  1. Whatever floats his boat I guess. Mech/Elec. Still involves dicking around with lines and or wires. Maybe he likes oil sprayed on his interior
  2. Hi guys, A few quick questions. I've been thinking lately about my RB25 and the oil it runs. Now the old owner always ran 10w40 magnatec (yup cheap stuff!), but being said, its run that for 5+ years and everything seems to be going fine! Considering its a 96 model motor, I dont believe a semi synthetic would be an issue for it at all. Being $30 bucks a bottle, I can do 3 times the amount of oil changes in the same period as say, a bottle of royal purple fully syn oil. However, I then started thinking about what it best for the turbo. It runs a HKS GT-RS turbo, obviously somewhat 'new' technology. That made me think maybe the bearings in the turbo are better suited to a fully syn oil, as opposed to a semi. Anyway, I was wondering whether anyone has thought about this dilemma before, ie older model engine with far newer model turbo. What would you guys recommend? Does anyone believe it would be detrimental to the HKS turbo running semi syn oil (I mean after all its just a b/b turbo like came standard on the R33 i guess?)
  3. Something went wrong, please delete topic mods
  4. That said, by the time the light is on, the damage is done. It needs nearly no pressure for the light to come on. You have done the right thing OP, keep an eye on it. But i reckon a mechanical gauge will show its just a faulty sender
  5. I run the GT-RS... its a pretty good turbo! Makes 253rwkw on 14psi. Lots of other supporting work as well tho. Either way, I think you will be happy with the 3071R. I cant imagine it would be too different in its spool. The GT-RS offers crazy response for the street tho!
  6. 9 times out of 10 it is not an oil pressure problem, but an oil pressure sender issue. Go to nissan and order a new sender order first
  7. SOLD!!!SOLD!!!SOLD!!!SOLD!!!SOLD!!!SOLD!!!SOLD!!!
  8. Nothing in Martin's post comes across in any way shape or form to me like the way you see it. He simply stated they were expecting to be "owned" the the very quick and well modified cars there, but were surprised to come out on top. At the end of the day a mild tune 35 GTR showed just what it can do against the big boys. Its not putting one car down for the sake of his own. There will always be a winner, and by the sounds of it RX-7 might just be the winner next time they meet! I dont think its worth my replying with anything longer then that, its just that simple. Im not sure what thread you were reading to get a bee in your bonnet!
  9. Sold pending payment - will confirm once deal is done
  10. I wasnt making it my business. I was simply stating its a huge leap. Didnt ask for a run down of his life/finances
  11. I dont understand how you step from a 20k car to a 160k car lol.
  12. it only got to 152km/h in 4th gear on the dyno...
  13. Silver face R34 gauges are Series 2 GTT's Charcol are Series 1 GTT's
  14. Wow. They almost looked chopped... so big! Hawt Sauce
  15. Yeh maintains NVCS. Greddy exhaust cam gear, unsure what its adjusted to tho sorry.
  16. I run 256/264 HKS cams with standard springs
  17. Ive been in a T78 R32 GTR and watched a T78 R33GTR on song... it was love at first sight. Probably abit laggy for drifting tho.
  18. Skylines are very sluggish without any kind of boost however. Where I come from im always using boost to allow me to maintain decent acceleration when fulling out of side streets etc to save a bingle. However you can reduce the boost enough with your right foot that it wont break down. Personally I dont think you will see much trouble from the odd misfire
  19. Oh yeh sorry didnt mean to confuse you. I know stock power outputs are at the flywheel, I more meant it as in the 20odd kw flywheel advantage will of course equate to a generally slightly higher figure at the wheels then an R33. Yeh my car had 215rwhp, so 215 engine Kw is possibly close to what it really had. Either way at the track it ran 160km traps which was ok imo
  20. I had a Cat back exhaust, and 12ish psi running through my R34 GTT (remember, its 206kw from factory, up abit on the R33's) and it pulled 161rwkw. My answer, every dyno is different. Does it feel fast to you? Feel good to drive? If so, focus more on that then a piece of paper. IMO the one real test for power is the 1/4 mile. Track it, get your trap speed, and then work out whether its down on power from where it should be.
  21. Many people on this site are pushing 20psi or more through via the stock head gasket with no issues
  22. posting a random word because my thread never comes up when i search! so ummmm 160ost
