  1. On great ocean road speed limit is 80km (except at towns) which is more than fast enough on the real tight sections. I'd change all your oils and fluids before leaving Perth. Your worst enemy for the whole trip would be stone chips Good luck with it.
  2. ^ I miss Dr. Pepper. My favourites: - Aloe juice - Redbull - Coke Zero - Grape flavoured Jell-O Fanta. (This drink is imported from Japan - Asian shops stock them)
  3. First option is safest way. Just make sure to wear goggles and a mask.
  4. Try Cape Schanck and surrounding areas for a day trip. Its pretty close. I went there last weekend when the weather was better.
  5. Just make sure you don't get any of the stuff on your paint. Apparently its not good for for any of the rubber components in the fuel system.
  6. Saw a stock looking white R33 GTR on Warrigul Rd around 5PM yesterday - southbound - being given the beans (can hear the engine being revved and the nose lifting). Older asian guy driving looked similar to Keiichi Tsuchiya, but with more hair
  7. One more question.. Is it a 5 or 4 speed auto for the 2.5L? Alot of cars on car sales say 5 speed auto but overseas sites say it is 4 speed. or Is 5 speed an option???
  8. ^ Thanks for that The eManage is only a piggy back computer as oposed to a full replacement
  9. How would the 250gt compare to an IS200 overall? (I'm looking at smaller engines - as you can all see) I've read some comparisons in the US about G35 vs IS300 and most seem to be biased towards the IS series - obviously the cars they are referring to are the 3.5L Infinity and 3.0L Lexus.
  10. Thanks guys - thats quite informative. Interesting that they use EGR again - I thought that technology went away in the 80s I'm *guessing* they are using it again to help cool the exhaust gasses so that there is not too much NOx... Are the VQ engines quite wasy to work on - In comparison to the RB series? How about coil pack failure which is quite common on the non-GTR R34s.
  11. Hi all, I've been reading about the V35 and it seems to be a fantastic overall car - which seems to be under-rated. I'm thinking about purchasing a V35 2.5l auto sedan as a daily as it looks classy and is much more discreet then the R34. I'd like to hear people's personal experiences with the car. Too bad the V series skylines do not have the circular tail lights... - How are they as a daily, are they smooth on the city streets? (I drive a stock R34 sedan and I fell it is a litte too stiff). - Are there different levels of feature specification for the 250gt eg. better audio, leather seats etc? - Because it is a 2.5L is it sluggish around town. - How are they on fuel? - How's the isnsurance for them? - What are the common issues most people get? I've read another thread saying that direct injection cars tend to have issues with sensors due to carbon deposits?? Cheers
  12. Just to correct you there. The empty box you are refering to is a resonator which muffles intake noise as well as adds power to an n/a setup (I know it may seem wierd) - but it has nothing to do with catching oil. Some n/a guys on this forum have used oil catch cans - but the advantages are quite small for a stock n/a. I was contemplating this idea but its not worth the cost unless you are really driving hard (on the track of course) or if you have a turbo setup.
  13. In regards to the eManage with that be controlling the shifts for the auto or will the Trans control unit be controlling the shifts. I read somewhere that the non turbo variants have a separate ECU and TCU.
  14. "Reality" is there will always be someone out there with a GT-R, Type R, TRD, M, AMG, HSV, FTV badge etc. on a car it does not belong on or anything considered rice. "real world" thing to do is to get over it. It is their car (maybe even problem). Ripping into people about a "badge" in a thread about "Showing your 4 door skylines" is pointless. ... and yes I am a computer geek - if you like you can rip into computer geeks all you want at the wasteland. Anyways back to topic
  15. Just wondering - I want my car to be setup for lots of torque low down - max power is not much of a concern for me. I want a similar setup to a stock ford XR5 ---> http://www.drive.com.au/Editorial/ArticleD...ArticleID=12454 Is it possible to keep almost everything stock. My goal is to keep it modest without the need to have too many bits changed. I'm aming for something around 120 to 140rwkw. Basically the setup I'm "thinking" about is: - GTT exhaust manifold and a small turbo for quicker spool. (stock turbo??) - Stock GTT piping to stock GTT SMIC. - Custom piping from GTT SMIC to the throttle body (the DE is different to the DET - due to the "Y" pipe setup on the DE) Will the ECU, injectors and fuel pump need to be changed for a modest setup? How many psi will i need to run to achieve the output I want. My car is an r34 non-turbo, auto
  16. Some sat nav units lock out any inputs for routes/changes once you are above 10km/h, only thing that functions above 10km/h is the volume control and the on/off. I have it on mine and it's a no brand ebay item from Taiwan I'm sure apple or any phone manufacturers can write up updates to have similar functionality.
  17. Spotted a clean r33 coupe - Victoria st - Richmond around 7.30 last night. Plate number UIU-*** - had an SAU sticker. I heard the sound of the RB engine from afar so naturally I turned around and spotted you
  18. For someone with not many posts (around 50 from what I see) and "seem" to be constantly flaming others - this is not a good look for you. You have made your opinion about not liking the "R" badges (in whatever form) - fair enough - but don't go ripping into one guy because he is just showing his pride and joy. I'm sure you would not like it if we all turned around and started making fun of your 180SX for whatever reason - everyone has their likes and dislikes. I'm also pretty sure you are a car enthusiast as well. Besides this thread is about who owns a 4 door skyline and who wants to show their pics - not a flaming session. Respect
  19. Here's mine.
  20. His badge is "GTS-R" (eastbear I'm guessing) not "GTR"

    Impounds

Impound the bike and give him a canary for having a bald tire. Forgot to mention he was not wearing a helmet....
  22. I guess best ask the council/cops. Just out of curiosity does it still have the number plates?
  23. just for those out there that do not know - to enable the steering wheel controls - You have to make sure the shifter itself is in tiptronic mode as well as the steering wheel shift mode is set to on.
  24. When people say the chaser is so much smoother/comfortable - are you guys referring to the ride quality and seating position? What makes the chaser more superior to the R34 sedan in terms of features - both have auto climate control and the usual electrics. Engine and trans would be somewhat comparable - both are 2.5L and have some sort of vvt... Even the silhouettes and size of both cars are similar. I find the R34s ride a tad harsh at times (I own an R34 sedan). How does a stock chaser handle compared to a stock R34 sedan? I've generally been under the impression that toyota sedans handle pretty bad in stock form so a good set of coilovers is almost a must - which in turn would make the chaser "less" smoother/comfortable.. I'm just curious - because the seem to be very similar cars - are they "direct" competitors in Japan - just like he Falcon and Commodore her in Australia. note: I've never been in a chaser or even an aristo for that matter.
