  1. Yeah i installed the turbotech on my R33 yesterday. Damn its great! I didn't realise how much power the car had hidden away! It's easy to install and adjust, and yes it does spike a little but i countered that by keeping it at a little lower boost than i wanted. It's running about 10-11psi now and it's great power. The nose lifts under throttle and never used to. I'm gonna post a thread explaining how to install one, for the few guys i've seen asking how its done (like i did to begin with)
  2. I just got mine today. I reckon the spring will last a while, but because it's such a cheap ($30) valve if the boost gauge tells you that it can't hold boost consistently after it's been used heaps i'd just buy another one or upgrade to an EBC. If you really wanted to keep it but it was playing up i'd go scouring for another spring

  5. True. I've seen a few P's with V8 utes too.
  6. Yeah since that guy killed the couple on the Great Western Hwy recently i've noticed a lot LESS hooning compared to normal. I got my R33 like a week after that incident and not ONCE has anyone tried to race me in the weeks since! Guess the majority of us are mature about our cars, but it takes a handful of knobs to destroy our rep instantly.
  7. Live in NSW, sorry can't help. Did it have an immobiliser? I had one put into my r33 even before i even picked it up from the dealership. Makes its much harder to lose. Good luck mate
  8. Apart from CAMS licence you need a roadworthy vehicle, cash to use the track, helmet, long sleeve shirt & pants, grab some octane booster too. Also make sure your tyres aren't worn too bad before you head out. The rest you'll be briefed before they let you onto the track anyway. Have fun!
  9. I think the rears are cutting it fine...
  10. You could just call an import workshop, or someone like American Auto, and ask if the brace fits both. I reckon the dimensions would be the same at the front (i'm not 100% sure). Yeah strut brace go for it, increasing rigidity means taking corners faster. That's reason enough!
  11. Yep i just ordered my TurboTech bleed valve . It's not $22 anymore, it's $30. It's got good reviews everywhere, so looking forward to seeing the results when it arrives.
  12. I just bought a TurboTech bleeder/restricter off Ebay! I'll give some feedback once i get it. Should be good. For now i found this feature/review on it - TurboTech Boost Controller Peace
  13. My Skyline makes me bludge uni every day! :laughing-smiley-014:
  14. Yeah i wanna find out if there is a difference in how hard/fast boost comes on between bleed valve vs. EBC, cause after all i wanna get one for a power increase.
  15. Just checked out that $22 thread. The diagram makes it look very simple to install. Too bad the Ebay link is invalid . I was a bit iffy about bleed valves until now. My mate (has an r32 with EBC) said they spike and are shit. But i've got a boost gauge and there's that spring lock on the TTech. Safe as.
  16. Cheers. I think i'll grab one today haha
  17. But do i need an EBC for a stock turbo? Is it even worth it?
  18. How could you measure the octane level sitting in the tank? It would be hard to get it exact anyhow.
  19. Yeah thats not cheap. Including brakes and tyres being thrashed too! Sounds pretty straight forward...they have helmets at Wakefield right? The smile will be on by default! Only after initial crapping myself (first time jitters) Damn i need a wheel balance first... Can i borrow 50 bucks? lol
  20. Yeah its green fluid.
  21. Thanks for all the advice guys. Yeah i only really want to hit about 10-11psi on the stock turbo, nothing more for wear and tear issues. I don't wanna spend more than $100 if i can spend that or less on something reliable. TurboTech sounds pretty good at this point. Cheers Abu. Any major issues in installing the bleed valve yourself? I'll check the DIY threads as well. What i wanted ideally was a controller that was adjustable inside the cabin, between stock and higher boost, with one of those rocket switches. That an EBC right?
