  1. Yes that's how it works. Once enough boost is made to lift the spring it hits the actuator and the wastegate opens, of course once the actuator passes it's threshold amount of pressure (7psi from memory, not sure). So the TT valve just delays when the actuator begins operation. You can see a little port on top of the TT- air escapes through there, it also reduces air pressure between the ball-bearing and actuator, minimising spiking. You might be right about the TT/Solenoid setup. Only one way to find out
  2. That's exactly what i do. My engine still works
  3. Thanks for throwing some ideas up . I haven't tried it yet, but from what's been mentioned it isn't a good mod (spiking is one reason apparently ). Paulr33 (scholar of high boost-mode) wasn't enthusiastic about it either (it's in a thread buried somewhere). To make this mod work the TT valve would need to come first in the equation, tricking both the solenoid AND actuator into making more boost. If you give it a try we'd love to see some results! I'll try as well, just need to replace my hacked-up vaccuum lines from the old setup Great job on the install. It's normal for the boost to trail off a couple of PSI near redline. If it's losing boost before that check for vacuum leaks and that the spring inside the TT valve isn't getting stuck. Also double check you've notched it up enough (it tricked me at first). You'll feel a much better midrange with this mod. Do you mean the stock actuator operates like a bleed valve? Well it does, recirculating the intake signal charge back into the intake system via the BOV plumb-back pipe. Yes you're right, the TT valve should theoretically go before the solenoid and actuator in a dual-setup. Also just to clarify, the Turbotech ISN"T a bleed valve in the traditional sense. It doesn't slowly bleed air toward the wastegate actuator. This can cause spiking. The TT has a steel ball-bearing inside that blocks airflow with a tensioned spring holding it in place. The more pre-tension on the spring (set by YOU), the more boost is needed to lift the ball-bearing. So it's more on-off in operation, hence the reduced chances of boost spiking (i've only experienced it a few times in 6 months). Cheers

  5. Dude, you'd make an awesome Richard Hammond
  6. I'd only being to worry if it's lowered a fair bit, or if you have buttery dampers.
  7. Awesome combination of looks with the 34. For track a spoiler is a good, but think of how you might mess up the looks
  8. 90% of the time a PFC is the winner. Unless there's a good reason not to, go the PFC.
  9. It worse than that. 'Stock' people (what, like they're friggin' cattle?) wouldn't know what the noise is coming from under the bonnet.
  10. The cheap version is either getting a GTR BOV, it should handle up to 18psi, or getting the gtst BOV diaphragm spring compressed/replaced with a higher tension spring so the BOV doesn't leak under ginormous boost. That's bloody cheap. Too right. If it works, is legal, cheap, effective and if bling isn't required- what's there to criticise?
  11. Hold out. R33 seats are pretty basic stuff. It's like putting an RB20 in your GTR (no offense R32 owners, but your engine sucks). Either get 33 seats and re-upholster them in nice material (velor/suede/leather) or hold out for R34 seats, or even GTR seats. Non-GTR R33 seats aren't purty, esp. for series 1. If you want to donate your buckets to me i'd be happy to take them
  12. I love stacks. It wouldn't have been funny if the cameraman got squished. That's a wasteland type thread. Dity, dirty wasteland...
  13. I can't give definite answers, but what i can say is if the getrag fits, after the transfer case if off, it'll need lots of custom work. Think clearances for the transmission tunnel, mounts, input shaft etc. You'll likely need a custom tailshaft. Are GTT LSD's the same as GTR's? That'll come into play if you're looking at a diff conversion. It'll be easier if you use the GTT diff housing and replace the internals with GTR gears, assuming they're different. I think most of the experts log off when it's prime time
  14. Cheers for posting. I think it looks like a pair of dogs balls with David Hasslehoff's coked-up smile pinned to it with blu-tack. It's a mess of different styling: Gran Turismo grille, MR-S style eyes and nose, Korean designed scoop (but acknowledging it's derived from the 250GT) and ridiculous motes carved into the doors. It holds together well from the rear-quarter image, it has more geometrical harmony than the front. Too bad the front and rear appear to have been designed by two different crackheads. They lack symmetry, and i'll wager that's because the engine is too bloody big. That's a good thing, so i can forgive the aesthetic orgy before me and marvel at the fact drug addicts now make Ferrari's. I thought they only made Lambo's.
  15. Google can tell you how poly is made. Yes it can't be melted.
  16. Thanks for scanning those up. Now all that's left is for you to write up a translation
  17. Location would just be common sense. The warmer the climate, the colder the plug no?
  18. Great video! I was the last car on tape before that 33 gave a little squirt at the end. Is that all?
  19. Posts like this are why i joined SAU! bahahahaha Spot on. Political journalists are even worse. They're in bed with every politician and his wife.
  20. One thing you're missing here guys is that the ACCC is a govt body, and the govt and Oil companies are in bed together. Without Petrol the government would collape. Why the f**k should they do anything about price spiking? They're quick to react to an invasion of Iraq, in unison with the US, but fuel prices are spiked repeatedly over a six month period. What's done about it? Higher prices
  21. I totally understand boys. But i get paranoid that when i overtake someone, within the speed limit, that a cop will single me out because Skylines just sound freakin' awesome. Even at 3000RPM they growl (w. 3in exhaust). I just don't want ANY cops to notice me because stereotypically noise = bad behaviour.
  22. That's called ingenuity Still hard.
  23. Pure poetry- i love it! Anyone notice how Tuesday prices are the same as Sunday & Monday? Then on Wed it hits the fkn roof? Tight-ass Tuesday doesn't really exist anymore IMO. I can't stand anyone that owns oil. Soon parents are gonna start cultivating their teen kids' pimples to run their cars on biofuel for f**ks sake
  24. I'm not a big Wheels fan but i have lots of respect for BMW. Just thinking about BMW adding 2 cylinders to the M3 and actually SHAVING weight from the old engine gets me hard. BMW spend ridiculous amounts on R&D and, ready for it, actually seem to give a poo about the 'human project'. They deserve every accolade IMO.
  25. Step 2. New fuel Filter Step 3. Fuel Pump Step 4. PM me and find out
