  1. Nissan Matic D ATF is actually lower spec (dextron 3 equivalent) compared to Transmax Z (fully synthetic)
  2. On the footpath - same spot as where the red one was parked many meetings ago.
  3. Spotted an white r33 coupe with white wheels heading south bound on dalton rd around 10am
  4. slightly off topic correct me if i'm wrong - R34s don't have MAP sensors? they use the AFM
  5. It should be fine as long as the soft racks are spaced enough - so that it is balanced - but I do reccommend you put everything else in the boot except the snowboard and bag - just to keep the roof light and aerodynamic. It basically works by putting the soft racks directly on your roof (one towards the front and one towards the rear), you then open your doors and loop the straps via the inside of your car - like how a bicycle helmet straps under your chin - then you tighten. But some disadvanteges to note - make sure your roof is clean - make sure there is no grit or else the rubbing during the drive will damage your paint. I don't think they are designed for high speed, 100km/h should be ok (hence my reason for just having the snowboard and bag on the roof), just don't overtake too much faster, but of course we never go above 100km/h If you have no one riding with you - I recommend putting the snowboard inside - recline the passenger seat all the way back and attach the seat belt.
  6. I haven't heard of any for an R34 4 door... I've been looking for some for ages for my snowboard. I ended up getting a set of soft racks from ebay. But it is for light duty. http://cgi.ebay.com.au/Car-SOFT-ROOF-RACKS...93%3A1|294%3A30
  7. If all else fails - call the nissan dealership - not sure about r33 - but if I ask for any part for my r34 they seem to have it. Worth a try...
  8. White R33 coupe stopped along warrigul rd with the hazards on - near the Kittens car wash around 4.45pm - had a dent on the front right fender - not sure if it just got involved in a minor accident on the merging section...
  9. I'm assuming you are on light throttle? If that is the case - it is due to the car being too high in gear (4th) and the torque converter locking - to help save fuel. The reason the the car then feels "normal" afterward is because the ECU/TCU detects the engine is "struggling" so to speak, therefore it releases the tourque converter lock and lets the trans slip in 4th or will down shift to 3rd. Do you feel the engine has problems reving up smoothly?
  10. you "could" be right - he was at the side of the road initially, he must have seen me drive past and decided to show off. edit: actually I re-read your post - he didn't have SAU stickers... but even then still not a good idea
  11. purple/black R32 (possibly GT-R) along Dalton rd thomastown - around 6pm - damn fast car around them wet roundabouts - went around them like nothing....
  12. Spotted a silver r33 coupe heading southbound - No SAU stickers around 8.30ish.
  13. RB Rabbit (I made up the name) - the Race Bred rabbit
  14. Assuming the lines are connected - make sure the actuator assembly is also well lubricated and that there are no leaks on the diaphram or hose. Also a good time to check the fuel filter too.
  15. Spotted a VL/VK "hoon spec" commodore smashed into a house at 2am this morning - along Cheddar Rd - Keon Park - Seems the accident ("possibly" caused by street racing) just happened a few minutes before I drove past, people were getting out of their homes for a sticky beak.
  16. I hate the "cheap" looking wheels - the stock ones are probably worth more.... Interior looks sh*t. This dude just de-valued his GT-R
  17. Green two tone r33 coupe along Cochranes Rd, Moorabin.
  18. Damn - same description as my car - I take that route when going home from my gfs place - Kinda haunting in a strange way.
  19. I'm assuming you have the 4 speed auto in your R33 (they also came out with a rare 5 speed auto). If it is a full trans flush - you will need around 7L of Transmax Z. 2x 4 liter bottles. I don't recommend flushing agents or conditioners as they breakdown your trans fluid.
  20. Hi all, I do heaps of mountain runs and long drives - which means lots of constant higher revs, all seasons of the year - summer the most concerning. The obvious things that come to mind are premium fluids, engine oil cooler and auto trans cooler. Is there anything else I'm missing/need or upgraded? I'm running a pretty stock rb25de n/a r34 auto with very minor mods - extractors, high flow cat and air filter - I do not intend on doing any more performance mods - I just want to be able to run the at its peak for longer periods of time without (or at least lessen) the risk of breaking things. Cheers
  21. So the can does not roll down the hill.... haha When I drive a manual car - i've been told to always leave it in 3rd gear or higher, never knew the real reason for 3rd specifically... but I'm *guessing* if you leave it in first or second and you accidentally crank the engine in gear you could possibly cause the car to literally start moving. in an auto car - I always put it in park when the car is parked.
  22. Check your PM
  23. Spotted a white R34 coupe at 1.30am at Thomastown BP while inflating my tires, you filled up some petrol and we drove side by side along Dalton road 'till the ring road. Very nice clean car. Gave the thumbs up.
  24. put me down as a "maybe"
