb-back, resonator/s, pod-box etc.) and cops aren't over the top with handing out defects. You won't necessarily lose power with legal mods, like keeping your cat, but you'll lose the "sik kent" factor And sounds a lotta fun too. Congrats
  12. Not with ridiculous crude oil prices, and the fact it's quickly running out. Oh, and the climate change crisis means we'll be binning the internal conbustion engine quicksmart for an army of energiser bunnies with wheels. Nissan will need to step up to the environmental plate too. The R36 could be a blend of old and new - a powerful straight-6 that's greeeeeen. They might call it: RB26DETT. Remote Battery 2.6L Doesn't Endanger Teh Trees.
  13. To make the power you can go for a few turbos. High flow (i.e. GCG), GTR-S, GT3071R, there's others. Fuel pump is a must, regulator is probably a good idea and an ECU. Yep 550's will be needed. Then a retune and you're done. Your clutch will die in the ass if it's stock, so don't forget that. You'd put up a fight against a GTR, but don't forget they can dump the shit outta their clutches and keep good traction off the line.
  14. It's a mic wired to Nissan Motor Co. headquarters. They're keeping a tab on the use of the phrases "hektik" "fulleh sik" and "wtf uleh!" in their cars. You've been warned.
  15. Nissan will say that's the point
  16. We got owned like a porno first-timer
  17. Cheap degreaser, gentle fin scrub with brush, warm rinse x 3, hair dryer 30 mins. Works for me.
  18. Adam here's your answer: kthxbye
  19. Owned x 1 Owned x 2 Owned, owned, owned!1!k!! Give up while you're behind Yes, yes Honda realised their beautiful NSX was a total commercial flop and to make the new one practical have freed up cabin space by front/mid-mounting the motor and giving it plenty of grip with AWD, to cater for wealthy buyers that curl into a ball and cry when the tyres chirp. Honda tried to be exotic and stand out with the old NSX, but they've given up. Nissan have never hidden the GTR was an all-rounder. They only hid its performance figures The new NSX smacks of dirty, dirty daily driver to me
  20. Go aftermarket. R33/34 parts will probably fit. Just Jap Nengun Greenline etc.
  21. Pull off dump and cat - inspect.
  22. Will be awesome to see one on Sydney streets. I feel sorry for the owners. They'll end up magnets to criminal activity/wrapped around a pole
